The event was only nine days after Madeleine's disappearance.

By way of reasoning, it has been rumoured the parents McCann were amused by a couple of balloons that broke free and floated into the sky.

What's so funny?

That photographic evidence doesn't look much like distraught parents of a three year old child that had disappeared off the face of the earth only nine days prior - their own child!

Gerald and supporting actress look to me as though they've just walked off with an Oscar!

Edgar disappeared and the contract was not renewed shortly after he went public with the 'Chloroform' idiocy,
forgetting that his clients were not only doctors, but that Kate had been a Junior Registrar Anaesthetist
and that both had 'O' level Chemistry.
Which clearly neither he nor Cowley did.

They were therefore sacked, to stop embarrassing questions about their general knowledge and overall competence being asked.

The bigger question is – why were they contracted in the first place and why was the company invented some time AFTER
Mitchell had announced it ?
Who was the Fat Controller at that point ?
