Hair bead and candy sweet bracelet ...
I hope this is posted in the right place as I am new and never posted before although I have enjoyed viewing many of the threads here in support to find the truth for Madeleine. I've searched for information on the hair bead as this has always troubled me as I read in the McCann files that one was found so thank you to the above poster who shared that very same info. The ' last photo' I always believed to be a true photo and agree that perhaps it was not taken on the afternoon of the 3rd. The hair bead looks like a wound around elastic type bead and pale in colour, not pink and not a butterfly clip one that was all the rage at that time for young girls, it is simply an adornment and wonder if that was the same found by the parents bedroom and why it was never tested for Dna? or hair threads to see if it matched Madeleine. Along with this were the early interviews where Kate wore a threaded coloured candy sweet 'bead' type bracelet; they too were very popular with kiddies and the type which you could chew and enjoy until all was left was a sticky stringy thread. Kate McCann wore this on a number of occasions As a bracelet on her wrist and it was the first thing I noticed when she held ' cuddle cat' in those first few interviews , it then simply vanished. I do not know how to link here so if anyone has a photo they could perhaps post it to show. It has puzzled me for a while and wondered if that was a sweet candy bracelet/necklace that once belonged to Madeleine? Thank you for all the hard work everyone is doing to try and get to the bottom of a sad and sorry ( especially for Madeleine) affair. It truly makes your head spin!

Yes! Thank you 1V Richard, :thanks:also on the Ian woods first interview where you can see some ' candy' missing as there is a gap on the thread, this I do believe was Madeleine's ( no proof) just an instinct and wonder if Madeleine had an accident with the ' bracelet' ? All focus was on ' cuddle cat' yet the bracelet was the thing that jumped out to me. We will probably never know after so much time but the ' bracelet' was clearly worn/ shown on those early interviews and not something which was the usual ' jewelry' attire for KM.

Re: Hairband, hair bead, & Kate's bead bracelet
Most of us would assume it was Maddie`s bracelet she was wearing but then, from her usual apparel/style, she does seem to be still in `child` mode on occasions, which GM seems to like.MayMuse wrote:Yes! It`s anybody`s guess whether she was wearing it just because it was Maddie`s or because it had something more sinister attached to it. I think I see where you`re coming from and it`s a possibility when put together with the tracheotomy that some have suggested and ROB missing from dinner (his speciality is Acute Medicine).
Just my wanderings.

Are you being serious? As for the rest of this bilge disguised as 'speculation' I have no words.Richard IV wrote:Most of us would assume it was Maddie`s bracelet she was wearing but then, from her usual apparel/style, she does seem to be still in `child` mode on occasions, which GM seems to like.MayMuse wrote:Yes! Re: Hairband, hair bead, & Kate's bead bracelet
Not sure how to copy and paste comments here and wonder why this is considered ' bilge' ? As for speculations there are many speculations out there due to the blinded nature of Madeleine's disappearance and the parents demeanour, government intervention etc... I agree Km's rather childlike voice in the beginning seemed quite strange in the early interviews broadcast which I did find rather odd. I have read a post by Grandad here and tend to have thoughts along a similar vein as to what may have happened on that 'holiday'! I'm not sure the truth will ever come out but there does seem to be a great deal of conflicting and confusing 'evidence' and 'stories'. Are we to believe that this is one huge cover up for a 'missing child' or that this is the ' norm' ? I have never heard of any missing child's parents being touted like celebrities, or financially rewarded in the manner that they have. So, yes I think that any 'speculation' or ' thoughts' can be considered just like the swinging theories, paedophilia etc... I do not believe that Madeleine was abducted but do have strong feelings towards an accident of some sort. Anyhow this was my first post on the hair bead and if that is considered to be ' bilge' I think it may just be my last ...

Welcome MayMuse...I think aquila was referring to Richard IV's post as she'd highlighted that part of the sentence.
And thank you for bringing this topic back to our attention. I hadn't even seen it before!

Interesting!!
If Madeleine had been chomping on a candy bracelet, surely her DNA would be all over it. Why wasn't this handed to the PJ, especially as her DNA was nowhere else to be found?

From a topic about an elasticated hairband bagged up as potential forensic evidence this thread has turned into 'candy bracelet' with 'I have no proof just a gut feeling' to 'tracheotomy' and all sorts of unsubstantiated things...one poster is just wandering (sic) and another is musing.

Re: Hairband, hair bead, & Kate's bead bracelet
I have found out how to copy/ paste you just click quote, sorry I am not used to forums. Thank you to you also for the acknowledgement. The original post was by NickE and I found it by searching for information on the hair bead after reading a post on the ' last photo' ... I do think it is significant as found in the same place as the cadaver alerts. The ' candy bracelet' was something which I noticed from the early days and whilst this is just an observation it seemed very 'childlike' for KM to be wearing, so considered that perhaps it was something of Madeleine's which she kept close to her. And yes I had thought maybe that an accident could have happened with Madeleiene and ' choking' was a possibility?... Just my own opinions and obviously it has touched a nerve with another member but there are far more ' stranger' observations on blogs etc. I am only here to seek the truth ( if we can find it) for Madeleine, not to engage in any petty comments and am open to others opinions/ information but do not wish to engage in any accusatory debates, that just seems pointless. I just wondered what ( if any) had noticed the bracelet the same as I had?Get'emGonçalo wrote:Welcome MayMuse...I think aquila was referring to Richard IV's post as she'd highlighted that part of the sentence.

Re: Hairband, hair bead, & Kate's bead bracelet
I'm under the impression that the hair bead/ tie was as it was in the evidence files; hair strands, DNA like you say could have perhaps shone a light and if this was Madeleine's bead then to me the fact that KM mentions it with care in the book ' madeleine' it is something again to keep not just discard?sharonl wrote:Interesting!!

As for the 'candy bracelet' nothing is mentioned in the files as it was just worn by KM in the early interviews, so we do not know if it was actually Madeleine's at all. It was just an observation as to why she wore a ' kiddies candy sweet bracelet'. If it was Madeleine', then yes, I agree why did they not offer it to the Pj for testing.

I remember those candy sweet bracelets but this one looks plastic to me. The sweets bracelets never looked shiny.

Re: Hairband, hair bead, & Kate's bead bracelet
Thank you for the images, it does appear to have more of a sheen doesn't it? I have been trying to locate another image which I viewed a long time ago of the 'bracelet' (where there was a stringy gap) but am unable to find it at the moment for comparison. Either way it does seem an odd jewelry item for KM but that is just my opinion! That's also a good close up, I thought for a moment it was the pink blanket laid on her lap,but it looks like they are 'new' pyjamas which were like Madeleine's? Thanks again.

Re: Hairband, hair bead, & Kate's bead bracelet
After first reading how KM was so emphatic that she "carefully removed" the hair bead, and working on the assumption that anything they make a big to do about probably did not happen, like the OP, it caused me to wonder if the hairbead could have been the cause of an accident, leading to the crying event on Tues. night and an unsuccessful attempts to deal with a choking incident behind the sofa.
