Re: Gerry McCann Radio 4 Interview - 29/09/2018
Oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear.
Well that's sixty minutes of my life never to be recovered and a numb bum all for nothing. What a load of mawkish twaddle - why is the man putting on a faltering stuttering pretence at suffering? What's it got to do with mental health or a father daughter bond?
It's a re-enactment, a reiteration of Tapas group rogatory interviews and Kate McCann's autobiographical novel.
It's all about our suffering - not a word for Madeleine.
~~~
I remember being slumped on the floor
Overwhelming helplessness - we couldn't do anything
We felt slightly responsible for someone stealing our daughter
that first night it felt like it lasted forever, obviously didn't sleep
When it got late Kate and I went back out ...
I didn't know anyone had contacted the media at that point (night of Friday 4th)
Every privacy is gone
No one in control no one giving advice
I just scribbled what I thought I would say
I felt like I was doing something that could be positive
[Oooh - fifty minutes in and he's mention a bond.]
My memories, my happiest memories about the girl that was nearly four :frown:
~~~
What an abominable display of fake emotion and fabricated excuses. Wouldn't I love to have seen this live in action - no wonder it's a radio interview and not a sofa chat. What a coincidence this was broadcast at the same time as Operation Grange is awaiting the rubber stamp for another six months duration.
Note: The poem is about the death of a child.

Yes, I listened whilst gardening so missed bits but message understood, Gerry. Agree with you, Verdi, and not forgetting criticism of the Portuguese police. Programme was too long, I thought it was a half-hour piece. Need to listen again with no distraction and a drink.
I kept wondering throughout - why now?

Re: Gerry McCann Radio 4 Interview - 29/09/2018
The poetry reading took up more air-space than Gerry McCann's narrative. Cut that and the broadcast would have lasted about fifteen minutes - even that's too long.
I'm going out to unruffle me feathers - I'm seriously stagnating after listening to Gerry McCann's feigned distress.
ETA: Where's me manners. Thank you for the reminder Ladyinred - I'd forgotten all about it!

Re: Gerry McCann Radio 4 Interview - 29/09/2018
I couldn't bring myself to listen to it I'm afraid, but PeterMac did and these are his comments:
Defects neatly the Madeleine / Maddie thing by saying He did , Kate didn't . . . ! NEAT, obviously worried by that lie being exposed
26:16 . We couldn't sleep, you could just hear the wind howling. It was really windy that whole week, but that particular night the wind was howling round the apartments, . . shutters clanging . . No mention of "except at lunch time on Thursday . . ." And sadly the weather reports show a light breeze Force 3 from the NNW that night.
28:45 . Alan [Pike] said "You sound like model parents". Strange that Kate did not put that in her book
39:30 . had to stay close to where Madeleine was. well quite so. PdL in fact, where Madeleine was, and is.
55 . The grief and the loss and the pain are not known, - but I certainly don't wish her dead, that's not the Trade-off. [WTF ?]
I certainly DID Believe in Heaven. Right now [laughs],
but I do, it's almost like an instinctive reaction, feel . . feel we will be reunited, at some point [cries into microphone]
Is this not yet ANOTHER clear Admission that she is dead, and he knows it.

Re: Gerry McCann Radio 4 Interview - 29/09/2018
[size=32]Madeleine McCann's father describes the 'terror' of her disappearance[/size]
Madeleine McCann's father has described the "terror" and "disbelief" at first realising his daughter was missing.
Madeleine, then aged three, disappeared from a holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007, sparking a worldwide search for her whereabouts.
Gerry McCann said he had not thought about "those moments" for a long time because they were too "painful".
Mr McCann was speaking to BBC Radio 4 for a programme about the relationship between fathers and daughters.
He said that he was sure immediately that his daughter had been abducted.
After being told by his wife Kate that their daughter was missing, Mr McCann said "automation kicked in" and he began searching the apartment.
"We started searching more widely really quickly and then very quickly raised the alarm," he said.
"You're in this quiet little holiday resort - that seemed idyllic - out of season and I certainly didn't speak Portuguese so I asked [our friend] Matt to go to reception and ask them to call the police."
Mr McCann said he remembered him and his wife being back in the bedroom "completely distraught", adding their reaction was "almost feral".
"I couldn't get the darkest thoughts out of our minds, that somebody had taken her and abused her," he continued.
"I felt that every moment that we couldn't find her was worse.
"I remember being slumped on the floor and starting to call some of my family members and just saying: 'Pray for her.'"
Mr McCann, from Rothley, Leicestershire, added that some parts of that night 11 years ago are "blurred", but he remembers waiting "forever" for the police to arrive.
"It just felt terrible. We went then to another apartment, by which time it was three or four in the morning and Kate was saying, 'I want to go back out and search.'
"I was saying: 'Just wait until it gets light,' and Kate kept saying: 'It's so cold.'"
The Metropolitan Police inquiry into the disappearance - known as Operation Grange - has been ongoing since 2011.
Four people were identified as suspects in 2013, but no further action was taken after they were interviewed by Portuguese officers and the Met Police, who visited the holiday resort in 2014.
The Home Office said last week it is currently considering a police request for an extra six months' funding for Operation Grange.

"Just wait until it gets light" - "It's so cold"
So supposing little three-year-old Madeleine really was outside somewhere by herself, she would just have to wait in the cold until it got light.
Ooooookay.
Utter bastards, the pair of them.

If my child had gone missing, "the cold" would be the last thing on my mind. I would have been out there, looking in every nook and cranny until I fell down exhausted. G M is trying to refresh the old chestnuts he was pushing back in 2007Jill Havern wrote:"Just wait until it gets light" - "It's so cold"

Jill, this is why I have had to take a rest from this BS. The world knows that this cover-up isn't about a missing child. All we know is a child DIED, but how, or why, I have no idea. But I will repeat it again, it's something HUGE!Jill Havern wrote:The worst thing is he actually said it on the bloody radio!

More from PeterMac:
On the day when at lunchtime they had been sitting by the pool sweating away in little sun hats and glasses, and smocks . . . ? ¿ QUE ?
And suddenly it was Windy all week ? [Except for Thursday Lunchtime, of course, Mr Adams !]
And the wind was "howling round the apartments . . "
'Howwwlin, I tell ye, Mr Mainwairing, Howwwlin' at 4 keeelomeetres per hour, y'understand . . . Fit to weeke the deed, it waas !
How long can they keep this up ?
Every time they are turned loose they dig themselves further in
Have their Lawyers given up ?

Re: Gerry McCann Radio 4 Interview - 29/09/2018
Howling wind ?
I thought was Gerry himself who was howling ?
Funny isn't it that howling wind waited till Kate was in the apartment closing the door that was further open than we left it , then the wind decided to strike and slam the door ( cue over exaggerated jump back !) Then waited again before whooshing the open/closed/trapped behind the bed and chair curtains !
Wait till it's light ? Never heard of a torch Gerry ? You had one reading from you script ?
It's so cold ? Err I thought Maddy was sleeping on top of the bedclothes because it was hot ?
So glad I didn't listen to this b/s , I value my blood pressure !
As said above , this is HUGE , the rabbit hole is so much deeper than many realise with so many involved Perverting the Course of Justice and Misconduct in Public Office . Poor Madeleine let down by so many , unless someone breaks and talks we'll never imho know why , If someone does talk how many will they take down with them ?

Re: Gerry McCann Radio 4 Interview - 29/09/2018
So, when she went missing first they expected to find her hiding in the apartment or somewhere in the immediate environs. What!! - no jemmied shutters, open window or billowing blinds in this new version of events!
They concluded she had been abducted by a paedophile to be abused. The dog on the street knows the statistics which show that in the vast majority of such cases children are cast aside fairly locally and soon after they are taken, yet they failed to search for her nearby, (alive or dead) because it was dark! His daughter could have been lying dying in some local gutter or ditch but he needed daylight before he would deign to check this out!!!!!
He didn't know the media had been contacted (by some of his own Tapas 9 group) - yeah right!
No mention of Tannerman.
Gerry still cannot accept guilt for his self-confessed neglect for the safety of his children. They were only "partly" responsible! They are "model parents"!
They were "crumbling" for a very long time afterward - oops what about laughing your head off a few days later on the balcony, and when leaving church on her 4th birthday!
"It took Kate much much longer" -- but, but, she has told us she was sleeping well just a few days later.
They were Catholics, who could n't decide whether they were Catholic enough to raise their child in the religion but demanded a foreign priest in the middle of the night because she had vanished!
No mention of Smithman, the e-fits or Martin Smith's allegation about Gerry being Smithman.
He glosses over being made Arguidos and fleeing Portugal (it was all in the interests of good international relations)
He implies they were exonerated by mentioning learning that there would be no charges - no mention of the Portuguese Supreme Court statement or the ongoing appeal or Goncalo Amaral.
No message for Madeleine, no exhortation to keep a look-out for her!
And the Oscar for heavy sighs and snuffling goes to --- Gerry mcCann - although 15 months is long enough to grieve before getting on with it!
What a stomach churning, pity-seeking, self-serving attempt to regain and reinforce the McCann narrative of events and draw a line under her disappearance.

The Daily Star quote 'He believes in heaven' and 'we'll be united again one day' unquote
Interesting juxtaposition of quotes by The Star from Proffy Mc Proff, don't you think? Along the same lines as 'pushing buttons and we're all gone, we're all together'???
