Shaun Kennedy has warned holiday-makers after a man attempted to snatch his son

Shaun Kennedy, 35, from Urmston, Greater Manchester, told how he fought with a man who snatched four-year-old Chase from a lift then tried to flee with him.
Mr Kennedy was enjoying a holiday at the Hotel Best Sabinal in Roquetas de Mar in early June with partner Louise Sellars and their son.
The father and son were in the hotel lift with another man, who stepped out then tried to take Chase with him as the doors started to close.
Now – as Spanish police investigate – the family have gone public to warn others of the sinister incident.
In 2007 three-year-old Maddie was abducted in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Her whereabouts are still unknown.
Mr Kennedy said yesterday: “It has really shaken me up and I’m still in shock. Chase and I got in the lift and a man got in at the first level.

“He was black and about 6ft 3in tall. He was looking at Chase and saying hello.
Chase was screaming and crying
"The doors opened and as they were shutting he grabbed Chase."
Mr Kennedy said he stopped the doors closing: “Chase was screaming and crying. I knocked into the man in the back.
"Chase went flying across the lobby and we started fighting.”
Mr Kennedy said the man then tried to drag Chase away by his legs but he followed him and jumped on him before they began to fight again: “I managed to get him on to the floor and that is when I picked Chase up and just ran away with him.”
He added that his son is now recovering at home but is still waking up in the middle of the night screaming.

EThe Daily Star also has an article about the attempted abduction with the line "it had chilling echoes of the abduction of Madeleine McCann". Would they please point out any similarities as I can't find one. Was Madeleine abducted while getting in a lift? No Madeleine was left in an apartment with her siblings every night alone. Did her parents fight to save her from the alleged abductor? No they weren't there, the only thing the McCann have fought for is money by suing whoever they can.

I'm sad and sorry that the boy and his father had such a frightening experience...but I'm angry at the lazy and cynical opportunistic 'journalism' that pushes this utter rubbish just because Madeleine's name sells newspapers. Appalling.

catching up on the err... Argentinian press over my Breakfast and noticed quite a few articles from Tuesday.

Basically there is some e-fit doing the rounds (on what's app or Instagram) saying this chap is a kidnapper and rapist etc...

But apparently it's the same e-fit that was drawn up by Belgium Police back in 2007 related to Madeleine McCann

Or something like that...

Thx to Andrew, again.

A spokesperson for Thomson said: "These allegations are concerning to hear and we are in direct contact with Mr Kennedy now that he is home. As we understand this is a matter for the authorities in Spain, we aren't in a position to comment further."

.... So they weren't in contact with him when it allegedly 'happened.' 'When he reported it'. 'When the police came'.. or anything like that.

Only when he gets home.

I bet, like the rest of us, they (Thomson) didn't know anything 'about it' until they read it in the paper over breakfast.
