I cannot believe they write this. I do not buy that they are this naive. They should only hope for her return, not that she brings j o y to her kidnappers.
They write as if she is not missing under a dark cloud of horrible scenario's for more than 4 years.

So since Kate seems to think that Madeleine has been "abducted" by a "paedophile gang" what sort "joy" will she share. Ughh.

I have said before that the McCanns need to be very careful that they do not use ambiguous language which can be misinterpreted as a sick in-joke. This description of Madeleine on their website sounds to me like something an adult seeking a partner would say about him or herself. Added to Kate's comment in her novel - "not being with her today, loving her, pleasing her, enjoying her delight, was unbearable" - I am left with very disturbing thoughts which believe me I would rather not have.

Wasn't the website originally started by a teenager (nephew of one of the family) who obviously had no interest in Madeleine (he even spelt her name wrong) or no insight into what Madeleine was like.

It is quite obvious that Madeleine's parents had no interest in the website either, it was just a "marketing ploy" and a guise to get innocent people to send them lots of dosh, the only interest they had was in themselves giving endless boring info on how long it took them to run up "so and so hill" or when they had their hair cut.

There was not one iota of information on what the real Madeleine was like, her favourite toys for instance, if she was learning to read, what she liked to eat, her favourite clothes. If she was really abducted wouldn't you think the McCanns would be ensuring that they told the abductor through the media what Madeleine liked to eat or drink, she could be starving otherwise if they were trying to feed her food she could not eat. I would be desperate to make it known what my "abducted" daughter's favourite food was, I would be terrified she was been given food that made her ill.

Or perhaps the McCanns didn't know their own daughter due to the fact she was left in a creche all day or with hired Nannies, only to be brought out on birthdays or Bank Holidays neatly dressed when the grandparents visited.

I am sure I read somewhere that the Mccanns were told not to give out information about Madeleines likes and dislikes as people could use this to falsely claim that they had Madeleine. Unlike the eye defect when told not to disclose it as it could be her death sentence they used it as a marketing ploy.

They are making such a big effort to find poor Madeleine that they haven't even bothered updating the missing persons website (which Phil McCann is supposed to have some connection with). Same photograph of Madeleine with the red dress and states:

"Madeleine has been missing from Praia da Luz, south-west Portugal since around 10pm on 3 May 2007. Despite extensive searches and a widespread publicity campaign, there has been no news since and Madeleine s whereabouts remain a mystery. There is great concern for Madeleine s welfare and her parents are desperate for news of her. Madeleine, is 2ft 11in tall, with long blond hair and green eyes. She has a distinctive right eye as the pupil runs into the iris."

Or is it "just a fleck" "hardly noticable except on photographs" as told to Piers Morgan by Kate.

Total narcissist! ' she is a life-enriching etc....' So she is valued for what she can do for you and others, not for what she is? Can we have any info on what Maddie loves (apart from pink) certain games or stories she loved, no she brings joy and sunshine to all.

If I had a little girl missing, I'd say what she loves to eat and to do, what she likes to wear and so on. It would do no harm,even if she'd been abducted by
paedophiles, because they would know how to make her more comfortable.
Perhaps the reason we haven't heard much about that is because they don't know?

I certainly agree with you Shibboleth about that quote as does another member Marian. It really is odd terminology for a mother to use about a young child.
