Hard work: Detective Chief Inspector Andy Redwood in the incident room

This is the nerve centre of Scotland Yard’s £5 million investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
The Standard was today allowed exclusive access to the incident room in London where detectives are running the world-wide inquiry into the missing child.
Restricted access: The door to the incident room
Located on the second floor of Belgravia police station, the room is the centre of a massive inquiry involving tens of thousands of documents and files. Detectives work surrounded by shelves stacked with 39,000 or so documents from the Operation Grange inquiry. A separate room contains more files from police and private detectives.
Detectives are poised to release a new appeal with “fresh substantive” material and a new theory of what happened when the three-year-old vanished.
Officers are combing through a huge log of mobile phone traffic identified in Praia da Luz, in Portugal, at the time of Maddy’s disappearance while she was on holiday in the Algarve with her parents Kate and Gerry McCann and her twin siblings six years ago. Detectives are focusing on a list of 41 so-called “persons of interest” including 15 British nationals.
The McCanns will appear live in the studio during an episode of BBC Crimewatch on Monday October 14 which will also feature a reconstruction of the night Madeleine disappeared in Portugal — and equivalent programmes are expected to be broadcast in Holland, Germany and possibly Ireland.
Detectives said new material uncovered by the inquiry does not implicate the family or their friends.

I don't know what to make of this, but was anyone aware that Murat and Jane Tanner are related on their maternal lines?
(2) The Burgau apartment is the Solimar/ Sol e Mar where DNA profiles of a person of the maternal line of both Jane Tanner and Robert Murat were found on 5/5/07.
The report explains why these profiles do not prove they were the profiles of RM or JT, merely a person of the same maternal lines - cousin, child, sibling, aunt… A subject for a post in its own right.

Didn't Jez Wilkins have something to do with the Crimewatch programme, I have done a search on the website but can't find if he is still involved. If he is I was wondering if had something to do with the Crimewatch reconstruction as Gerry McCann was trying to change the fact as to what side of the street they were talking on on 3rd May when JW was taking his son out for a walk.
Perhaps JW got pi**ed off with Gerry trying to make out that JW was lying in his statement, just my thoughts of course.

They would have those anguished faces if they had been informed of the new theory as reported from Portugal. The press conference yesterday did not mention a paedo ring, it was not reported in UK media. My stomach turns to think that might have been her fate.susible wrote:Also, Gerry's demeanour on the steps of the courthouse was not one of someone who is about to be "officially" exonerated and the mystery of what happened to his daughter solved, rather more a man who doesn't know exactly what is going to hit him next. End times imo
The photo at that memorial in May was the first where I saw true anguish and devastation. They looked wretched.

I seem to remember the findings were based on the mitochondrial dna link, which has a potential for hundreds of thousands of matches, not just familial relatives (based on the theory of 5 "Eve's" from which the entire human population is descended)sallypelt wrote:I don't know what to make of this, but was anyone aware that Murat and Jane Tanner are related on their maternal lines?

Isn't it amazing how many times this or similar phrases have been trotted out for this case.
One wonders why, IF as claimed by the UK media the parents were "officially exonerated", they feel the need to continually do this??

But they have always touted the paedo angle, and of course in the infamous page 129 of madeleine, why would it suddenly have affected them in 2013, when it didn't in all the previous years?russiandoll wrote:They would have those anguished faces if they had been informed of the new theory as reported from Portugal. Thank you, Newintown, English is indeed not my first language. The McCann's stomachs weren't turning apparently when Kate McCann said she had no problem sleeping shortly after Madeleine disappeared.susible wrote:But they have always touted the paedo angle, and of course in the infamous page 129 of madeleine, why would it suddenly have affected them in 2013, when it didn't in all the previous years?russiandoll wrote:They would have those anguished faces if they had been informed of the new theory as reported from Portugal. As susible said they have touted the paedo angle almost from day 1, but yet keep ramming down everyone's throats that there is no evidence that Madeleine has come to any harm.
My stomach does turn when I think about what happened to Madeleine if she was left on her own in the apartment with the twins and she had a bad accident with nobody there to help her and was found when it was too late.

Yes, she was. She`s also written a book on child traffiking in victorian times which describes how the elite got away with it and the humble policeman who tried to bring them to justice ended up in a mental asylum. Yes we do
We gotta be headstrong about rightin' the wrong

Quite frankly if they plan on sticking to the 'official' McCann/T7 statements/versions then they might as well do it in CGI using characters from Monsters Inc as that's about as realistic as it's going to get!aquila wrote:Eddie and Keela will be played by pooch/mutt/street dog (Clarrie's all for saving those recently).cass7 wrote:whos going to play eddie and keela i wonder - or mrs fenn ho heard madeline crying for over a hr - or infact better still who will jemmie the shutters

A couple of questions I'd like the media to ask Andy Redwood:
Is it true that you asked the McCanns not to attend the libel trial in Portugal because you feared a media circus would disrupt your sensitive inquiries?
