Will he or won\'t he?
Will he or won't he?
Just a light hearted thread before Wednesday's proceedings.
How many here think GM will attend/testify on Wednesday, or whatever day he is scheduled to by the Judge? Will Mr Amaral's lawyers ok it?
If you don't think he will attend/testify, what will be his excuse, either serious OR let's see some good, funny excuses (keep 'em clean and not libellous)..........
i.e. poor example here........
I don't think GM will attend because he will be making a cake for the twins with some child friendly toppings
(I know that's rubbish)

Hi Candyfloss, logic and reason says McCann won't. But his debatable personality transcends logic and reason which suggests he will. I hope he does...

Yes, this is crazy really even to a blind man, but I think he is going to attend. Simply because as a narcissist, he wont be able to resist. Control, control, control is his watch-word.
He thinks he is right even when in a situation that could be disastrous he thinks he will be able to manipulate the situation as always.

I think he`ll attend too. So will Martin Brunt who will have already been primed with suitable questions. And Thursdays headlines will be "Once more into the fray for our Gerry".

Yes I think he will attend.
He could always say he's missed his 'plane if he doesn't, but if that happens the judge will deffo not be pleased imo. ha ha.
Oh by the way Mr. don't forget to tell your mate Pinky Mitchell not to buy his stray dogs a certain dog food - WINALOT - cos it aint gonna happen.

I think he will. He is the controller, the man with the white board. I have a feeling whenever he gives a good answer, he will look at the Judge and say 'you heard that didn't you'.

Re: Will he or won't he?
I think if he's allowed to testify then he will have no choice, given that he felt perfectly able to pop over purely on the off-chance of testifying when there were no guarantees...
I can't imagine how he could satisfactorily explain suddenly deciding not to.
Although I suppose there's already plenty he can't satisfactorily explain....

Re: Will he or won't he?
It must be a frightening prospect for GM to testify if he does as he has no idea what questions are going to be fired at him. Over the past 6 years he and KM have been able to control their interviews and what questions they were going to be asked and what their answers would be, but to be on a stand in a court of law with the whole world listening and watching, gosh it could be car crash viewing.
I'm not saying that out of any spite, but the McCanns have brought in on themselves and only have themselves to blame.

True - maybe he'll ask the court to supply the questions 2 hours in advance like the rest of the world has to do...

Nothing would surprise me knowing the arrogance and the self of entitlement the McCanns have.gbwales wrote:True - maybe he'll ask the court to supply the questions 2 hours in advance like the rest of the world has to do...

He'll miss his flight (doesn't wear a watch don't forget). On his way on a later flight saves a drunk in the road and a passenger. Arrives late at the court and can't remember which door to use so tries to find an open window, gets caught climbing through window and finally the PJ have something to arrest him for.

Re: Will he or won't he?
Me neither Newintown but he's not going to get the same fawning treatment in Portugal as he does in the U K.
It's bound to be a tremendous shock to his system.

Re: Will he or won't he?
Purely from a moral perspective, he should testify as should his wife. They have brought an action to extract 1.2M euro and over the past years have had GA's family assets frozen and his property (the stock of book) seized then held unlawfully when they should have been released to him. They assert they are their for justice and for their child therefore it will seem cowardly if neither of them takes the stand and puts their case to the judge personally. ID did not give the impression she is for GMcC facing questions and as his lawyer should have done everything possible to dissuade him as there is a lot more at stake here than simply a lot of cash. But he is committed to appearing providing the other side agree to it and since there is no reason for them to object and every reason to let him take the stand, I would say he will testify.

It will depend if everybody's pockets are full, then it will all end.
But if it carries on, I'm guessing he will attend, and he will be allowed to get away again, they're all too scared!

So far we are split 50/50 as to whether he will testify.

I do hope he testifies although I'm worried that being put under so much pressure will make his already high-pitched voice audible only to dogs

Re: Will he or won't he?
These are some serious narcissists, so my bet is that he thinks he can turn this all their way again, iaw he will testify if he's allowed to. How he's going to react on some serious interrogating is going to be a whole other issue.
What a pity we don't have a camera in the courtroom, I would pay to be there.

Right on the mark!
I think he'll throw a hissy fit when he gets a question he did not submit before.
