Ok, so it's not appropriate for SY to question the McCanns since it's a Portuguese investigation, why IS it therefore appropriate for them to question other suspects? What's the difference? If in the course of this enquiry they uncover a new suspect, they wouldn't be able to formally question them either, just hand them over to the Portuguese. To be fair they have been saying from the beginning that Operation Grange is to tie up loose ends and rule people out, rather than in. So the question remains, WHY have the McCanns been given this completely unprecedented level of support? It seems even more incredible when you take into account them being former suspects. What sort of hold do they have over the powers that be that means they get this? Unfortunately this is no longer about Madeleine, these are the important questions now. Really awful.

It was never about Madeleine from day one.

Otherwise Madeleine's body would not have been concealed to save their own skin.

I remember a discussion on here when OG started. There was talk about how much could British police get themselves involved. The conclusion I gathered was. If British Nationals were mixed up one way or another in a serious crime abroad. They could.

What's this case got to do with ex-copper Peter Kirkham, he's never been officially assigned to the case of missing Madeleine McCann as far as I'm aware, so why is he sticking his beak in? Another retired cop with a new career as media personality on the horizon?

Why is Australia so embroiled in this case - haven't they got their own domestic issues to report? Quite understandable in May 2007 for the case to be international news but ten years later? Kirkham, during this interview, is a non event. He's talking text book and media reports and ignoring the important factors that have made this case into what we see today.

Kirkham is yet another ex-cop that's been sniffing around the case over the years but totally lacking any true understanding - so why seek him out for a televised interview? He is even mentioned right at the end of this short 2013 video from across the pond..

Hi Verdi,to be fair Ex SY Detective Mr Kirkham tried to answer as best as he could on certain points and at least gave an "Honest Opinion" as to Madeleine being Alive,un-like other persons one sided beliefs!
