S.1 Ep.2 - Missing Madeleine McCann
An episode of Truth Seeker
By Truth Seeker
Truth Seeker is a True Crime Podcast:
This podcast will cover various true crime cases to include missing person and unsolved murders. With hopes that discussing the cases again will help bring up new leads or information to help solve these unsolved cases. Some cases are high profile but my hopes are to cover some less known cases seeking the truth of what happened to these individuals. As the podcast progresses and grows, I will be conducting interviews with individuals directly involved with these cases.

This saga has produced a vocabulary all of its own.
Furious . . . Whoosh . . . Slammed . . . Disgraced . . . Notoriously . . . Trolling . . . Dossier . . . Ludicrous
it has even brought into general use the legal term "Abducted" instead of the more usual taken, stolen, or kidnapped
There are similar vocabularies used exclusively in only one context.
The only person ever described as "having a real ZEST for life" is a recently and tragically deceased 3 or 4 year old girl.
It is never used for anyone else, and can only be said by a priest who never even knew the child.
There are other phrases which can only be spoken in this context
". . . had the whole of her life in front of her . . ." is a particularly meaningless one.
". . . had the whole of the REST of her life . . ." is more accurate, but a little less punchy or lachrymatory.
Again it is only applied to those under the age of about 15. Beyond that it would begin to sound even more "ludicrous" [qv.].
We are used to the medically unlikely "our hearts GO OUT", and frankly ignore most of the rest.
It is axiomatic that any deceased young person will have been wonderful, highly intelligent, outstanding, bright, happy, sporting, helpful, "caring" [the more recent epithet] and no one begrudges the parents and relatives those memories.
But no one is allowed to be 'Normal'.
We need a completely new set of Clichés [oxymoron alert]

We used to read that "the parents are under sedation", or are "too upset to speak". These days they hold a 'photo call, with prepared speech, as if at an award ceremony. It's repulsive.

And we also saw a feisty 3 year old so "sporting, helpful and caring" that she jumped into the sea to save a friend's hat, even though it's very unlikely she was even there at the time!

Re: Podcasts: Madeleine McCann
So beautiful, astonishingly bright, and I’d have to say very charismatic. She would shine out of a crowd. So—God forgive me—maybe that’s part of the problem. That special quality. Some ******* picked up on that.
Jon Corner
That's in just one sentence. Not very realistic when talking of a three year old child.

Re: Podcasts: Madeleine McCann
what utterly pathetically-educated, badly informed DRIVEL from three silly American girl students.
"So starting at er nineteen o'clock, which is, hold on, NINE , I think . . "
is the general level
And they START with. 'disappeared from her bed . . .'
I've emailed them with a link to the e-book
"The war needs a futile gesture, Perkins"
But yet more proof that the Long term Strategy to keep the official story in the public eye
and to actively prevent any other theories being "purported' has been worth every one of the
millions of pounds spent on it

Saves me watching it so. Listened to a recent podcast of the JFK assassination for about 10 minutes, before realising that if they didn't know the name of the Governor sitting in front of Kennedy, the standard of their research is up to much. Whether its YouTube or Podcasts including Madeline's name will get you more hits (minimum hit on youtube seems to be 200,000 views). Must of them are distinctly average, irrespective of whichever side of the fence you are coming from.

It is nothing new.
That aside, the guest Isabelle McFadden, formerly known as the 'Queen of Portugal' and more recently 'Isabelle McFabulous' is a vain fantasist who has been exposed as a pseudo 'expert' on all things McCann related over and over again for a number of years. She likes to think of herself as the 'Queen' of justice in the name of Madeleine McCann - amongst others I hasten to add. She has nothing to offer but vanity and claims of inside contact with the PJ, Operation Grange and any number of other case related units, without a single proof other than her own word.
She has a fan club on twitter which is where her persona belongs, amid all the other pseudo 'experts'.
Leave her there - where she belongs!
There is more evidence based knowledge here on CMOMM than you will ever find on twitter or facebook, without the unnecessary conceit or self aggrandisement!

I hadn't seen this Podcast before, I'm glad I watched it, but there was a lot of misinformation there.
This woman is not doing the search for Madeleine any good, the people who interviewed her had no or very little knowledge of the facts and so let her state things as facts without challenging her.

Re: Podcasts: Madeleine McCann
The woman and her devout social media following are a menace to the cause. A clear case of if you shout loud enough people will believe everything you say and that is precisely what Ms McFadden does. Such is her social influence, along with a few stragglers, journalists far and wide take notice - no names mentioned!
I seldom visit twitter or facebook because I find it very tedious and of little or no interest but when I do look in, they are still repeating the same old nonsense (forum myth) that was debunked years ago. Always with the overriding excuse that they might find the missing piece of the jigsaw by poring over the same old myths. It's idleness and hero worship personified .
If you want to learn about the case, twitter and/or facebook is not the place to be!
One thing for certain, these people play right into team McCanns hand. All the time they can cling on to the 'troll' epithet, they are riding high! For the most part I can't blame the McCanns for taking advantage of these silly people - some of the outrageous things they come out with are spiteful at best, murderous worst.
They wouldn't last five minutes here on CMOMM. The odd one creeps in or lurks from time to time but there is only safety in numbers!

Podcast: The Opperman Report' Thomas Horan : Is Madeleine McCann Alive
The Opperman Report' (podcast)
Thomas Horan : Is Madeleine McCann Alive?
If Madeleine was never abducted, if she died on May 3rd, why was it reported as an abduction?
Despite the absence of a trial, what we have now is a fairly precise version of events from the McCanns themselves, a by-product of their relentless PR. We also know the original lead investigator, Goncalo Amaral’s, counter-narrative, now a legally defensible matter of public record.
The questions that arise from these opposing narratives are dead simple:
Which narrative is more credible?
Which narrator is more credible?
What was the motive behind all the publicity? Neither Madeleine nor her abductor ultimately benefited from the ongoing media barrage, so who did?
True crime maestro, Nick van der Leek, plumbs quagmires of confusion and a thicket of thorny inconsistencies to probe what lies beneath: the psychologies. What is the significance of "doctors" as suspects? Did it matter or mean anything that the McCanns and their cabal of friends in the Algarve were mostly doctors?
Peeling away the gossamer threads, over the course of just four days [April 29th – May 2nd], van der Leek intuits that very little was routine: not the weather, not where meals were eaten, not where or when they slept and not what they did as a family. But what were their routines when it came to other, murkier things, like sleeping patterns, cell phones and sedatives?
Drawing intangibles out of the darkness, van der Leek sews the vexing loose ends from several conflicting stories into a definite - if not definitive - end-result.

Re: Podcasts: Madeleine McCann
Re the podcast mentioned in Jills opening post - well, I have to say, this was an extraordinarily bad show. It's astonishing that they could make 10 (ten) episodes out of really nothing. They never seemed to have taken a cursory look at the PJ files, they spend ours discussing stuff that has never been validated as fact (like the claim that the McCs and their group of friends didn't have their cellphones with them), and Jim Clemente was dwelling for ever on the well-known fact that Goncalo Amaral stayed at the restaurant after having been notified of the disappearance of a British girl from a holiday resort; for the rest of the show (as far as I managed to listen to it), Jim Clemente readily picks up on anything that would confirm his hunch that the McCanns were completely innocent of any wrongdoing, thus defending them, and at one point he ranted seemingly for hours about Pat Brown and why Mark Saunokonoko (to whose Maddie-Podcast they were referring to) took her on his show, he was clearly upset with the fact that Mark Saunokonoko interviewed PB instead of him, Jim Clemente, the *former* FBI profiler. Needless to say that they were all arguing in favor of the McCanns, Laura Richards seem to have tried 'to play devils advocate' at times, but this was practically to no avail, as Jim Clemente dominated the whole conversation, and the American girl who hosted the show was apparently completely clueless.
To summ it up: It's a complete waste of time. How they were able to stretch their flimsy show to ten episodes is a mystery to me.

Re: Podcasts: Madeleine McCann
@Verdi, but Jim Clemente as well as Laura Richards are supposed to be top coppers from the FBI and Scotland Yard or at least *former* crime experts turned media figures, they also made a documentary on the Jonbenet Ramsey murder. Therefore I actually had some expectations of them - maybe wrongfully so, as I said, they seem to be primarily media figures by now.
I fully understand your avoidance though;). Just wanted to set the record straight about this crappy podcast, in case others have the same high expectations as I did.
