Other anomalies.
Tanner & O'Brien booked a 1 bed aprtment, but got a 2 bed apartment.
Oldfield & O'Brien's flight details are listed. Payne & McCann's are missing.
Tanner & O'Brien are the only ones without an asterisk beside their name.

thats just the way the hotel industry works, its simply requests, you can book a one bedroom, but it can be subject to change, they can never give you less then what you have booked, but due to them wanting to be near each other its not always possible due to room types or previous guests departure dates, extended stays, wanting ground floors ect you always have to try to mix and match as best as possible, despite when you pre book a holiday months ahead rooms are only allocated on arrival , the mccans from what i can see only requested two cots which is a normal request and the 3rd cot was for the paynes , its just standard nothing unusal from my experience

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
p. 96 "I kicked an extra bed that had been brought into the apartment and smashed the end right off it."
This was in the new apartment, 4G. And by then there were only the McCann parents and the twins.
So why did they need an extra bed in 4G.
Do the parents routinely sleep in separate rooms ?

hello Peter I was going by the booking form as above, were they not moved in to a different apartment within the same complex ?
if they were moved in to a one bed apartment (meaning either a double bed or generally on the continent a one bed can be classed as a twin = two singles pushed together )
did they have a family member come out and stay in their apartment ? or maybe lack of cots (which does happen at hotels from my experience) maybe needed it for the twins top and tail, which parents can do , not sure, have not read Kates book , only tonys extracts on here, did she not claim to break a bed? let me know

That is exactly what I have been wondering. As they definitely did not need an extra bed in G5A, with 4 single beds and two cots in there already.

The point is dragonfly. The McCann's booked an extra bed, when they had 4 seperate beds already.
Why do you think they still needed another one?

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
Could the extra bed in the new apartment have been for family that arrived ? Just a thought

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
Let's be clear. This is not about a spare bed after Madeleine vanished for a different apartment.
This is about a request for a spare bed, made before that holiday, as SEEN on the Mark Warner booking information, to go into apartment G5A the apartment Madeleine vanished from.
2 adults and Madleine = 3 beds. G5A had 4 beds.

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
Maybe I'm crosseyed, but isn't the extra bed requested by the Paynes? That would make sense.

Hi lj. That is the Mother of all mistakes everyone has made. Even I thought that was the case up until recently, all due to the naff MW booking sheets and because the group booking got split over two pages, which is the main principle for the confusion.
But if you open up the the top section, being the start of the booking. It begins with Room booked before it lists everyone's names, this happens for every family. So you see the entry with the extra bed request, 4th one down, refers to the McCann booking, not the Payne's.
When printed together as one booking (exactly as seen on the MW list) it looks like this:
Booking ref 20064293 Lead name Payne Duration 7 nights
Room Booked: One Bedroom Apartment, Room Extra: Cot x 1
Name
Mr M Oldfield
Ms R Marnpilly
Infant G Oldfield
Room Booked: One Bedroom Apartment, Room Extra: Cot x 1
Name
Mr R O’Brien
Ms J Tanner
Miss E O’Brien
Infant E O’Brien
Room Booked: Two Bedroom Apartment, Room Extra: Cot x 1
Name
Mr D Payne
Mrs F Payne
Miss L Payne
Infant S Payne
Mrs D Webster
Room Booked: Two Bedroom Apartment, Room Extra: Extra Bed x 1
Name
Mr G McCann
Mrs K Healey
Miss M McCann
Mstr S McCann
Miss A McCann
Notes: Please request 3 extra cots for Miss L Payne, Ma S McCann and Miss A McCann
***Please allocate apartments as close to each other as possible, thank you*** Anything you can do to ensure this will be much appreciated. The Payne and McCann family will arrive in resort at midday on Saturday

Or a mistake on the booking form. Which if had happened, David and Gerry surely would have explained this at the same time they mentioned having to move a cot on arrival !!!

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
Maybe they needed an extra bed for the 'abductor' because Kate said he was there the night before the 'abduction', most likely doing his rehearsal.

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
Extra beds are provided in the form of a sofa bed.
There were 2 sofa's in that lounge.
Only one of them backed onto a wall. Which just happens to be the same sofa directly linked to blood found behind it.
I wonder if it was open and in action the night Madeleine died ?
and where was all the extra bedding that would have been provided with it ??

Will send you a PM shortly, as we should try to protect all of the tapas children's identities.

Why?
p. 43 "The party would consist of David, Fiona, Lily, who was two, and Scarlett, nearly a year old; Matt and Rachael and their toddler Grace; Jane and Russell with Ella who, coming up to four, was almost exactly the same age as Madeleine, and Evie, another toddler; the five of us and Fi's mum, Dianne."

Oh silly me, it looks like Kate could not be bothered to protect all of the other children's identities in her book. What a gal !!

As for this spare McCann bed. Perhaps they were originally intending for their nanny in the UK go out there with them ?

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
I looked again, but it still seems to me that the Paynes requested a bed extra?

lj. Count down the number of lines that say room booked on the first page. There are 3, which relates to Oldfield, O'Brien and Payne. Then on the next page there is ONLY 1, which relates specifically to the McCann's booking.
When reports are printed they always cut off where they feel like it, rather than where it makes sense. If you are still having difficulty print them off and join them up and you will see.
must dash sorry, bye..

Re: Why did the McCann's request an extra bed?
I see what you mean Stella, thanks.
They (OC) are also juggling a bit strange with the number of cots, assuming that cotx1 means one cot. You would expect they cot change that to cotx2 or 3 instead of having it hidden somewhere at the end of the message.
