But if maddie is alive and still with her kidnapper, wouldnt the kidnapper be able to see all these stories about the police getting close to finding maddie? I cant see that being a good thing. I cant even begin to imagine what the parents are going through

And the person behind the spin is Mitchell, so why would he feed rubbish to the press that will ultimately hurt himself?

I'm beginning to think that he is the one who was in PDL, one of the ones the Gaspar's refer to, the reason why Madeleine's body will never be found, and is the one being protected. He doth protest too much.

Extraordinary that media omissions, time and again, include:
The actual distance to the tapas bar from apt. 5A : whether the front door
and patio door were left locked or unlocked 'So that Madeleine could get out
if needed. / So that Madeleine could not get out.' : The Smith sightings :
Katharine Gaspar statement : the evidence of the dogs : the reason for the
car boot being left open at night allegedly because of the odour :  Mrs. Fenn's
witness statement that Madeleine cried for 75 minutes unattended : who was
the last adult to see Madeleine - DP at 6.45, or GM? : if an 'abductor' had just
been in the apt. how could KM leave it to rush over to the Tapas bar, with two
children on their own? : is it true that KM shouted 'They have taken her'?  -
who did she think had taken her? : Why did GM/KM delete their phone records
on the night that Madeleine went missing?  :  What is made of the priest's alleged
statement "I have been deceived."  Where is the priest these days?  What happened
to his reported change of demeanour, from a warm outgoing man at the centre of his
parish and community, to a virtual recluse? : How has the Madeleine Fund been spent,
specifically, on the cost of private investigators?  What has it covered? : Will the
Crimewatch reconstruction on 14 October include the exact time-line for an abductor
to do all that was necessary in a virtually impossible time-frame? :  Why were the
twins not tested for sedatives until (I believe) six months after?

I know that all these issues and more have been raised here, and raised far more
coherently than I have listed them; but they do remain unanswered.pray2

You are very right! This is a great idea! We should bombard crime watch with all the information that members of this forum and wider have noticed. After all they are asking for public help!

I agree aiyoyo but it makes you wonder how they are able to spin this drivel time and time again.......nothing ever gets questioned ?
Unless they are showing their readers how ludicrous it all is ?

Yeap, the printing of their uncensored drivels allows the public to judge for themselves what the mccanns are capable of; the length they would go to deceive the public.

The fact that he continues to be their paid retainer even 6 years on speaks volume.
Either he's blind believer, or deep up to his neck, take your pick. It's not a rocket science question.
It's too late for him, he cant u-turn.
If they go down, he goes down.

Just wait till the Press print detail/s of TM source or sources and all the juicy bits they've kept for the opportune time.

Post by sallypelt 06.10.13 14:24

I haven't been on the forum since Friday, as I was in London from early morning and didn't arrive back home until this morning. I had a "McCann-free" day. So, I have some catching up to do on the events of the last 36 hours. I have discarded all information OTHER than what Redwood or the Met have said, and unless it's in quotes, I leave the rest go over my head. I will say now, I don't believe for ONE moment that the McCann's are controlling anything.

This is some of the information that is of interest to me:

QUOTE

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who is leading Operation Grange, the new inquiry, said yesterday: “We now believe we have the most complete picture to date of the events surrounding her disappearance.

“We are now making targeted and new appeals for help from the public.

“I truly believe there are people out who hold the key to Madeleine’s disappearance, and that, so far, they may be completely unaware of that fact.

“Through this latest round of publicity we hope to take the next step forward in this investigation. There is a huge public desire out there to help us.”

UNQUOTE

So, from the whole article from the Telegraph  ( one of the more credible newspapers, IMO) the only pieces that I have taken any notice of are those I've underlined in bold. The rest is padding.

The release of details on the progress of the £5 million police inquiry is part of a coordinated effort by Scotland Yard to maximise publicity ahead of a live television appeal by Mr and Mrs McCann on the BBC’s Crimewatch.

Police sources suggested that they were “optimistic” that they would get to the bottom of what has happened to the missing girl.

Madeleine’s parents said in a statement: “We are greatly encouraged by new information coming to light, with pieces of the jigsaw now fitting together. We are really hopeful that the forthcoming appeal on Crimewatch will bring further new evidence which will take us a step closer to finding Madeleine and to bringing those responsible for her abduction to justice.”

Detectives are studying mobile telephone data from thousands of people who were in Praia da Luz when Madeleine went missing.

Thirty-seven officers are deployed on the case. Police have refused to discuss forensic evidence but admitted that no useful CCTV footage existed in Portugal.

Madeleine vanished from a holiday apartment on the Algarve nine days before her fourth birthday, leading to the biggest hunt in history for a missing child.

Mr and Mrs McCann had left her and her twin siblings in an unlocked apartment while they went for dinner with friends at a nearby bar and restaurant. The McCanns, both doctors who live in Rothley, Leicestershire, believe their child, who would now be 10, was abducted and may still be alive.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood, who is leading Operation Grange, the new inquiry, said yesterday: “We now believe we have the most complete picture to date of the events surrounding her disappearance.

We are now making targeted and new appeals for help from the public.

“I truly believe there are people out who hold the key to Madeleine’s disappearance, and that, so far, they may be completely unaware of that fact.

“Through this latest round of publicity we hope to take the next step forward in this investigation. There is a huge public desire out there to help us.”

Following a BBC reconstruction, Mr and Mrs McCann will make a live appeal from Crimewatch’s studio in Cardiff when the programme is aired at 9pm on October 14. Similar programmes will be broadcast in Germany and Holland in an attempt to reach those who were on holiday in Praia da Luz at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.

There are no plans by Portuguese broadcasters to carry an appeal. Portuguese police and the wider public there have been hostile to the plight of the couple.

When Madeleine vanished there was widespread criticism of local detectives over their conduct. Police in Britain opened up their own official inquiry after a direct plea from the McCanns to David Cameron.

The BBC reconstruction was filmed in Spain rather than in Praia da Luz.

The reconstruction is, according to the Crimewatch team, based on “the Met’s latest, most detailed understanding of what took place around the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.

And a second one behind his colleague too. My first thought was: so the DO have satellite pictures, but then I figured out it might just as well be Google Earth.

Funny how this picture differs from the first one: the 'tea-rota' with first names behind AR is now made illegible. The Maddie-at-9 picture isn't on  the slightly raised desk pointing towards the audience, but on the stack in front or AR; He isn't portrayed as writing on this same raised desk.
The bulky package on the left of his desk is still there: bulky, with information on it (maybe stamps, hard to discern without enlargement, anyone on the Forum able to read what's on it?)

One thing is the same though: the sorrowful expression on AR's face, which I hope will be able to be turned into elation and a smile of success in the coming few weeks!

Hi Sally, I agree the Telegraph is probably more reliable, but The Star had little gems such as, the McCanns did not take part as it would upset them, and they forbade the reconstruction taking place in Portugal - hence it was filmed in Spain!

You are very right! This is a great idea! We should bombard crime watch with all the information that members of this forum and wider have noticed. After all they are asking for public help!
I suggest that after the programme has aired we gather on this site for a conflab and draw up a list of any/all disparity between the PJ files and the events as depicted in the Crimewatch mock-u-mentary reconstruction  before crashing the Beeb's website volunteering information to whatever hotline number is given.

If it transpires the forthcoming sideshow 'appeal' is yet another con insult to the intelligence of the British public, I further suggest we begin lobbying MPs to protest at the colossal amount of taxpayers' money, £5 million and rising, being expended on review and investigation of a crime which was allegedly committed outside the jurisdiction of the U.K's courts.

The reconstruction is, according to the Crimewatch team, based on “the Met’s latest, most detailed understanding of what took place around the time of Madeleine’s disappearance.
This stood out for me as significant that the recon is on Met's script and NOT the Mccanns & friends script as deposited in their statements.
Maybe their evolving statements make it impossible to  select  which one to use.
I cant wait for the 14th.

Here Sally.  Apologies, they used the 'banned' word, worse imo.  They banned the reconstruction from being filmed in Portugal for fear of angering the Portuguese police.  We have a 'family source' and a 'close source' for the quotes.

It looks to me as though they are not co-operating with the police.  Can't imagine roughy toughy SY Officers, saying 'ok, so, we'll just film it in Spain, and try not to bother you too much'.

The last thing that gives me hope is the possible refusal of the McCanns to take part in the reconstruction. They have to, if the police demand it.
I wonder if they have been in Algarve last week.
I believe that Tapas 7 are colaborating with the police.

But who knows it is indeed a cover up.

Thanks Ribisi.  Let's hope SY will revisit the records of the two Samsung PAYG mobiles discussed in this interview.  The 4 week period they were used by by the McCs and the Paynes includes the date when the Scenic was hired and the McCs potentially continued using their handset until their sudden departure from Portugal.  So an interesting period to investigate in detail and potentially more worthwhile than trawling the mobile records of everyone in the vicinity of PDL on a given date.  They have admitted a large proportion of this data will be impossible to attribute to any individual so the value of this exercise may in fact be zero, despite the trumpery of the press.  Interesting also that SY are checking only mobile records.  They must think criminals never use phone boxes or landlines, or skype for that matter.

But if maddie is alive and still with her kidnapper, wouldnt the kidnapper be able to see all these stories about the police getting close to finding maddie? I cant see that being a good thing. I cant even begin to imagine what the parents are going through

A cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind
Whereas I would normally agree with you Portia, a cluttered desk could, in this particularly deranged case, also mean that there is so much contradicting material that it is impossible to get it into any sense of order.
I do think that Andy Redwood is looking very stressed, fluid retaining/ acidic, and I do hope he will look after his health, and alkalise a little with lemon juice, apple cider vinegar in hot water instead of all that coffee that he must be consuming to try to keep himself awake, alert and focussed on a never ending dark and dank abyss of swirling lies and distractions.
IF, and it's a big IF, he is genuinely leading a proper investigation with the intent to find the real perpetrators, (and we pretty well know who they are) then I wish him all the support he will need, for he will be standing on his own strength against those elements in the political-elite-control-suite, who will definitely NOT be wanting a 'truthful' conclusion.
If you are genuine Andy, here's more power to your elbow. An enormous number of members of the public are fully informed and are rooting for you. roses airkiss empathy thumbup

This stands out for me as being a reconstruction based on the McCanns' most recent obsfucations version of what took place on the night in question.

As another poster has pointed out, the forthcoming Crimewatch mock-u-mentary is likely to resemble a parody of a Benny Hill sketch wherein the McCanns & their chums are seen speeding in and out of the Tapas Bar, travelling up and down the roads leading to the front and rear entrances of 5A, going in and out of each other's apartment/briefly standing by unjemmied shutters and doors and, with the exception of Jane Tanner, narrowly missing 'bundleman'.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the entire cast dances the conga as a finale, but I guess that would require a different musical score to accompany what is shaping up to be nothing more than another Whitehall farce.

QUOTE FROM THE ARTICLE:  "A close source said: “More than anything in the world Kate and Gerry want to find out what happened to Madeleine.
“But they did not want to take part in the reconstruction and they were against it being filmed in Portugal.
“Even after six years it would have been emotionally and mentally draining for Kate and Gerry to face a lookalike of their daughter on set. Can you imagine it? It would be traumatic.” "
So.....even though they say they want to find out more than anything what happened to Madeleine, they're not prepared to put themselves out in any way.

Sadly Marconi, I think your shred of optimism is misplaced and I'm sure you (and the rest of us) are going to be disappointed as usual.  SY just seems to be behaving like the McCanns' lapdog.
