I hope they find Etan's body. The family are Jewish, it will be very important to them to have a body, to make a proper burial.

It was the disappearance of this particular child on 25th May 1979 which led to this day being chosen for International Missing Children's Day.

Sadly nothing was found as a result of the search referred to earlier. There is a report today that a man has confessed to the murder but whether this is true has yet to be established.

Shibboleth, I hope you don't take this the wrong way but I think regardless of them being Jewish it is important for any parent to have a body to bury in such circumstances. I think his parents are amazing people. A prayer from every religion belongs to them.

Could you supply a link please Moa; that's news to me. From what I've read, nothing was found during the search and the person who made the confession has mental health issues and may have nothing to do with the crime.

Obviously the lawyer is saying he has mental issue but: " In a case that hinges on a disputed confession, the judge said there was enough evidence to sustain the charges against Pedro Hernandez of Maple Shade, N.J. He is accused of killing 6-year-old Etan Patz, last seen walking to his Manhattan school bus stop in 1979."
