My
grandparents always used to say that the years pass more quickly the
older you get. It certainly feels that way. I still dream of being able
to stop time. Our only alternative however is to continue doing as much
as we can to the best of our ability to enhance the search for
Madeleine. So that is what we’ll do.

Thank you to everyone who
has bought and read my book. Not only is this helping to fund our
investigation and campaign, it will also improve and maintain awareness
of Madeleine and our need to find her. It seems obvious that the more
people who are informed worldwide, the more eyes and ears Madeleine will
have assisting the search for her. We are really grateful for your
support.

We also appreciate the general public’s help in
achieving a review of Madeleine’s case. It is a big relief to us that
our government finally agreed for a review to take place. We are
grateful to them and to the Metropolitan Police Service for undertaking
this fundamental and highly valuable procedure which has been underway
now for several months. Although it will be a lengthy and difficult
process, it is definitely a major step forward for Madeleine.

I
would also like to thank everyone who has written to us or sent their
support in some way over the past six months. We have once again been
touched by the incredible kindness and commitment shown to us and
Madeleine, and bolstered by the continuing encouragement and positivity.

Not a lot I can say about that really. There's not much substance to it. I'm sure her fans will be overwhelmed by her 'sincere' message of thanks and gratitude though. (I haven't read the replies, got the link from elsewhere.)

THE mother of missing Madeleine McCann said yesterday she still wished she could “stop time”.

Kate McCann, who marked the fourth anniversary of Maddy’s disappearance in May, said she and husband Gerry would not give up on finding their little girl.

In a poignant message on the Maddy search website, she wrote: “My grandparents always said the years pass more quickly the older you get. It certainly feels that way. I still dream of being able to stop time.

This missive is full of platitudes but what surprises me (well it doesnt really I suppose) is the number of people who write such gushing messages and seem to have accepted the TM 2explanation" without question.

What a difference between this puerile nonsense and the dignity of the website for Keith Bennett, whose mother has been looking for her son for 45 years, yes 45 years KM! without histrionics and public donations. I notice also that the website says that it is the police's job to look for Keith. Without being hindered Mrs McC.! please note.

The difference between our society today, one influenced by celebrity and attention seeking publicity clowns, and that of back then, perhaps when tragedy, which both cases are, were dealt with very differently.

I cannot say what happened because I only have the informations on forums such as this to go on and I was not there but my intuition and a lifetime of working with people suggests after this vomit inducing, sympathy sucking post from that person is absolute tripe.

Someone on another post suggested larma would catch up with these people, but I guess being "devout" RC (hahahaha!!!!) then purgatory would be a better bet!

Nice post Tigger, I particularly liked this response. How true! How can anyone dispute that. Just who are the public looking for, which version of 'Madeleine'? They have NO clue! The damage was done right at the very start with the release of the heavily doctored 'iconic' poster girl image that in no way resembled the little girl(s?) in the other Madeleine photos.

Releasing that iconic photo muddied the waters alright, but in terms of marketing, it was a good ploy.

Hi and welcome, delly55! Sad to say there does exist a place where everyone has swallowed the McCann nonsense hook, line and sinker - happily for us, that place is called 'Kate and Gerry's Wildest Dreams'. You are amongst the like-minded here...
Oh I had a chuckle thinking of your mum's reaction! I'm lucky in a way, because personally I don't know of ANYONE who believes the 'official line'. My Mum and Dad are both very good at spotting fibbers (I could never get away with anything as a teen, lol) and both said, from Day one (like me) 'Those two are LYING'.
However, the subject is pretty much banned now in their house, my dads reaction is 'We all know pretty much what DIDN'T happen to that child, but you need to forget about it now. Nothing will ever be done about it, the cover-up goes too high'. Well, admitted he is often right but I'm praying this is one of the occasions he is wrong! Because, I CAN'T forget. I CAN'T let it go. There is a little girl who needs her justice and we all need to stay strong and do our utmost to make sure she gets it. I know I'm going to.

I think there were only 18 reactions or so to this on their Facebook page? It may be just a message to their fans to keep things going.
I think that even a lot of their supporters are getting bored and in the present economic climate the huge amount publicly donated to their cause won't encourage people to donate. Wy should they?

I just found it a little weird. Like she knows them ? But if she knows them why write at the message board instead of contacting them directly? Might just be a crazy supporter and my mind is spinning wild :)

Conversely the more relevant question is why those who spout this type of guff are so believing of people they haven't met, and, more importantly, whose version of events has no basis in fact or evidence and is riddled with contradictions and mistruths?

I just don't get it.

A couple of weeks ago I was speaking to my cousin about books and she announced that she had just finished reading Kate Mccanns new book.
I asked her what she thought about the Mccann case and she said how dreadful it all was and how she felt for the poor parents, although she did mention that she found it very strange that after massive publicity and the Madeleine fund etc that they were still not a fraction closer to finding her etc.

I asked her if I could borrow the book (as I refuse to buy it) and in return I copied Goncalo Amarals book for her to read.
The next day she visited me a changed person, took back Kates book to re-read with new eyes, realised that the book had absolutely no substance and is practically a book about the parents, NOT Madeleine and has been converted.
She passed on the copy of The truth of a lie to her colleagues (she is a nurse) and so far another ten people have seen the truth.

I have pointed her to this site and she is likewise informing her coworkers.
It's a case of informing the masses, so many people just accept what they are fed from the media, see the average middle class doctors, feel sorry for them and then get on with their lives and gradually forget about it all.
I hope to god that Amarals book will get to be on the shelves in the UK asap, will that ever happen?

Me, me neither! I am often put in mind of brainwashed cult members? If anyone says anything they don't like/can't counter with fact etc, repeat stock phrase eg 'There is no evidence to show that Madeleine has come to harm' or even the ridiculous 'the McCanns were cleared of ANY involvement in Maddies disappearence'! Erm, sorry? Not to my knowledge they haven't! I do wonder, are there two versions of the archiving despatch? Maybe a 'special' version to be shown to supporters/doubters? Coz, try as I might, I can't see where it states there was NO evidence. It clearly reads to me rather there was not ENOUGH evidence, which is a completely different thing! It also states, clearly and succinctly that the McCann's FAILED TO PROVE THEIR INNOCENCE with their non-cooperation regarding reconstruction, failing to answer crucial questions etc.

Don't know what to make of it. We were led to believe that relations with the PJ were all tickedy boo, even when they most certainly were not. Perhaps it is a bit of bravado? The mccanns always like to imply that they have masses of support etc.
