Well after the revalations we heard this week in paper about C Smith at one time I could barely think there could be such a large cover up about MBM,i am now wide open to realize .how many are envolved? and will we ever see condlusion of this case ?. how high can er go here ,who on earth could warrant this ? joyce1938

Reading the latest news and it turns out it is all over dads drug debt. He was threatened nine weeks ago and owed a few thousand dollars apparently.

I'm no detective but...IMO

The family know who did this but won't talk.
The dad was assaulted a few hours before Chloe turned up. (made a deal/promise for her to be returned?)
We may already know the name of a person involved in this that isn't family.

I wonder when the police make arrest(s)?

The Courier-Mail can reveal Mr Campbell was seen on a street near his house the night Chloe disappeared, about 20 minutes before his daughter went missing.

1, The Campbells claim to have been in bed from 1am to 7am?
2, The Courier are confirming the CCTV is of Garth then? Or they somehow know the precise time of kidnap?

What a mess and still no arrests.

CHLOE Campbell has described her apparent abductor as “daddy’s friends” as investigations into her unusual kidnapping continue.
The three-year-old used the words when answering family and friends about her mysterious two-day disappearance.
Detective Inspector Bruce McNab told The Courier-Mail the little girl had provided police with “information (they) can use”.
He said Chloe’s secrets had led police to pursue a particular line of inquiry, but detectives were keeping an open mind and pursuing several leads.
But Insp McNab said Chloe had not referred to “daddy’s friends” when questioned by specialist police investigators who have spoken to her several times.
“At no time has she made that reference (about daddy’s friends”) to police,” he said. “Chloe has obviously spoken to family but they’ve never told us about daddy’s friends.”
Police were yesterday taking statements and interviews following The Courier-Mail’s revelations Chloe’s apparent kidnapping could be payback.

The child was returned to the Childers showgrounds near her home in the dead of night on Friday. She was in good health.
The Courier-Mail’s own investigations have further uncovered Chloe’s parents’ association with known drug dealers in Childers.
A family friend said the couple was friends with a drug-dealing family, one of whom was said to have threatened Mr Campbell nine weeks ago.
The Courier-Mail can reveal Mr Campbell was seen on a street near his house the night Chloe disappeared, about 20 minutes before his daughter went missing.
It was also about 20 minutes before security footage shows two men and a child passing along the railway line behind Pioneer Park, only a few hundred metres from Chloe’s house on the same morning she vanished.
Locals say the girl and her parents regularly walk that same route from their house on the way to town.
Last week The Courier Mail reported that the vision appeared to indicate a child leading the way - as though it knew where it was going - followed by two men.
The family told the public and police that an intruder may have used an unlocked lounge room window to get into the house.
With police tape no longer blocking the street, it can be seen that a number of smashed and open windows could give an intruder access to the home.

Just what I was thinking - (just a theory though)

Father gets attacked for drugs debt
Media turns up and sees Chloe, a Maddie lookalike
journalist has a brainwave and pays the father to create a story (as they have been known to do in the McCann case)
The child is put in safe hands
The media get their story
The father pays off his debt

Either a party to this chickens out with the huge search going on, and drops Chloe in a safe place.
Or, the child is found so that the press can say "new hope for the McCanns"

I think the dad was faking an abduction too. Right from the start I thought he looked like an addict, living in a large city I can spot these kind of people a mile off! No doubt an all round upstanding character who would use his own child to get money but didn't really have the necessary intellect to fool the police and she 'appeared' earlier than planned.
At least he did his kids a favour by landing himself in it and hopefully won't be a part of their lives for much longer.

Also, looking at the "house" is it in a fact a mobile home with a bit of brickwork round the bottom., and another one bolted on the other side ?

"I don't think there's any possible way she's wandered off," he told AAP.
A Queensland police spokeswoman declined to say if the man was a family friend.
"We don't confirm relationships," she said.

Speculation is mounting about the involvement of Garth Campbell in his daughter’s unusual kidnapping in central Queensland.
Police have seized the clothes three-year-old Chloe Campbell was wearing when she was found 42 hours after being snatched from her family’s Childers home.
It is understood clothing has also been seized from Mr Campbell and Chloe’s mother Tammy O’Donnell.
The couple has also voluntarily given police DNA samples.
Detective Inspector Bruce McNab said police were searching for fibres, fingerprints and DNA that might lead investigators to Chloe’s abductor.
Chloe was snatched from her home, about 300 kilometres north of Brisbane, about 6am last Thursday.
She was found by police after being dumped at the Childers Showgrounds across the road from her Ridgeway Street home about 1am on Sunday.
Hours before Chloe was found, Mr Campbell was reportedly involved in a drunken fist fight with another man outside the town’s Federal Hotel.
A woman who reportedly witnessed the fight has claimed she overheard the second man yell: ‘‘You know where your daughter is.’’
‘‘He [Mr Campbell] knew ... what happened,’’ the unidentified woman told Nine News.
‘‘He said he knows, but couldn’t do nothing about it.’’
The morning after his daughter disappeared, Mr Campbell said he was certain the kidnapper knew his family, but stopped short of revealing more.
Police Commissioner Ian Stewart did not comment on the veracity of the woman’s claims, but said investigators were keeping an open mind on the case.
‘‘We’ll take action in relation to anyone who’s broken the law,’’ he told reporters on Tuesday.
Chloe’s family believe the intruder snatched the toddler from the lounge room, where she was sleeping with her sisters, via an unlocked window.
Inspector McNab said DNA samples had been taken from about 20 people, including family and friends and ‘‘other people around town whose names have come up’’.
‘‘We’ve had a fantastic result in getting Chloe back alive and well ... but it still leaves that unanswered question of, ‘Who took Chloe?’’ he said.
Inspector McNab said detectives were following ‘‘some lines of inquiry’’, but would not confirm if any persons of interest had been identified.
‘‘We’ve got a number of possible scenarios that we’ve thought of, or that people have told us, and each one of those we’re following to its logical conclusion,’’ he said.
‘‘We’ve spoken to a pretty broad cross-section of the Childers community.’’

It is a silly as the girl who was named and whose photo was on the front page of every paper when she was "missing" with the teacher in France, but suddenly could not be named when he was charged.
We can understand the reasoning behind the rule, but in practice is often becomes risible.

ALCOHOL, marijuana and stopping his course of anti-depressants led a Childers man to light fires around his home and threaten police with a samurai sword early this year.
Bundaberg District Court was told that on January 1, Eden James Kane lit a series of fires around his home, aiming to surround his home with fire before police arrived.
Kane pleaded guilty to wilful damage, four counts of threatening violence, possessing a dangerous drug, possessing a utensil, lighting an unauthorised fire, failing to report a fire and failing to take reasonable action to extinguish a fire.
He also pleaded guilty to a raft of fireworks charges, including storing fireworks in a secured area that is not part of a dwelling or shop, unauthorised possession of explosives, unauthorised use of explosives and using explosives under conditions endangering life.
Crown prosecutor Callan Cas-sidy told the court police were called to Kane's property by the Queensland Rural Fire Service.
Police found Kane roaming around his home wearing only his underwear, smeared in red paint.

This report says he has no connections to the family. But if he doesn't know them, how could he say he felt sorry for the way she was living? It doesn't make sense.

After a frantic search, police found the girl in a showground in the dark two days later.
Earlier, Detective Inspector Bruce McNab said the man, from the neighbouring suburb of South Isis, was not known to the family.
"It's safe to say that he has no links to the family," he told reporters in Bundaberg.
Magistrate Deborah Vasta remanded Kane in custody until Thursday.
Kane is also facing deprivation of liberty and entering a dwelling with intent charges.
