Maddie's parents seek missing girl in the Algarve in the former USSR

By Lusa, published on 14 Feb 2013 - 16:55 | Updated 1 hour 21 minutes

Maddie's parents, the British girl who disappeared in the Algarve in 2007, looking her in the territory of the former USSR with the help of volunteers, the newspaper writes today Electronic Life News.

According to the national communication, German Perry, representative of the child's parents, who coordinates the work of volunteers, said it is "highly probable" that Maddie has another name and may not speak English.

"I contacted the organization of volunteers 'Search Kids' Russia and sent them all the information about Maddie. Posters I translated into all languages, because it can be in any corner of the world, including in Russia," said Perry to Russian newspaper.

Leaders of non-governmental organizations Ukrainian and Russian "Finding Missing Children" confirmed this information.

"We update the data on child and we send them everywhere along with fellow Russians. Entered in contact with us after a dying man's recognition that participated in the abduction of the child and that means that Maddie may be alive and meet in our countries, "said Victor Ianko, leader of Ukrainian organization" Search for Missing Children. "

Madeleine McCann disappeared on the evening of May 3, 2007 the apartment in Praia da Luz, in the Algarve, Portugal, where he had been left alone by her parents and her two brothers.

There's still Ulan Bator if this doesn't work out for them. The Kamchatka region may also have been overlooked. bad

Why not? We must be running low on places where she hasn't been seen.

Lovely translation, by the way!

Why did nobody assume that little April Jones had been exported to Russia/Morocco/Germany/Sweden/New Zealand/Brazil when she disappeared? Why did most people think at first that April had wandered off and then, sadly, come to believe than she had most likely been taken away and killed, probably not very far away? Could it be because that is the most usual fate of little girls who disappear?
Now a man is awaiting trial. He is a man that the girl knew – who she had family links with – and while he doesn't admit to murder, he's now conceding that he was 'probably responsible' for her death, whatever that means.
So why did nobody at any point imagine that April had been abducted to order by Eastern European gypsies/paedophiles/whatever but accepts these bizarre theories in Madeleine's case? It's quite absurd.

Let's be honest here: even assuming Madeleine was abducted, the most likely 'other name' for her would be 'deceased' and no, she wouldn't be speaking English or any other language.

I bet one could be photoshopped in, just as Madeleine's was.

Popcorn at 7.47, that's a good post. What was it about Madeleine McCann that made her disappearance unique in the way it was treated in the media?

Reading the article it seems to be saying that a dying man admitted participating in Maddie's abduction. I may be wrong but that is my understanding of the article.
Why didn't the dying man give the names of any others involved if there were any and why did he not say what region he thought she was sent to. I wonder if we will see a relative of the dying man come forward saying that they had a letter from him confirming it but could no longer find it.

Could this have been inspired by the fact that Liverpool were playing in Russia last night in the Europa League? Just a thought.

Jean wrote:Popcorn at 7.47, that's a good post. What was it about Madeleine McCann that made her disappearance unique in the way it was treated in the media?

Most other missing children don't have parents who hire a series of PRs and press spokesmen, who then run police-style press conferences describing women allegedly seen in foreign cities without a Maddie-like child not engaging in any kind of crime. Why did so many newspapers swallow this particular nonsense without saying: "So let me get this clear: a man has come to you a year after Maddie's disappearance saying he was on a stag night in Barcelona a year ago and some woman asked him if he'd seen her daughter, and you're promoting this as a lead to Madeleine? Seriously?"
But the press lapped it all up and printed the "Posh Spice" e-fit (because papers love that added celebrity angle, as any experienced press spokesman would know).
And nobody publicly asks, why on earth would such a slight event - assuming it ever took place - have anything to do with Madeleine, or any missing child, or even any kind of crime?
And now the precedent has been set and this case is littered with this kind of global garbage that newspapers treat with no scepticism whatever. They just reproduce it unquestioningly, usually with pictures of the grieving parents and that old pic of Maddie with the 'eye' – the recent "Brazil" scoop that was exposed as an airport evacuation in Spain is a prime example. But it's cheap and very easy 'journalism', and it sells newspapers, so of course they lap it up.

I think they're tempting fate - a meteor has just hit Russia. Have they annoyed someone up there?

Where next? winkwink

It's in the Mirror today...

Search for missing Madeleine McCann 'switches to Russia and Ukraine'

15 Feb 2013 00:32

A charity searching for lost children in Moscow and Kiev said it had been asked by a source close to the McCanns to investigate

The hunt for Madeleine McCann is switching to Russia and Ukraine at the request of her family, it was claimed yesterday.

A charity searching for lost children in Moscow and Kiev said it had been asked by a source close to the McCanns to investigate.

Posters have been produced in Russian and yesterday the country’s largest news website, Life News, ran a story on her disappearance.

A charity worker said: “A close friend of Madeleine McCann’s family contacted us and asked us to look for her in Russia and Ukraine.”

A source in Moscow added: "As I understand it, the family has more hopes for Ukraine but I don't know any details.

"We are ready to post information on our websites and social network groups plus we are ready to distribute the posters in the Russian language.

"Missing children is our job."

Madeleine was nearly four when she vanished during a holiday in Portugal in 2007.

It is not known if the hunt in the ex-USSR is based on any specific information

What evidence you have no evidence apart from useless words. I have photographic evidence that suggests Madeleine is alive, but I have has a Russian tag. Those in authority around the world know what I know and I know what they know, what I already know. In all probability the answer is still in Portugal, somewhere beginning with "T" and someone called V.T & S.M.
He lives in Harlow, Essex.

maybe a large number of pin-on badges could be issued to fair haired 10 year olds, with this message :

пожалуйста, не просите пройти тест на ДНК. Я не Madeleine McCann.
спасибо

Please do not ask for a DNA test. I am not Madeleine McCann.
Thank you.

http://www.anorak.co.uk/347936/madeleine-mccann/is-madeleine-mccann-in-ukraine-no-but-her-posters-are.html/arents seek missing girl in the Algarve in
the former USSR

Is Madeleine McCann in Ukraine? No – but her
posters are

MADELEINE McCann was not in New Zealand. The DNA
taken from an innocent child in New Zealand proved that she was not
stolen by her parents. Kiwi police then told media:

“Given
that there is conclusive evidence that their daughter is not Madeleine
McCann and has no connection to Madeleine McCann, it is only right that
she and her family are entitled to a level of privacy that most of us
enjoy.”

Blimey! They needed to prove their child was theirs.
Nice.

So. Where is Our Maddie?

The Daily Mirror has more
news:

A charity searching for lost children in Moscow and
Kiev said it had been asked by a source close to the McCanns to
investigate

Adding:

The hunt for Madeleine McCann is
switching to Russia and Ukraine at the request of her family, it was
claimed yesterday.

Why? Has she been spotted there?

Posters have been produced in Russian and yesterday the country’s
largest news website, Life News, ran a story on her disappearance.

Why?
Has she been spotted there?

A charity worker said: “A close
friend of Madeleine McCann’s family contacted us and asked us to look
for her in Russia and Ukraine.”

Why?

A source in
Moscow added: “As I understand it, the family has more hopes for Ukraine
but I don’t know any details.”

So. No reason why, then?

“We are ready to post information on our websites and social network
groups plus we are ready to distribute the posters in the Russian
language. Missing children is our job.”

The McCann website is in
English, Portuguese, Spanish and German. Not Russian.

Such are
the facts…
