Carter-Ruck tried it on again
Olive Press is a Spanish free newspaper - which campaigns on many issues.
This is a lovely put down for Carter-Ruck, who clearly told untruths in their letter forcing the withdrawal of the first article. In plain English - they LIED.

British MP who blocked public footpaths around Spanish home faces 21 charges of fraud
SEPTEMBER 6, 2011
A BRITISH MP who infamously blocked public footpaths around her home in Granada is facing 21 charges of fraud.
Margaret Moran, 56 – who sued the Olive Press after we revealed she used official House of Common’s notepaper to ward neighbours off her land, near Orgiva – could go to prison over a string of lies.
The former Labour MP – who has had a home in Andalucia since 1984 – has been ordered to appear before City of Westminster Magistrates Court on September 19.
Moran will be charged with 15 counts of false accounting and six of forging invoices to support her claims.
“These charges relate to fraudulent claims with a total value of more than 60,000 pounds (70,000 euros),” confirmed director of public prosecutions, Keir Starmer.
The maximum sentence for false accounting is seven years in prison, while forgery carries a maximum 10 year sentence.
The former Luton South MP had the audacity to wrongly sue the Olive Press and then put the 800 euro bill through as official expenses.
She hired leading libel firm Carter - Ruck to claim that she had never used official House of Commons notepaper to order neighbours off her land.

Spanish home-owning MP Margaret Moran stands down over expenses saga … and following Olive Press expose on improper use of House of Commons notepaper
EXCLUSIVE
WHEN the Olive Press broke the story that MP Margaret Moran had improperly warned neighbours off her land with official House of Commons notepaper in 2006, we quickly received legal letters from her solicitors.
Forced to retract the claim in the next edition, it came as a big surprise – and irritant – when months later a neighbour of her holiday home in Granada actually produced a copy of one such letter.
In green ink, and apparently in her handwriting, it read: “Please note – this road is private & closed. Please remove your motorcycle from our land.”
They may be feared, but possibly because they are prepared lie on behalf of their clients. I am sure they would argue that they were only acting on their "instructions".
(I once managed to use that put down in Court. " I may have the advantage here, Sir. You have received instructions from your client. I have actually interviewed him."
I got told off by the judge, but not very firmly !

Good find PeterMac. It's just as we thought.
Carter Ruck have no legal moral compass and that Labour MP Margaret Moran, is a shameless political shyster.

Well done Peter.
Just shows you the upstanding type of company the incredibly honest and truthful McCanns chose to use to silence those who disagree with them.

Just goes to show you the upstanding type of clients the most feared Carter Ruck choose to associate with to earn their living. Seems they don't learn from one fraudster to the next. And it would seem they're quite happy with their reputation of taking instructions from fraudsters and lying on their behalf.

Sorry ! They Do learn. They learn that their clients pay them, and that is all that matters to lawyers.IAmNotMerylStreep wrote:

They will act for fraudsters, murderers, rapists, pae****, anyone with the money can command their professional help.
In fact Britain has to be proud of that tradition. Without it the rule of law becomes the rule of the lynch mob and anyone with a glass eye, or a stoop, or who smells of garlic, or is swarthy, or looks "foreign", is likely to be strung up on the nearest lamp post. We see that in other parts of the world. Even now.
And I am sure everyone would agree that any person, no matter how depraved and disgusting should have his or her case put forward by someone as articulate as the prosecutor. I don't think there is an argument with that.
But Carter-Ruck and several other legal firms overstep the mark. Sir Robert Mark (Commissioner of the Met) drew attention to this in his Reith Lecture long ago when he said that there were firms of solicitors who were more dangerous to society than were their clients. The lying and bullying actively impedes justice. The cases are in fact rarely heard, because of the costs associated with failure.
And it is in that climate of intimidation that C-R can get away with what they do. In the instant case, who is going to complain about them. ? The Olive Press has made a neat headline and has avoided action, but has no money or inclination to go further. C-R are not acting for the ex-MP in her criminal case, and their actions will not be mentioned by prosecuting council since it is an aside from the actual charge of corruption.
So who ? And to whom ?
Nobody. And nobody. They get away again. They live to lie another day.

I have been wondering when we would hear about M/s Moran and her expenses and recently saw a piece in The Telegraph. This OlivePress item is good even though it won't be mentioned in the expenses case, because it's obviously available as you have made the comment and subsequently people will now see it on the net. So even if CR/Moran crawl away from it - we know.

The question is (well one of them) will the mainstream or red tops pick up on this case. If they don't then we know their agenda re Carter Ruck and McCann imo. This appears to be a slam dunk and a great story for any of the UK media.
Let's see if any of them run with it.

Re: Carter-Ruck tried it on again
They will report the expenses case, but the stuff in Spain is outside the jurisdiction of the English Court anyway. Misuse of HoC notepaper is an internal matter, and anyway she is no longer an MP. So it will never be mentioned, and C-R's despicable rôle will not be reported outside the Olive Press, the hard copies of which are currently lining parrot cages and cat litter trays along the Costa, as is the fate of all free papers during the summer.Gillyspot wrote:
