I think this is a fascinating subject. Is there some sort of psychological protocol for negotiating with an abductor? Would the McC's have had an advisor in what to say, how to say it and how to dress etc? Are code words used? Is it wrong to mention there is a substantial amount of money as a reward?

Now you mention it, the reward money was never mentioned in interviews I think.

The newspapers mentioned it - because some of that money would have come from them. I also wonder how prominently that reward was displayed on their own website. The average viewer would see the amount of 2.5 + million and might assume there was plenty of money in the kitty? If it wasn't displayed was that because it would have meant less income for the Company?

listened carefully twice, have to disagree. I heard" take her to a place of safety " not keep her safe.
Kate McCann has hardly any make up on, a bit of lip gloss is all I see as for her hair it is casually tied back and hardly looks "done". I noticed the earrings at the time, however bearing in mind that she seems a creature of routine she probably just picks up a pair to hand each morning as part of getting dressed and does it without thinking as I do, having pierced ears.
She had probably been advised on how sticking to routine would help her cope mentally, and reading from a script was possibly advised as was the wording, to measure her speech and keep it controlled.
I do not think she looks anywhere near as composed as her husband, she looks agitated and nervous to me.

When my dad almost died i also wished god would take him to a place of safety. Asking a kidnapper to take Tour Child to a place of safety makes no sence. The "kidnapper" is god and she knows that. Shes takling about the bible. A safe place is heaven.

I understand what you are saying, however I have heard appeals like this before where the perpetrator is pleaded with, to leave the abducted person somewhere safe where he/she can be retrieved and subsequently returned to home and family.
Maddie needs to be with them, they and the twins need her...... this is an appeal for a child to be returned imo.

Once again I agree, Russiandoll. A place of safety in this context means somewhere like a church, a hospital or a police station where a child will be soon found and returned to its parents.

It can also mean a place where the child is safe from its own parents, and does not run the risk of being returned to them !

Just wondering. If they talk about god...they Can say they are innocent...they didnt have anything to dó with it (god did)...they wont even have o feel guilt. Im pretty sure those parents know what happened that Night. Im sure it was an accident. And im sure that they know, that it Will forever be a mysteri what happened to Madeleine for everyone else. The corpes is gone. The evidence is gone. Focus are All other places. They made sure the focus moved so fast away from them, by an intence campaign that Will continue to move focus. Whatever the conclution Will be from police, they Will never be abel to establish what happened that Night and even more prove it. The worst thing happened to Their kid....and they never even looked for her. Why.....becoz of the fear they might turn police in the Right direction wanting to ore not. And left is only to guess what happened. The fond Will keep the parents in a financial safe place with donations from som of the worlds most powerfull people, making Them untoucheble. Look what happened to the guy saying that they did it.I believe Madeleine is dead and accidentally killed by the people she trusted the most. Mom and dad. And mom and dad made sure she was gone - but not forgotten.

Kate - I do, I mean to me Madeleine was a gift, most our life is pretty public anyway, but you know obviously we had quite a difficult time trying to have Madeleine and when she was born I really did believe she was a gift and I never took her for granted you know every day when I’d wake up and I’d see these huge eyes looking at me and I’d say thank God for Madeleine. I don’t believe he would stop loving her now or abandon her and I don’t believe that at all, and I do get a comfort in thinking that that wherever she is whoever she is with that he is with her and protecting her, protecting her spirit and she’s got a lot of spirit. God is for sure looking after her and keeping her in a safe place becoz the twins and the parents need that. Twins need Their parents not i jail so ofcoz if god Can please put her i a "safe" place becoz they All "need Madeleine". Hell...the evidence May come from the twins one Day telling what realy happened...they are probably the Best widnesses left
