That's interesting sally... I'm intensely curious to learn the content of this 'long awaited WOC documentation' and, more particularly, whether it has established that the High Court in London consented to its Ward being made party to the proceedings by her parents before or after they filed their suit for libel against Dr Amaral and his co-defendants.sallypelt wrote:"Something weird happening in twitter!! Links and photos being whooshed within seconds of going on - allegedly GA's lawyers are now in receipt of the long awaited WOC documentation and are just about to submit it to Court!"

Libel Trial: Update & Appeal Projecto Justiça Gonçalo Amaral
30 Apr 2014
As many of you will know, the trial of the action that opposes the McCann couple to Gonçalo Amaral, and others, has been suspended, awaiting information about the status of Madeleine McCann as a Ward of Court.
The documentation that attests that status has been requested and obtained by Gonçalo Amaral's lawyer through a lawyer in London from the competent court, and will soon be delivered to the judge at the Civil Court of Lisbon.
The obtainment of said evidence was time-consuming and expensive, and the costs will be fully met by Gonçalo Amaral.
We appeal, once more, to those who are able to help us to collect the funds that are needed to cover this expense, to contribute through Projecto Justiça Gonçalo Amaral.
Thank you.

Re: Libel Trial 7th Jan Postponed - confirmed
Having just posted this response on the 'Maddie Special' thread, it's occurred to me to post it here by way of 'where we are now' with regard to the libel trial:
suzyjohnson wrote: If SY do conclude that Madeleine is dead (or probably dead) where does this leave things in respect of the libel trial?
At the request of counsel for the McCanns and for reason(s) which were not made public, the trial was adjourned prior to the date (January 7?) set for the hearing of closing arguments after which it would appear the judge further adjourned the proceedings in order that the defence could obtain doumentation from the UK in respect of their request for the issue of the Wardship (of Madeleine Beth McCann) to be evaluated.
The latest news from Lisbon is that documentation has either been submitted to the court or will be submitted shortly, after which I would expect there to be some further delay while the issue is evaluated.
It will then remain to be seen whether the issue of Wardship causes the McCanns' case to fail or whether the court proceeds to hear closing arguments. In the event of the latter I would expect the defence to argue that NSY's long running investigation has not ruled out, or is moving towards, or has established, the possibility that the child died before she was 'taken' from the apartment as evidenced by Andy Redwood's recent statement.
Having a particular interest in matters of law, and having been engaged in exploring the differences between the judicial systems of England/Wales and Portugal, it is my intention to expound on the above (here) in the near future.

Such a long wait.
Maybe they're about to lose the case so allow news of digging up (meaning she might be dead)
One excuse for amaral to win. because it was THEIR decision really.
