Music for the Madeline Xmas Appeal.

Have a listen to the McCann's Xmas Appeal. (Can be found on YouTube) They have used the backing music of Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars". Would you really choose this song - when you could have any? Are they really sticking two fingers up to us all? Or am over reading something? I apologise in advanced if this has been noticed or discusssed before.

Anyway here are the lyrics:

Wasn't there a remark attributed to little Maddie herself: 'Mummy, won't you come and lie with me?'

I seem to remember one poster replying: 'with you, and for you, my dear'

But this dates back years ago

I'll say one thing for the McCanns... they're not afraid to show their lack of ~~class~~ sensitivity to the world yes

I'm entirely lacking any photoshop skills but if some kind soul could find a photo of the gruesome twosome grinning ear to ear and paste a couple of santa hats on their heads, I can use it as an illustration (with due credit of course) to accompany the little ditty I've composed to get the M fund's tills ringing - or not, as the case may be,

You could be right Portia. However given there are thousands of songs on the subject of "Missing you" "Reuniting loved ones" etc... Surely they could have picked one that could not be misconstrued as "Chasing Cars" can be. If I were in their shoes and was compiling a film to be broadcast I would be very careful on the message I was sending. I would want to send a message to my daughter - (So if she saw or heard it - she would know I loved and missed her and wanted her home). Given the amount of money spent on "marketing" Madeleine - this was not a wise choice. IMO
