The Hubbards were reportedly burgled
I decided to post this after I came across it by accident while looking for info online about the Hubbards.
I didn't realise that the Hubbards were burgled in Pria da Luz and I'm wondering who might have have had reason to burgle them and why. I can think of a few answers! Isn't it a stange coincidence that their laptop should have been taken in a burglary? The contents of which might have been of interest to a few parties.

‘I don't suppose it will distract them from their endeavours this weekend, but two of Kate and Gerry McCanns' closest friends in Praia da Luz have been burgled ahead of the Madeleine anniversary.
Anglican vicar Haynes Hubbard and his wife Susan have had a computer that contains personal and confidential email exchanges between the two couples.
The laptop also held notes on which Father Hubbard was basing his sermon about Madeleine at the weekendMrs Hubbard is concerned, too, about private telephone numbers stored on a mobile that was also stolen.
The Hubbards became great friends and comforters of the McCanns in the days after Madeleine's disappearance and have kept in touch since Gerry and Kate returned to the UK.’

Re: The Hubbards were reportedly burgled
If true, this information is of the essence
What information could the good Hubbards possibly be suspected of harbouring, that neededsafeguarding wiping out?
As, say, all those boxes from Metodo 3 we saw being carried off when SY hit their offices last year?
Peter Mac, spare a thought here, could you please?

Re: The Hubbards were reportedly burgled
The Hubbards flew in on the 6th of May. H.Q. Hubbard was installed on the 19th - (sounds rather like a boiler being fixed) . In his TV interview and in an earlier radio interview he makes as many slips as the McCanns do. 'they have two - pause - three children - when I came into the presence of the McCanns..' etc. I'm surprised he doesn't kneel and kiss their feet the way he talks about them.
Being known as 'Father Hubbard' doesn't endear him any more to me either. It is fake, he's not high church as far as I can find out. I've come to the conclusion it was yet another bit of spin: Father Hubbard in charge of sanctifying the McCanns. Perhaps he had instructions on the laptop - from above so to speak.

Re: The Hubbards were reportedly burgled
"The British priest staged everything" seems to be a quote from an interview [Semanário Privado, 1 July 2009 - Paper Edition Only] with the Portuguese priest, father José Manuel, in the context:
"And, specifically, you participated in religious acts for the girl
Madeleine. Have you ever noticed in the existence of a pink blanket that
belonged to the child?
- I participated, but I don’t know anything. The British priest, called
by Madeleine parents, it was him who celebrated all the masses. In that
context, the only thing that I could do for her was to pray. The other
priest is the one who knows a lot – and he staged everything – it was
him who made statements and who spoke to the PJ."

Re: The Hubbards were reportedly burgled
So there should be something in the PJ files.
When do the Hubbards first get a mention in the book? Because both of them were already there when the searches were still going on - as testified by H.Q.H himself in his interviews. They saw the helicopters on TV and heard them flying over at the same time, so 'they were the news'.

Re: The Hubbards were reportedly burgled
hmmmm.... how was Kate described in last week's news ..a devout Catholic?
I do not think that a devout Catholic would have anyone but the Catholic priest in PdL celebrating masses for her daughter.
Nor do I think that such a person would miss mass on Sunday, even if 29th April was the real first tiring day of the holiday. The children were in creche, did either McCann go to Mass at the Catholic church? Mass was said on Sunday in PdL, wasn't it?
Not according to the files or the book was mass attended.
So, no, not devout Catholics at all.

Re: The Hubbards were reportedly burgled
Here in the village mass is said only on the first Sunday of the month. My live-in Polish constructor would nevertheless go to the local church every single Sunday ...
