This is quite a short piece by Textusa but as usual, very interesting. I'm not too bothered about the tables but it may well be important.
The comments are well worth reading and what occurred to me, if the T9 only paid their drinks with credit cards, who was paying for the food?
I can't see them having paid for everybody a week in advance. Especially since there were absentees every evening.
So I'm wondering, did the 10th Tapa pick up the bill for the food? Which, if it is the one I have in mind, he could well afford to do?

This makes no sense, they all had breakfast (except for the McCanns, they claim?) at the Millenium because it was part of their holiday no other reason...Their first night April 28th, they went to the Millenium because it was part of their holiday , no other reason.

Bridget O'Donnell in her article also speaks of a large table she also changes the date of Madeleines tennis lesson from Tuesday to Thursday..we know the McCanns pressured the couple but Bridget falls short of saying she saw Madeleine on Thursday morning she will only commit herself to saying ' she must have been there'

Hi tigger,

There is loads on here somewhere about the meals being included. I will look for it. The meals were included at the tapas bar and there are waiter statements to prove this, which I posted up before.

It makes sense that Tapas was part of inclusive deal in that it was at a premium to get a booking. Maybe that was why the place kept a limit on the numbers of OC diners who no doubt had a special rate albeit paid direct by OC. Also was it an issue that children were not accommodated in Tapas Bar wheras the Millenium was more child friendly with kiddie menus, high chairs, playthings. Was the Millenium a self service type of place? were there other reasons to prefer Tapas in addition to its proximity to their accomodation?

what is realy odd is their going to this lovely place and barely venturing outside the OC grounds. Not wanting to walk too far at night with little ones ok, but I bet there were plenty of families with strollers in the evening and babies and toddlers who had fallen asleep during after a family dinner. I have never read anywhere about any of this lot going for a stroll to look at bars, cafes and restaurants, little gift shops, to explore their surroundings a little,evenings or afternoons. Confined to the OC. I wonder why this place held more interest for them than the village outside.

Thats a good question russiandoll. From all the associated news etc they seem to belong to the age group and social strata of the superfit. The joggin runs for charridee,tennis,cycling to work. Used to work with someonee of a similar age and fitness freak or what? Nothing wrong with it of course but it sometimes gets to be to the detriment of everything else. Anything to avoid the nitty gritty of being an actual parent. Of course also to build up the illusion that creating awareness is a preferable option to physically searching. You are right there doesnt seem to be any of the holiday type activities as a family
Just a regime of sleep eat creche tennis jog activity and being into friends. This might also account for the 'witness' idea that brits on holiday wear shorts or cropped trousers, a sweeping generalisation to add to the idea of the abductor (alleged) neing a 'swarthy foreigner' and thus suspicious for not being in brit holiday uniform. Personally any male over 25 imo looks pretty ridiculous in cropped trousers but hey fashion not my strong suit. I also despise baseball caps. It also adds fuel to the idea that it was not an 'enjoy yourself ' type of holiday I believe.

I think it was an essential part of the story that they didn't know PdL at all - at all, to be Irish about it.
That's why they had to ask a GNR officer where the church was (surely usually the easiest building to find) on the night of the 3rd.
Only thing is, there seems to be good evidence that they knew all about Chaplins Bar, right next to the church. In addition, it is my opinion that they'd been there before or at least Gerry had been in PdL before.
In fact the Millenium was further than many restaurants in the village from their apartments.
Imo too, Gerry took the walk through PdL when seen by the Smiths, so again, essential they didn't know the town at al. At all, just so you're sure that's clear then.
Goodness, otherwise they'd have been to mass the previous Sunday, ardent catholics that they are.

You have hit the nail on the head RD , this group acted so alien to what a holiday with children is like , as I have said in other posts these resorts are very child friendly and even go out of their way to accomodate them. Even when my youngest was nearly 6 I still took a fold up buggy and had many a lovely evening/night strolling around all the little shops , along the piers if we were near the sea and we could stop and have a drink or two while she slept in the buggy. Quite frankly their holiday was weird , it is not as if they were unfit lazy people , just selfish IMO

Between the creche, tapas and sporting records the police were busy beavers matching everything up, querying discrepancies and tying in the rogs, diary etc. It doesn't explain how JT or one of her bloodline wound up in Burgau with RM, the man she tired to shop or why the McCann family were identified as having eaten at the Millennium every morning and in a few locations down the coast by other locals.

I have seen this somewhere before , is there any links to show JT and RM Burgau connection ?

Thank you One , yes I have read that before , all very interesting , it kind of goes off track with the photographs , however I am amazed that the DNA and JT and RM was not checked , did they really find their DNA there ? , do we know where that information came from ?

I have had a look at the link re these apartments and on page 3 of the thread a post by Rosa at 10.44am there is the photo of the blue eye shadowed Madeleine. It shows more of the blue than I have seen before and I am sure it is the plastic chair. There has been mention that it was a teeshirt or towel but on that photo It is clearly the plastic chair imo.
