Sorry, but what has any person in power to gain by covering up the demise of Maddie? These conspiacy theories do get a little tiresome unless anyone can flesh them out to make sense.

Russiandoll, no doubt about that, that new picture will come with the updated book of kate.
I'm very surprised to see on DM almost all comments are pro mcanns, even allowing more of those insulting portuguese police. Check out on this new article about the no reopening of the case from the portuguese police.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It showing that now, DM is doctoring clearly the comments.
sometimes ago on the Mcanns article there were comments of both sides. But now those anti-Mc are wooshed away.
What a free speech country has become UK!!!! Not only now there is no more any main newsmedia who can dare criticise the mcanns, but also their readers are not allowed to post comments criticise or questions the Mcanns behaviours and inconsistencies in their story.
Its seems the only place remaining for someone to express freely your idea on Madeleine case is this FORUM!!!!
i'm afraid the next target of Carter R. could be this forum

Good programme, a phone in, good presenter too, very fair and not biased
The question for the phone is "Do you think enough money has been spent of Madeleine McCann disappearance"
He said there's a sense that our police force have a sense of superiority - they think PJ should bow to their lead.

I got the impression he was not in charge or at least influenced by higher up powers. I do hope they come down like dominoes if any of them are involved in hiding the truth. Thats the least that should happen.

The police have identified a failure to trace and interview all the holidaymakers and staff at the Ocean Club complex in Praia da Luz from where MMC "vanished" on May 3 2007.
There are unexplained gaps in the chronology of events around the time of her "disappearance" and a lack of forensic examination of records documenting mobile phone activity in the area .... Oh yeah but whose phone records [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Then a very pertinent q might be asked of SY...why if it is for the search, was it given to the McCanns before publication? I think even some supporters might be bothered by this if it happens.
russiandoll, the McCanns worked with SY together on this new photo. I would look at it from the other point of view, which I asked on the other thread. They knew of this photo, and worked on it, therefore I would expect it to be on the cover of the book, as it is a book to help find Madeleine isn't it, and having the latest picture, instead of a 2 year old would surely be more helpful.
I think though we are concluding the same thing..... that the photo is primarily to help recognise and find a child, so put it on the book by all means, but dont wait for book's publication to release it into public domain....it is way too important a tool in the search, is it not? It was done by police for reasons to do with the search not primarily to assist the family.
I will listen to Redwood again talk about this photo and why produced. Find Madeleine site says produced by SY so why on earth have the police produced this to tie in with her book ?

Well if you're you're a McCann lover no wonder you can't work out what the missing letters are as you can't bear to think that there is any other reason for Madeleine's disappearance, other than "abduction".
As for the MCanns piece, what exactly does that mean?

No re-opening of the case
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The Portuguese police will continue cooperating with the investigation of missing British girl Madeleine McCann, in 2007, but sees no evidence to justify the formal reopening of the case, as suggested by the United Kingdom.
The deputy director of the Judicial Police lusa (PJ), Pedro do Carmo, said on Thursday told Efe that the working group between the two countries, formed last year to study possible new evidence about Madeleine, communicate regularly and work of "a coordinated way" on the case of missing British girl.
However, the police officer noted that, until now, were not found consistent evidence that may support a proposal to reopen the formal investigation to prosecutors. The agency closed the case in 2008.
Regarding collaboration with the British police, Carmo said that the contacts occur when those responsible to understand they are necessary and useful. Also, clarified that both the Portuguese group as the British remain operationally independent.
According to police, the Portuguese team, based in Porto in the Department of Higher Coordination of Criminal Investigation, has the autonomy to develop their work, but did not determine a deadline for completion of investigations.
Madeleine disappeared on May 3, 2007, four years in a beach apartment in Algarve, southern Portugal, where he vacationed with his parents and other British families. Parents Kate and Gerry McCann left her with two younger siblings while they went out to dinner with friends.
The couple argued that the girl had been kidnapped and held a large media campaign to rescue her, by which grossed several million euro. The Portuguese prosecutor came to declare them as suspects in the disappearance, but eventually acquit them and close the case a year later for lack of conclusive evidence on the whereabouts of the child.
Last year, the British police resumed the case at the request of the McCanns, and this week, the head of research, Andy Redwood, held that there was insufficient evidence to continue looking for the girl.

well im confused as ive posted a reply three times now to you and it doesnt show, i am no mccann lover i cant stand them and their proven lies,i dont get your missing letters lark and have no idea why anyone would hide her death unless someone in big power was involved but where is the evidence? As for what the mccann piece was my question to you was if madeleine was abused where did they come into it.
Goodnight newintown from me, i certainly do NOT support the mccans in any way shape or form ever, they have a case to answer and they have no intention of doing so therefore imo they are guilty

Millions of pounds of taxpayers hard earned cash spent on a review and where has it got us? - absolutely nowhere. It seems that SY have been wasting their time as well as our cash - 195 possible leads but no new evidence whatsoever.

No reason to reopen Maddie probe, say police
Updated: 05:54, Friday April 27, 2012
Portuguese police have no new evidence that would give them cause to reopen an inquiry into the disappearance in 2007 of the British youngster Madeleine McCann.
'There are no new elements at the moment that would allow for the reopening of the inquiry,' Pedro do Carmo, the deputy head of the criminal police department, told AFP on Thursday.
His comments come a day after British police reviewing her disappearance said they believed she could still be alive five years after she went missing in Praia da Luz and urged their Portuguese counterparts to reopen their search.
Do Carmo said a team of investigators would continue 'to re-examine elements of the inquiry' in collaboration with British police but he said such a practice was normal and did not constitute a reopening of the probe.
A British team from Scotland, which has been sifting through material relating to the youngster, said on Wednesday they had identified 195 'investigative opportunities' that could be followed up.
They also released a computer-generated image, created by experts, of how Madeleine might look now approaching what would be her ninth birthday on May 12.
Do Carmo said the Portuguese police had received 'no formal request for the reopening of the inquiry'.
Madeleine's parents Gerry and Kate McCann have never abandoned their high-profile campaign to find their eldest daughter, who disappeared on the Portuguese south coast on May 3, 2007 while her parents were at dinner.

Hi Sharonl, well as Rainbow-fairy so succinctly put it "I could have told them that for a penny and saved the tax payer 2 million.
DCI Andy Redwood: “We are working on the basis of two possibilities here. One is that Madeleine is still alive; and the second that she is sadly dead"

Perks? If our MPs can have luxury hotels, glitzy parties and porn movies why cant our cops have a drop of scrumpy?

Be careful of commentators acting naive and fishing for reactions that could be damning. Remember how TB was gulled by someone impersonating an interested party.

Having a quiet reflection 24 hours after the worst missed penalty in history, my only comment tonight is Baldrick would have come up with a better spin than what BBC, SY, TM et al managed to cobble together on prime time TV. It was such a blatant insult to our intelligence, as well as to the PJ, GA, the dogs, I feel quite numb.

The most disturbing bit of the panorama 'show' for me was the erroneous reference to Dna dogs. This is not just an error - any decent sub editor would pick this up. It was beyond spin - it was a deliberate attempt to mislead which will have succeeded. The Bbc are Imho just the puppet of those that pull the strings. All this programme has done is make me worry more about this case - whatever is being covered up must be horrifying for all this effort and resources which has been thrown at it. Makes me very sad - for Madeleine and for my own children and all the other children who are going to grow up being told what to think and believe. Horrible and chilling. Goodnight all you good people out there. The desire for the truth should still be held up even if some just want to trample it into the dirt.
