Sorry if this has already been discussed before. Everytime I think I have a scenario that could fit, timelines etc, it just brings up more questions. My mind is boggled. I am actually dreaming about this now. The main question I have with the theory that there was a tragic accident that had been covered up was where could the body have been hidden? Everyone ran back to the McCanns apartment after KM discovered MM was missing, she couldn't have been in there. But then around 10 o'clock there is the Smith sighting of the man who looked similar to GM carrying the little girl similar to MM.

The Smith sighting happened sometime between 9.50 pm - 10 pm. Kate McCann returned to the apartment shortly after 9.55 pm, she raised the alarm around 10 pm, possibly a few minutes later. The distance from the McCann's apartment to where the Smith sighting happened is approximately a 6 minute walk. A couple of minutes from the beach.

Everyone, that is, the Tapas group with the exception of Diane Webster who was asked to remain at the restaurant table to mind their belongings, followed Kate to the apartment just after 10 pm. A few minutes later other Mark Warner staff and guests arrived.

So GM was at the Tapa's bar when the Smith sighting took place? I watched the full video of the dogs searching the T9 apartments and the perimeter of the apartments earlier. One of the dogs gave a signal at the flower bed. And have just seen in a video that GM was gone for a while at some point... Watching football.

Only according to the colouring book version of events. Independent witnesses said the Tapas table was empty by 21.40, so K must have left before then
That makes the timeline very different
