A letter to supporters from Kate, Gerry, Madeleine, Sean and Amelie x

We have obtained a copy of a letter currently being sent out by the McCanns to their supporters, well-wishers, and those who e.g. continue to buy wristbands. I can't scan it and otherwise reproduce it, but here is the text:

Dear

Thank you so much for your support.

Four years may have passed since we last saw Madeleine but this doesn’t mean she couldn’t be found tomorrow. Your help and kindness reinforce our hope and strength.

We are very pleased the Metropolitan Police will be conducting a review of Madeleine’s case. This is something we have been requesting for several years and truly believe it will bring us one step nearer finding our daughter. We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported our plea to the government on Madeleine’s behalf.

Whilst the review is taking place, we obviously need to continue the search for Madeleine. We are very appreciative to everybody who has bought and read my book as this will help to sustain these efforts and increase our chances of finding her.

We will never give up on Madeleine. Whatever it takes, we still believe we can get there.

I have seen this letter myself. The photo at the top is indeed the awful suggestive photo of Madeleine with an ice cream and the letter is signed on behalf of the McCanns by Kate's cousin Aileen Kennedy.

I'm afraid all these trips abroad are not making them any money, touring with the book to several countries is likely to have been in the contract. The advance hasn't yet been earned and I'd be highly surprised if it is going to be a hit in either Brazil, Hungary, or Germany, Ulan Bator hasn't had a royal visit yet either.
J.K. Rowling is strangely silent and unsupportive of K's efforts? Didn't Kate intimate she'd helped her write it and this prompted Rowling to state publicly that she had nothing to do with the writing of the book or indeed giving advice. She'd only passed the name of her agent on to Kate.
I get the impression Rowling regrets doing even that much.

Just so that we remember.
In Brazil they speak Portuguese. So it is not another translation, just a re-print.
Or perhaps trying to off load the un-sold copies ....

I think you could both be right. Why would anyone in Brazil have even heard about Madeleine McCann, why would they even care? They have enough of their own children going missing / living on the streets / living in terrible poverty.

I doubt if they will be able to read it anyway as Portugese in Portugal is quite different from the Portugese spoken in Brazil. My friend's son in studying Portugese in Brazil, he should know as he also speaks Portugese as spoken in Portugal and he says they are very different.

With their greed for money I'm surprised they haven't put her book in the China market. If only 10% of the mainland chinese speak English that alone is more than the entire uk population!
