You are perfectly correct. GM didn't receive any award but was there as a guest of honour to make a speach praising the police forces for their work on the case. Gross misjudgment on the part of the organisers I would say. Another clever marketing by TM.

Former News International CEO Rebekah Brooks has had her bail renewed over allegations of phone hacking and illegal payments to police and other officials.

She is already facing trial over cover-up charges, but must now wait at least another two months to learn whether she will face more charges.

Mrs Brooks, ex-editor of the Sun and News of the World, was arrested last July, 10 days after the closure of the NOTW.

She was first questioned over allegations of phone hacking and illegal payments and those investigations continue.

She has now been told that her bail has been extended for two months.

Last week, she was charged with three counts of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

She said she would fight the charges, in which she is accused of hiding computer files and documents from police.

She is due to appear in court next month with her racehorse trainer husband, Charlie, and four others who all face one charge.

Probably the argument will be 'the police looked there'...it was 'planted evidence'...anything Rebekah Brooks feels the need to hide is nowhere near a dustbin/a garage imo.

Hello all – have been following all your hard
work for some months & am finally taking the plunge to offer a post.

Just a thought re Rebecca Brooks’ comment
around the time the N.O.W. folded to the effect that “in a year from now all
will become clear”. Could this mean that:

·
the
“poor McCanns” stories weren’t selling as well as before

·
the
N.O.W.’s calculation was that “evil McCanns” stories would sell much better
(everything they do is about one thing & one thing only: increasing circulation)

·
so,
the N.O.W. forced Cameron to greenlight the SY Review (via the threat to “keep
Teresa May on the front pages”) as a way to get the damning evidence back into
the public domain

Of course since then N.O.W. has gone & Brooks
is mired in her own difficulties, but maybe her trial will shed some light on
this?

As I said - just a thought.
