Kate McCann’s book has raised £2m for Madeleine

KATE McCANN’S book about the disappearance of her daughter has already raised £2million for the Madeleine fund.
In three weeks, 165,000 copies of Madeleine have been sold in Britain, while the translated version is flying off the shelves in Portugal, where it hit number four in the top 10 last week.
Claudia Nogueria, who speaks for the McCanns in Portugal, said: “We hope it will reach the number one position and that somebody living here with important information will come forward.”
The book has also shot to the top of the charts in Australia and will soon be launched in Holland and Spain.
The 384-page hardback is Kate’s account of the disappearance of her three-year-old daughter on a family holiday in 2007.

Kate's book sells because it is full of sex,(her and Gerry) violence, (her bad temper and mood swings) filthy language (against PJ and G Amoral)and sickening
descriptions of her daughter's private parts .
I sincerely hope she never gets the time to enjoy her £2 million.
Heres hoping that SY take this case seriously and do a reconstruction

She should give the £2million to Scotland Yard so they can find out what happened to their daughter.

The royalties from the book are supposed to be going to the fund, don't know what percentage, but 5%, 10% or even 25% doesn't make it anywhere near 2 million. The whole cost of the book surely wouldn't go to the fund, as the publishers would have to recoup their costs. They don't work for free do they?

Sadly I do not feel that there is any amount of money that can be of the slightest help to Madeleine whom I am convinced left this earth before 3rd May 2007.

If you look at professional sites about publishing books they estimate a royalty of a maximum 72p for a 20 pound book. And probably significantly less for the first tens of thousands of copies.
Interesting though that they wil now have been shot in the foot by that healdine, and will no longer be able to argue that they are short of money and need more.
In other words no one else needs to buy the book. They have enough already.
They have 2m, and the Met Pol are doing the investigation, paid for by the British tax payer.
Always remember that the Fund can legally be used to help the family. It says so in the articles. Clever people, with clever and unscrululous lawyers assisting them.

hi all my first time on here , well i've just collected my book from the library .when i reserved it the lady
said it would be about 3 months ,before i get it as they wait till it slows down in sales before it goes on the shelves
but its not even 4 weeks ,so i was wondering is she right in what shes saying . thanks all zippy

I don't use the library, but that's interesting. So they usually don't get books until the sales slow, didn't realise that, - that's when they probably become cheaper for them to purchase.
