Re: Holiday weather
BUT, the sky in the playground pic is very cloudy and grey, which doesn't fit with Saturday.
Although, Gerry is wearing what appear to be the same shorts as in the pool pic.

Re: Holiday weather
The background to the playground photo indeed looks like 4pm, PeterMacPeterMac wrote:That make it very possible that all the playground pictures were taken on day 1, the Satuday, mid to late afternoon, when we know the weather was good.
We are looking just to the north of east along the southern edge of the big pool with the western end of the tapas bar behind the tree.
The angle of elevation of the shadow inside the playhouse and the direction of the tree shadow in the top right corner say mid to late afternoon. The brown haired girl in the foreground also seems to be casting a small shadow in that direction
But the shadows of the other people go from bottom left to top right, which makes it early evening (about 7.30pm) even though their shadows are far too short for that time of day.
That said, I'm not convinced that they're all from the same direction either.
It doesn't look like a photo, it looks like a montage of lots of things, really weird, so trying to work out when it was taken would be futile.

Re: Holiday weather
I do feel sorry for the bald guy because he hasn't got a shadow at all.
the more you look at it, the more ridiculous the playground photo becomes.
Maddie's shadow is a midday shadow, sun elevation near 70 degrees. But the sun isn't over there at midday, it's off to the right.
The shadow of the guy in the rust coloured top (and possibly his lady friend too) just disappears behind Maddie's head. It should come out the other side but it doesn't.
Is this really an officially released photo or is it just a joke compilation?

The shadow from the tree (background, top right) appears to fall in a completely different direction to other shadows.

This is something that gets me , there were other guests there at that time surely they are as intruiged if not more so than us to get to the truth of this , after all this time none of these people have used a forum or viewed the available pictures and recognised themselves ?...there must be someone in this picture who can tell us exactly what day and time it was ...I also agree very badly composed picture ...almost like a " spot the ball " competition .The Snapper wrote:I do feel sorry for the bald guy because he hasn't got a shadow at all.

Re: Holiday weather
Yes Ras it's a photographic disaster (though if you split it into three or four they may be much better).
Just noticed that Maddie's body has a shadow but her head doesn't (it should be in front of her feet if the sun's over there - which it isn't of course).
The people who were accidently photographed would be able to say if there were two or three suns that day, wouldn't they?
Lance - I would say the tree shadow is consistent with other permanent things eg the playhouse but not any of the people

Also there's a shadow of something bottom right of the picture (not sure what it is) but it's pointing in the wrong direction entirely. That shadow is pointing towards the middle of the picture whereas there shouldn't be any shadow at all there.

Like the top right tree shadow and the playhouse shadow, it's probably a 4pm shadow of something out of shot. Google Earth shows a tree, so maybe that. At 4pm the sun would be over your right shoulder. But yes it's completely at odds with the shadows of all the peoplecanada12 wrote:Also there's a shadow of something bottom right of the picture (not sure what it is) but it's pointing in the wrong direction entirely. But this photo can't have been an official release can it? It's someone having a laugh, right?

Re: Holiday weather
I have no wish to bring more confusion, but I have wondered what Sean was leaning forward onto - his left arm rather stretched out as if he were catching a large ball/stroking an animal ??
He does appear a little overbalanced.

Well, someone released it to Bruno Press!

Re: Holiday weather
Here's a hi-res version where you can see a green smudge down at the bottom right corner, next to the weird shadow. No explanation for that at all.
(You need to save it to your hard drive and zoom in to see it properly)

Re: Holiday weather
Could the shadow at the bottom right be of the person taking the photo?

Sure, or another piece of playground equipment. But why would their shadow be going in the opposite direction to the shadows of the main characters in the picture? Their shadows are pointing to the right. This shadow is pointing to the left. Doesn't make sense.

Re: Holiday weather
Sean's, Gerry's and the other girl's positions would fit better with sitting on the beach with Sean making a sandcastle.
Maddie's right leg clearly does not belong.

That is a very good explanation LDB, hadn't thought of that one and it would make sense. Maddie doesn't fit in, in the position she is, but if she were to the right of the younger ones ??

The position Madeleine's in reminds me of when I was a child and I was jumping off something. You bend over like that and swing your arms backwards in order to keep your balance while jumping. Agreed that the right leg is completely weird. And she has no right knee, if you zoom in. Also no right arm, but it could be argued it's hidden by her body,
Something else - the right foot is obviously raised as there's a shadow underneath the shoe. If this is a genuine photo it must have captured her just before she toppled over - there's no way you can keep your balance with your right foot off the ground, in that position.

Re: Holiday weather
Also, is there any explanation for the shadow inside Gerry's left arm ?? And the shadow on his shorts too ?? Can he be forming a shadow on the front of his body, yet
also form a shadow behind himself , or am I getting quite confused ?

Shadow of the play thing should be part visible and my puzzle is the tiny human figuresseen through the hole ofthe little building . They're too far away in relation toother people in the same plane. If you see what I mean.

Remove Maddie's right leg. Rotate her 90 deg to the right (clockwise). Sitting (on the beach?) position - very windy day?

It's an applique design, stitched hearts or something, which are a bit soiled, you can see in this photo:

Tried that... seems a bit unnatural for sitting. She could be jumping off a slide though. If you rotate it even more, she could have just slid down the slide (on the other side of the little house) and landed...?
