It is my perception, it had been established earlier, that HOS May had actually put the review on the road already via diplomatic channels and agreed on exactly on the day that the McCanns "Open Letter" made the front pages ... Talking about "timing" ...

IMO this "open letter" was a farce to make-believe the McCs were still in control.
I also have a "hunch", that Brooks, Cameron c.s. made them fall into the pit.

Might SY be building up to conclude that yes Madeleine did die in the apartment (to explain dogs findings) but that the abductor took her unwittingly thinking she was alive. They may or may not lead to the fitting up of some bin man for this, but the bottom line is, bin man or not, as a last resort if necessary they could always say that they could not trace the particular individual concerned. That way it acknowledges the dogs findings but still leaves the case unsolved.

Redwood urged victims who had not come forward to do so, and even if they'd reported to PJ don't assume MET know about it.

What presence of mind old Kate showed. After spending the night praying for the dark to go (*anker) she took a stroll down the road, broke into a jog and opened the lid of a dumpster. How prescient is that? What a shame she binned her own lead in a cardboard box labelled 'Timewasters' when she got home to Rothley.

I think AR is desperate now and fisching for stories - in the hope that some British Families who have recently holidayed in Portugal (and remember they have even widened the area of location now) - some innocent, some fame hungry will call CW phoneline tonight with tales of swarthy tanned looking men leering at their children, or acting strange etc...

Noticeable by its actions were the updates on the previous suspects he mentioned in the last Crimewatch programme - no update on the progress there. Are they even still suspects? Or is new smelly breathed tanned man the only story in town now. I would guess therefore that the highly anticipated arrests are no longer going to take place. And what of the names of these suspects - did BHH forget them?

Complete waste of taxpayers money, but I'm sure the Beeb don't mind - they trailed this like one of their dramas - surely they're not chasing ratings with this.....???

All very sad indeed.

Yes, but we have to take particular notice that no "white" child was abducted, and they were between the ages of 7-10 years of age. No comparison whatsoever. AR is playing with either the McCann's or the British public.

I am The Bin Man. I've dustbin waiting for someone to catch me, though it's utter garbage and a waste of time to say I abduct children. The only thing I take away is rubbish on my recycle. Like Kate, I shall just refuse to answer any questions........ unless one happens to be, "Is it the green bin or the brown one??"
