Because they don't have to and don't want to?

From the findmadeleine website: Fund Objectives

"To secure the safe return to her family of Madeleine McCann who was abducted in Praia da Luz, Portugal on Thursday 3rd May 2007;

To procure that Madeleine's abduction is thoroughly investigated and that her abductors, as well as those who played or play any part in assisting them, are identified and brought to justice; and

To provide support, including financial assistance, to Madeleine's family.

If the above objects are fulfilled then the objects of the Foundation shall be to pursue such purposes in similar cases arising in the United Kingdom, Portugal or elsewhere."

well if I had a Fund and a missing child, I wouldn't share the money if I didn't have to.

But I would actually be looking for the child and would hire competent detectives. I wouldn't be wasting the money suing people for having an opinion.

Thanks Gillyspot and Pauline. We all agree. I wonder though, should the Fund lose support, to keep the bucks rolling in perhaps the next step is to set it up as a charity by including other parents. Just my humble opinion here.

Its possible they might now apply for charity status and include other missing children in the company's brief but I don't think they will because charity accounts have more onerous reporting requirements and the McCanns don't do openness and transparency even though Kate said in the book that whatever it cost the Fund would be open and transparent.

Like many people I believe the McCanns always wanted an ordinary limited company because the disclosure requirements are minimal.

Action speaks louder than words......Their actions have mainly been to sue/threaten anyone with an opinion that does not conform with theirs, and a bit spent on bogus/corrupt investigators. I haven't seen any of the money being spent wisely or to show how serious they are in finding Maddie

kate gets publicity & paper columns for her 'words' of supporting other missing children but no 'actions' from their fund to help them. Carter ruck seem to be the main winners from the fund....what have they do with child abductors?

Perhaps if the fund dwindles there will be a real job and another opportunity to sparkle in the media by spearheading a charity to save the world. Gotta keep up appearances.
