thank you for that Bristow, I was unsure of what you meant as the comment re autism was very brief and blunt.

My son suffers from anxiety at times and was wrongly diagnosed as having mild OCD at first. An acquaintance of mine has a son at primary school, he has Asperger's and when he gets overstimulated and upset by different noises in class, he now no longer stands with his hands over his ears shaking his head in frustration, the teacher sees the signs and asks her assistant to take him to work in a quiet room near his classroom.

Kevin Halligen conned £500,000 plus expenses out of the Directors of 'Madeleine's Fund - Leaving No Stone Unturned', whilst living the high life in London, New York and Italy with his girlfriend Shirin Trachiotis.

It's just astonishing what con-merchants can get away with these days - and how many people are prepared to believe them...

Yes my son could not be in mainstream school one of the aspects of his autism is over sensitivity to certain sounds and stimulus. He also becomes totally focussed on one thing, at the moment it is WW1 that is all he will discuss and comes out with comments that the average Joe in the street would or could find offensive, although he is not meaning it to be offensive. He also knows in the finest detail a lot of what was involved in WW1.
I also have to cut all the labels out of his clothes and underwear otherwise he will just take them off as the sensation is horrific to him.

There are many, many aspects of Autism, too many to list on this thread as it is off topic.

Thanks for that RD - I understand how things may have come across particularly as there are a lot of negative comments about Birch. But I think he has many positive traits (which are exaggerated) and hence come across as if he`s stupid. Mind you, this recent request for money sets me wondering if he`s being super-naive or whether someone has put him up to it (RM?).

He must be quite wealthy to have undertaken this project in the first place, and one wonders whether he made money from his company or whether he inherited money.

Long before Birch came into the news with his ground penetrating radar stuff et al, there were stories about him and IIRC a couple of "friends", who had - the 3 of them - privileged information about the McCann case and theories/proof ... Then he [Birch] conned them and run away with the "project" on his own ....

Sorry to be so vague. Even without my present fatigue, I wouldn't be able to be more coherent about this ...

There is certainly some kind of connection or contact between Danie Krugel and Stephen Birch, and, yes, I think they fell out over something, I did read that somewhere.

So...

1. Was this hairbrush in Praia da Luz - or left behind in Rothley?

2. Why did Krugel need the twins' hairs?

There are con-men, more con-men and even more con-men (and hundreds of 'psychics', who are also con-men and con-women) all over this poor girl's disappearance

The PJ couldn't find any evidence of Maddie, nor a hairbrush nor toothbrush and they were there on the scene straight away. If such had existed, had they been rushed off upstairs to the Paynes possibly? If so, why?
However, if you didn't want your 'abducted' child to be found because the 'fund' would dry up and you'd then have to fork out to pay your own mortgage and New Zealand white, wouldn't you give 'any old hair brush' with 'honest gov, it's kosher' lots of hair attached, knowing that FDanny Krugel isn't going to find her anyway because he's possibly .... I was going to say fake... but I must think of another word so as to remain politically correct.
