Apart from the obvious as in a WAR Memorial...  it seems though that Madeleine has become a  "casualty " of a pro/anti/media/ mccann war?

It is IMO for the media  & gullible public... Unless of course you know she is "dead" ?
Then a "memorial" is fitting.
Speak for yourself - I'm not at war with anyone or anything connected to this case.

A war memorial is inappropriate and in extremely bad taste whichever way you spin it.
I agree the war memorial is very inappropriate and has nothing at all to do with a missing child case. Makes me wonder who's idea it was in the first place?

Yes it is inappropriate, please see my previous post. There is and was no "spin"! As for whose idea, it's anyone's guess? Another PR exercise?

It is the best place in Rothley for photo opportunities.  There's no PR mileage in having people come to the house instead.
Although if I had a lost relative listed on that war memorial, I'd be fuming.  I'd have all that bloody green and yellow tat ripped off, for a start.

You mean the green and yellow ribbons in the hair, tied around a tree and suddenly appearing on the lamps outside their home when SP made an "impromptu" visit? nod

Yes, the green and yellow colour scheme specifically chosen to appeal to Celtic supporters.

Well, I suppose it is, in a way.  Hope that the good people of Glasgow's Southside are gullible enough to part with their cash.  Fortunately most of them are not that daft.
