That poor man. Guys we all need to somehow reach out and stand behind Dr Amaral, I am worried sick about his health. No one person should have to deal with all this evil.

My husband, who has observed many court cases in Canada, tell me that firing your counsel is quite a common tactic (here, anyway). And when that happens, in Canada, the court case has to start all over again.
Hmm.
Brilliant move on GA's part, if that's the case.
Also denying Kate and Gerry their no-doubt well-rehearsed emotional grandstand appearance.

McCanns looking unhappy, waiting for judge to address whether case can continue.

It could well be the old legal ploy of firing counsel and nullifying the trial. It's one way of tripping the McCanns up as they make "emotional" VIS.

Well that sounds a bit better, I only pray it was planned by GA.

Frankly ANYTHING that disturbs or upsets K&M makes me feel better (I am trying to keep positive thoughts going to GA)
