Re: ***LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE TRIAL HERE*** See page 40 for news of the date and time of the judgment
Thought your query perfectly ok.
As well, the question a forum member asked about the final hearing next thursday as that member was going to be in London.
Seems odd the replies you both got and I also thought it odd that hearing Madeleines name mentioned during the hearing was so unacceptable. After all, this is about Madeleine.
I have been a lurker on many sites since 2007 - starting with the infamous Anorak site.
I feel particularly 'safe' on this forum....and intelligent, balanced and calm environment.
Consequently I am sorry to see you have been spoken to in this way and I do hope hereon you will have a better time here.
I also hope that the admin/mods are happy with this post from me to you!

Re: ***LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE TRIAL HERE*** See page 40 for news of the date and time of the judgment
I joined this forum because I thought I would be able to voice my
thoughts about the McCann case in a friendly environment. I have been
subjected today to a spiteful and nasty attack by aquila. My husband is
a retired barrister who throughout his career has specialised in libel
and defamation. I had finally managed to engage him in a detailed convo
about all this... he probably could be a good resource to Tony Bennett
if the nastiness on this forum can be curtailed?
over egg the pudding is an expression my nan would say
...welcome btw, please feel free to discuss the case & im sure you will be made to feel welcome

Aquila is a valued member of our forum and as candyfloss said I think we need to put the past few days, if not months, down to feeling a bit stressy. Please contribute to the thread if you want to.

Please, can we now go back on topic, enough has been said on this. I and admin have both made our position clear and you have had support from other members Caroline. Can we go back to discussing what this thread is about. Thanks.

Think our new member is called Carollne candyfloss, unless the i key is stuck. Pretty name though needs more of a tongue roll than L can muster.candyfloss wrote:Yes, you can voice your opinion in a friendly environment Caroline, as can others. In future, any scathing posts from anyone will not be tolerated. Let's put it down to stress from the last few days, and leave it now. This thread has gone way off topic.

Fair comment, candyfloss -this has been a very stressful week for many people. Hubby is a retired barrister. If I can keep on chipping away and chipping away we may be able to come up with some hopefully very good advice for Tony!

Hi Caroline
Kate and Gerry Mccann did not attend the hearing (and did not need to).
If you would like a quick synopsis of the event, "little morsals" blog has quite a good one.
Just google the name and you will find it.
Hope that helps with discussion with husband.....

HI olipet and thanks for the link I am chipping away and chipping away with my hubby about this case. He is a retired barrister who could really assist Tony. Hubby has High Court experience. I just need to persuade him??!!

excellent, I was waiting
He is basically slating those who made it to court for not producing a report of proceedings which meets his approval. If he was so interested in the trial, why didn't he make it to court? I'd like to read a detailed report myself but I'm grateful for what has been written so far. No one is obliged to say anything.

CarolIne Ray wrote:Woofer wrote:Can`t believe the spitefulness either - was quite shocked at the responses to a simple question.
I'm gutted at the response that I got .... I joined up here on the recommendation of a friend who was sceptical about the abduction story. I thought that I would be able to post ideas and contrubutions in good faith and in a friendly environment but I have been demeaned and patronised.
To be fair people has no way of knowing whether newbie is from another forum or novice to the case, unless newbie chooses to tell us. Unless told otherwise, it is not unjust to assume most newbies are from another forum or lurkers who have been following the case to certain extent. On that premise, then a question which may appear simple may seem something else.
I think no one is wrong or right in this instance, just a case of wrong end of the stick approach.
Despite the increase in newbies I think it is reasonable to say that none of us expects novice out of the blue to join us suddenly. And, for them to be able to zoom right into the current *hot* thread, naturally people assume they must have been following the case somewhat somewhere. IMO, this is an instance of mistaken belief that newbies are already well up on the case.

Yeap, he's just so full of himself. If he's in so interested in TB's work that he follows it so closely why didn't he go to court himself instead of being so derogatory when he said "So we don't know what else they've deliberately corrupted. Some summaries! I wouldn't trust this lot to give an accurate account of the time of f****** day."
He reminds me of MCF Board who forbids it members to discuss TB (yet his work is followed closely by them) but allows discussion of the court case in its technical aspects. They object to TB using the translation without permission even though they know it is for a legitimate purpose, and the purpose is of the same objective as them ie Justice for Madeleine. And even though they also copy and paste from here freely especially those of TB's posts without asking permission., yet no one objects because of shared common objective.
So why the petty mindedness and hypocrisy?

Re: ***LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE TRIAL HERE*** See page 40 for news of the date and time of the judgment
It's nothing plebgate. Simply That Caroline spelled her name with two LLs instead of an I, so I asked if the key had stuck. Just my weak attempt at humour when things were getting a bit wrought. I'm afraid I was chuckling at trying to pronounce it.plebgate wrote:CarolIne Ray wrote:Spaniel wrote:Think our new member is called Carollne candyfloss, unless the i key is stuck. ETA, I then used an L rather than an I in my reply. Having to explain it doesn't make it funny at all now.

Re: ***LATEST NEWS AND UPDATES FROM THE TRIAL HERE*** See page 40 for news of the date and time of the judgment
a good snippet from Pat Brown
Criminal Profiler Pat Brown - Thank you, Lorraine. Freedom of speech is not the same thing as stalking. The McCanns ruthlessly go after those who are vocal about the lack of evidence for abduction of Maddie and who wish to purport theories about the evidence that does exist. The McCanns could easily "turn the other cheek" by simply saying that they understand some people think they have involvement in the disappearance of their daughter because of their negligent treatment of their children, because cadaver dogs hit in their apartment and car, and because they have been suspects under police investigation, and, hopefully, one day, they will find Maddie and clear their names. They could also return to Portugal to cooperate with the police as requested, do the reenactment, and open their fund for scrutiny as to how donations were spent. All of these things would make people think more highly of them and allow the McCanns more time to focus on "finding" their daughter rather than dealing with litigation. Instead, the McCanns work to shut down any dissenting opinions and drag people through court and destroy their lives
