No doubt in the final trial of the long-running libel saga that is McCanns v. Amaral, reference will be made to the Attorney-General's final report, which effectively archived the investigation sine die, unless 'new and credible evidence' of those responsible for Madeleine's disappearance was produced.

Extracts from the 58-page report are rarely quoted. Here are a few:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On page 4597, it says: “The witnesses’ statements revealed important details which were not entirely understood and coherent”.

On the same page, the Attorney-General laments the failure of the McCanns and their friends to co-operate with the Portuguese Police’s wish to carry out a reconstruction of the events of the night that Madeleine was reported missing. He says this: “These [witness statements] would need to be tested and brought together at the crime scene in order to resolve the apparent inconsistencies, if not disagreements”.

The Attorney-General continues: “The technique for this is a reconstruction, but despite every effort by the Public Prosecutor’s office and the JP [Policia Judiciara]…this was not possible”.

On page 4598, various hypotheses are mentioned. They explicitly include, quote: “accidental death and subsequent hiding of a body".

On page 4603, the Attorney-General states: “The British media had been told of the disappearance, and the BBC apparently knew at 2.00am on 4 May”. On the following page, 4604, he adds: “As recorded in the questioning of Rachel Mampilly (one of the McCanns’ friends), via the Letter Rogatory, it was she who telephoned the wife of a friend of hers who worked for BBC news, to tell her of the disappearance and ask if it could be reported in the news”.

On page 4605, the Attorney-General makes this comment on the abduction theory: “The preliminary facts suggested this could be a case of abduction, although nothing was, or is, ruled out. The possibility of abduction was exhaustively investigated. No ransom was ever requested, nor were any sufficiently consistent clues to support this supposition found”.

On page 4621, the Attorney-General states: “Matthew Oldfield…went the usual way and entered through the French window of the McCann family’s apartment, which was open/slid to. From the middle of the lounge he saw the twins in their cots, as the door was ajar, but did not enter their bedroom and could not therefore say whether Madeleine was asleep in he bed…”

On page 4621, the Attorney-General refers to the evidence of Jane Tanner. He writes: “Jane Tanner only recounted seeing a person with child some time after the disappearance was discovered”.

From page 4628 onwards, at Section D, the Attorney-General discusses the evidence of the dogs. He lists 13 places, all associated with the McCanns, at which the cadaver dogs of police dog handler Martin Grime alerted to scents of a human corpse and/or blood, adding, “The work of these dogs can be appreciated much better on film...the dogs are trained in detecting dead persons".

On page 4630 the Attorney-General quotes Martin Grime as saying, “The dogs’ evidence…can help in the gathering of intelligence in investigating serious crimes”.

On page 4635, he says: “…the parents were the last people known to have been with Madeleine, alive and in a known place…the possibility of a body having been in the apartment and in the vehicle used by the parents were reasons for suspecting their involvement. As they were called once more to make a statement, having no plausible explanation for these facts and faced with evidence produced by the dogs…they had to be named as suspects…”

"13 places, all associated with the McCanns, at which the cadaver dogs alerted to scents of a human corpse and/or blood".....wow! I'd say in the law of averages that this is pretty conclusive. Not just 1 place but 13 different places all only associated to one source....the mccanns

This is a great find 13 places, never heard that before. Its a damming report of how the Mcs would not co-operate....and prove their innocence !!!

The
Attorney-General continues: “The technique for this is a
reconstruction, but despeite every effort by the Public Prosecutor’s
office and the JP [Policia Judiciara]…this was not possible”.

This shows how desperate they were to find out WHAT happened to Maddie !!!

The McCanns suggest someone to the police who might be able to find Madeleine’s corpse:

Despite everything, until a certain time in the investigation, the family fed and sustained the theory of an abduction. However, on a date on which we cannot be precise, it was suggested by the McCanns themselves that a person should be consulted who might be able to, eventually, indicate the probable location of Madeleine’s corpse.

This suggestion was inexplicable to members of the investigation team. Why were the family themselves raising the hypothesis that little Maddie was dead?

Our decision to bring in the cadaver dogs:

To anyone being libelled for suggesting Maddie is dead, it was the mccanns themselves that suggested this and what prompted the PJ to send in the cadaver/blood dogs to which they alerted in 13 different places of cadaver/blood only sourced to the mccanns

* A human has 5 million cells to assist the sense of smell while a dog has 200 million. We need to highlight that this kind of inspection is frequent in the U.K. and the dogs’ success rate is 100%.

* In a total of 10 cars examined [in an underground car park) the cadaver dog and the blood dog marked only the car of the McCann family.

* No less relevant is the refinement of the results that point towards Madeleine’s DNA as being present in Apartment 5A, behind the sofa, a spot that was marked by both the cadaver and the blood dog. In every place marked by the blood dog, the laboratory confirmed that this DNA was present.

* From everything that was established, the facts point in the direction of the death of Madeleine McCann occurring on the night of 3 May 2007, inside apartment 5A,

* In the same manner, the soft toy that was used by the dead child, which was found at the top of the bed where she usually slept (see the photos from the initial inspection) reveals that someone put it there at a moment after Madeleine’s death, given the fact that the bed itself doesn’t have any cadaver odour.

* It must be added that the cadaver dog strongly signalled the bedroom where the McCann couple slept, which may indicate the moving of the corpse from the actual death spot (the living room) into a non-visible part of the said master bedroom of the McCanns.

How can the mccanns even dare to try and sue GA when the official police reports say the exact thing as GA's book! The mccanns are in for one big hiding next week

Put it this way, everything that GA said in his book is in the official PJ files which are freely available for anyone to read anywhere in the world!

This contains a few facts that are very interesting. Especially the fact that the bed itself didn't have cadaver odour but cuddlecat did. I've always seen it as a prop.
