Taken from the 60 Reasons book this is 'reason 29' that Madeleine was not abducted.

Kate McCann confessed to her mother on the ‘phone, soon after Madeleine disappeared: ‘It was an accident, Mum, it was an accident’

When Kate McCann initially reported Madeleine’s disappearance to her mother, she said:

“There’s been a disaster”, itself a very odd term to use if there had been an abduction, or kidnap - and especially as she said it only a few minutes after Madeleine had apparently gone missing.

As the conversation with her mother progressed, and Kate’s mother wanted to know more, Kate said to her mother: ‘It was an accident, Mum, it was an accident’.

The term ‘accident’ could not refer to the abduction; Kate was clearly referring to something else that had happened to Madeleine that could be described as ‘an accident’.

The use of the term’ accident’ is far more likely to have been referring to Madeleine’s death than to her abduction.

Does anyone have a source for this confession please?

Susan Healy:

"Kate phoned me, errm… about an hour after Gerry and asked me to get in touch with, errm… Paul Seddon, who is the priest, Father Seddon, who married her, who baptised Madeleine, errm… and I didn't have his mobile phone so I rang a friend of Kate's and got… got him and he rang Kate right away and I think as soon as this happened, as soon as Kate realised what had happened, it was as if, errm.. she started to ask God right away to give her Madeleine. Errm… because Kate and Gerry were not the most devout family."

Yes, especially as she was amongst all the people who allowed the case to be shelved.

According to Dr Amaral all any of them had to do was to write a letter to the Public Ministry to request the investigation stayed open and all it would cost them was the stamp on the letter.

Why didn't Susan Healy write a letter to keep the investigation open to find her granddaughter?

With all those public donations from pensioners and schoolchildren surely they had enough money to buy a stamp?

Quote from Gonçalo Amaral: "I remind you that they “demanded” the archiving of the process, in 2008, when they were arguidos, merely to defend their image. They are not interested in the reopening of the process or of the investigation"

Why wouldn't they be interested?

They said Madeleine was 'findable'.

What do they think was happening to Maddie in those in-between years whilst being holed up with a paedophile in a "secret lair in a lawless village of PDL" according to Dave Edgar?
