Man defrauded Find Madeleine Fund of £100,000 - Two whistleblowers have sworn affifdavits confirming the fraud (Sun, 26 Oct 2015)

This looks like Kevin Halligen.
In which case these 'whistleblowers' have been lying low for 7 years!
What is new, however, is that the fraudster is alleged to have deliberately engaged in false accounting and forgery of hostel and travel receipts.
Whoever did this should be prosecuted.
I am not clear as to why the whistleblowers decided to hand their affidavits to Kate and Gerry, instead of to the police.
Once again, this raises issues as to the responsibility of the McCanns, the McCann Team and indeed all the Directors of the Find Madeleine Fund, who employed this man, for appointing him in the first place.
Given that the amount he defrauded came from pensioners who donated their weekly pensions amd children who donated their weekly pocket money, this is very serious. The Directors of the Find Madeleine Fund in fact face being disqualified from being Directors, as it looks like they cannot be trusted to run a company using due care and diligence. An investigation by Companies House is possible.
Perhaps our resident accountant, Enid O'Dowd, will be along to help and advise us?

The directors didn't miss £100k?
Why was it felt necessary to put in that bit about no wrong doing by Kate and Gerry?

Hmmm where have the Sun been the last number of years? This is not news. Kevin Halligan's 'fraud' from the fund was reported years ago but the McCann's chose to remain silent about it. More smoke and mirrors. Something's in the wind......

Or more likely a reason the mccann's can give to the media for their fund being investigated by the fraud squad. Distinct whiff about it. Why would whistleblowers go to the Sun and not the police and why would the Sun take it to the McCann's and not the police?

The 'distressed, distraught, depressed' parents, who were 'glad', oddly, the investigation, into their 'missing' daughter, Madeleine, was 'closed' and 'it didn't matter' to them, if the investigation 'was EVER re-opened' happily pose in Amsterdam, before 'imploring' OAP's, handicapped kiddies and schoolchildren, to 'donate' to their privately registered ltd company, Madeleines' Fund, LNSU..

Affidavit handed to the McCanns but "there is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by Kate or Gerry who thanked The Sun for the evidence". Something does not add up.
Surely the accountant or auditor would have noticed if claims were put in by "defrauder" and no work reports were submitted to substantiate claims. Besides these claims would need to be vetted, approved and cheque signed by two BOD signatories at least before the paying out.
Is it possible for one man to fool the Mcs and Board of Directors with bogus travel claims without having to produce reports or evidence to substantiate his work progress and/or result of his search?
Don't tell me the Mcs, Board of Directors, accountant and auditor all of them are bunch of idiots easily conned into paying out / approving / auditing large sum of money to contracted PIs without asking questions?
Wasn't it reported KH was paid a few hundred thousands pound for his work, so where does this £100K nonsense come from?

He's never talked about the Mcs case, nor have the McCanns reported him for fraud to the Police.
If he had defrauded the Fund, surely it is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to report him to the Police. Failing to do so is negligence and dereliction of duty.

I don't buy it (certainly not the Sun), another regurgitation of the past for some inexplicable reason. Correct me if I'm wrong but when an affidavit is prepared and duly signed, is it not then held in the custody of the legal profession? Is it normal practice for a sworn affidavit to be handed over to the 'whistleblower' (in this case) to use as he/she pleases?
Why do the McCanns always talk in round figures? If these whistleblowers have detailed information of a suspected fraud why are they talking £100,000 exact and why aren't they handing the information to the police? Why would this sworn affidavit have been passed to The Sun who then passed a copy to Mr. & Mrs?
Would two whistleblowers be entitled to pass a copy of a sworn affidavit to a newspaper and would the newspaper then be allowed to pass a copy to them?

In the absence of a body the fraudulent fund is their Achilles heel. IMO.

In the absence of a scintilla of 'evidence' of an 'abduction', by anyone, and only, ONLY. their 'say so', it is their 'lies' that are their Achilles 'heel', imo.
