McCann family to launch fighting fund

A fighting fund will be launched by the McCann family and could be used to finance private detectives to join the hunt.
The family has instructed one of the country's leading legal specialists on child abduction to help them run the foundation, which is expected to be launched tomorrow.
Michael Nicholls QC was head of the Lord Chancellor's Child Abduction Unit for five years and is, among other things, a member of the Family Justice Council's International Family Law Committee.
Mr Nicholls was instructed by the McCanns' solicitors, The International Family Law Group, who have sent their solicitor Richard Jones to Portugal to be with them.

One of the offers of help we’d received came from a paralegal based in Leicester, via a colleague of Gerry’s. He worked for a firm specializing in family law, the International Family Law Group (IFLG). It was difficult to know what this company could do but we decided it would be worth meeting them to discuss the possibilities. So on the afternoon of Friday 11 May, the paralegal, accompanied by a barrister, flew out to Portugal.[..]
As well as this initial meeting we had two further sessions with the lawyers over the course of that weekend to explore how they might be able to assist us. There had already been some speculation in the press, based on those erroneous reports that when Madeleine was taken we were dining ‘hundreds of metres away’, that we could face prosecution for negligence. After examining the proximity of the Tapas restaurant to apartment 5A, the barrister first of all assured us that our behaviour could not be deemed negligent and was indeed ‘well within the bounds of reasonable parenting’.

Amber Connections Ltd. Amanda (Jayne) Hart


Members of the McCanns family asked her would she go and see if she could help find Madeleine ....Amanda is a physic and flew out with two other people Amanda had set up a new company with another physic called Ben Murphy.
It was set up on April 28th 2007 the day the McC,s and group flew to Portugal ....Madeleine goes missing on May 3rd .....10th of May Gerry and Gary Titley (An MP I believe) start talking about Amber Alert.
Amanda Hart did use the name Amber Connections prior to 2007 but prior to May 2007 it had just been a 'spiritual development' service: it was only in April 2007 that it became a fully fledged 'missing persons', 'psychic detective' enterprise.

Amanda Hart was in Portugal until June I believe. As early as 8th May Kate was with a psychic taking photographs of a boat which she passed on tot the police.

I spoke to Kate McCann on Tuesday 8th of May 07. She told me that a friend of her Aunt & Uncle from Leicester had a friend that had a strong vision that Madeleine was on a boat with a man in the Marina in Lagos.

This person arrived in Portugal and has spoke to Kate. They have visited the Marina and identified the boat as "SHEARWATER". They saw a man on the boat but this was not the same man that she had in her vision.

I spoke with Kate today and she has given me photographs of the boat. She has also given me a photograph of a man who had been on the boat. This is not the man that the woman had in her vision.

This correspondence, concerning information provided by Kate McCann don't forget, has to be read very carefully. Although the page is undated, 'I spoke to Kate McCann on Tuesday 8th of May 07' is clearly a reference to a past action. Furthermore, the conversation to which it refers describes past activity itself, placing the vision, certainly, at a time prior to Tuesday 8 May (some time between May 4th and May 8th, no doubt). But what about that person's arrival in Portugal and their visit to the Marina?

Strange that Gerry wasn't introduced to the Amber Alert System on his visit to the NCMEC. (Whose president is now under investigation).
The Amber Alert system was promoted by the McCanns and in April 08 they were in Strassbourg to do so.
I wonder if the role of European Mediator was earmarked for Gerry.

Took a long time though, although the association with Missing People started early, the arguido status may have put a damper on it.

One can also reverse the sequence: in order to become ambassador or even European Mediator for Amber Alert or Missing People, it's certainly a step in the right direction to be closely related to a missing child.

And it obviously also helps if by your own admitted actions, you have made a significant contribution to the fact that the child is missing.
