How does it matter whether the guy acknowledges his reply or not, if there's no truth in the guy's sighting.

Bizzare. And, we thought he's very clever....and all that...

It's not as if every one would recognize pinky on the street, so the ex-journo sighting him "going into" [sic] SY is bit coincidence?

I'm sure Clarence understood what this guy was saying. As a PR god, he would know that most people wouldn't get the (obvious to us) hidden meaning, and so arguing with the guy any further would only give exposure to a point he would rather stay hidden.
