THE 10.41PM CALL Empty THE 10.41PM CALL

THE 10.41PM CALL

Much ado has been made about the delay in phoning police from the Ocean Club on the night that Madeleine McCann was reported missing.
The tapas nine had mobile phones with them on the holiday.
The mobile phone evidence in the Portuguese Police Investigation files shows that the tapas nine stopped using their mobile phones at 8.30pm on the 3rd May 2007 and did not use them again until after police had been called from the Ocean Club reception.
The tapas nine had access to their mobile phones when they rushed back to their apartments after Kate McCann had raised the alarm but chose not use one to phone emergency services which would have alerted police immediately.
Instead they opted to have Matthew Oldfield go back and forth to the Ocean Club Reception which was a 5 minute walk from the McCann's apartment and have the staff there call the police. See map attached.
Fiona Payne told police in her rogatory statement that she was the one that had asked Matthew Oldfield to go to the Ocean Club reception after the alarm had been raised and have staff call police.
Gerry McCann told police in his statement on the 10th May 2007 that he had asked Matthew Oldfield to go to the Ocean Club reception and have them call police.
Matthew Oldfield told police in his rogatory statement that Fiona Payne had asked him to go to the Ocean Club reception after the alarm had been raised and have the staff call police. He also told police that he went back and forth to the Ocean Club reception several times but never made sure that the police had been called.
The 10.41pm call to police was made when the Ocean Club Manager John Hill arrived on site and went straight to the Ocean Club reception.
He then visited the McCann's apartment where he would have informed those present that the police had been called.
10 minutes later the tapas nine began using their mobiles for the first time since 8.30pm.
The mobile phone activity of the Tapas nine on the night that Madeleine McCann was reported missing is evidence that the tapas nine were not urgently seeking police assistance which in turn is evidence that Madeleine McCann was not abducted.

THE 10.41PM CALL Empty Re: THE 10.41PM CALL

So Clarence "they didn't have watches or mobile phones with them" Mitchell is caught out lying yet again.

Why didn't Kate pick up the phone and call the police instead of running back to the tapas bar?

In Kate's novel, madeleine, she claims that they were naïve and called the GNR when they really needed the PJ.   thinking   A deliberate attempt to buy some more time?

THE 10.41PM CALL Empty Re: THE 10.41PM CALL

Last week El Mundo reported that two of the Tapas Nine had contacted Portuguese police to ask to "correct" parts of their statements.

The claim followed speculation that contradictions and inconsistencies in the statements meant that police were about to make four of the group formal suspects in the case.

But it was denied by Mr Mitchell and individually by all of the members of the group contacted by the Daily Mail.

The lawyer was said to have been hired by one of the group in September, and repeated claims that the McCanns did not call the police on May 3 until the group discussed the possible implications of admitting they had all left their children alone while they ate dinner. He said: "The police were only informed after the group in question analysed the problems they could face for having left the children alone."

It appears that they spent 40 minutes working out how to cover their own backs, rather than immediately help a ‘Kidnap victim’.

This is some convoluting account of recorded events thinking

Kate McCann nor any other of the group would have known how to contact the Portuguese police, thus would not be in a position to differentiate between the GNR and the PJ.  The copy of the book I have makes no such claim.

According to the documented story line the Ocean Club reception called the police - and rightly so I venture to suggest.

i don\'t know

The timing of the police alert is indeed conjecture as accounts differ from one witness statement to another, the only fact to be applied is the recorded time of the call as identified in the PJ files.  I think it's been established beyond reasonable doubt that the group created the timeline of events as recorded on Madeleine's sticker book.  This could have been anytime between Saturday 28th April and Thursday 3rd May 2007 when the alert was made by Kate McCann.  I believe we can reasonably question, or even ignore,  anything the McCann's or their group of friends have espoused

Rather than shouting from the apartment balcony which was just across the garden she elected to leave her two remaining very young children alone in the apartment where her precious daughter was .... abducted by a peadophile [sic] .

rolleyes   It's not rocket science is it..

thinking  I definitely read somewhere, a quote from Kate, saying that they requested the GNR as they didn't know any different.  I find that a bit odd as there were people around them who did know.  Mrs Fenn offered to call the police and they refused her offer, why?

Cos she had a plum in her mouth and thought a can of beans had fallen off the shelf titter .

Pamela Fenn witness statement - 20th August 2007

On the 3rd May she received a visit from her niece Carole during the morning, who said that when she was on her terrace she saw a male individual looking into the McCanns apartment, situation which has been told to the police, her family member even made a photo fit"
During the day nothing unusual happened, until almost 22.30 when, being alone again, she heard the hysterical shouts from a female person, calling out ?we have let her down? which she repeated several times, quite upset. Mrs Fenn then saw that it was the mother of little Madeleine who was shouting furiously. Upon leaning over the terrace, after having seen the mother, Mrs Fenn asked the father, Gerry, what was happening to which he replied that a small girl had been abducted. When asked, she replied that she did not leave her apartment, just spoke to Gerry from her balcony, which had a view over the terrace of the floor below. She found it strange that Gerry when said that a girl had been abducted, he did not mention that it was his daughter and that he did not mention any other scenarios. At that moment she offered Gerry help, saying that he could use her phone to contact the authorities, to which he replied that this had already been done. It was just after 22.30.

madeleine by KATE MCCANN

Then a lady appeared on a balcony – I’m fairly certain this was about 11pm, before the police arrived – and, in a plummy voice, inquired, ‘Can someone tell me what all the noise is about?’ I explained as clearly as I was able, given the state I was in, that my little girl had been stolen from her bed, to which she casually responded, ‘Oh, I see,’ almost as if she’d just been told that a can of beans had fallen off a kitchen shelf. I remember feeling both shocked and angry at this woefully inadequate and apparently unconcerned reaction. I recollect that in our outrage, Fiona and I shouted back something rather short and to the point.
