Michael Barrymore pool death: Doctor who examined Stuart Lubbock's body now under investigation

The pathologist who examined Stuart Lubbock's body after he was found dead in Michael Barrymore's Essex pool is under investigation and has been placed under conditions, it has been confirmed.
Dr Michael Heath is subject to a new investigation by the General Medical Council (GMC) and a series of stringent conditions were placed upon his licence to practise on March 10, 2021.
Stuart Lubbock was found unconscious in former TV host Michael Barrymore's swimming pool, in Roydon, Essex, in March 2001, and later died in hospital.
Dr Heath examined Mr Lubbock's body in a post mortem examination.
Dr Heath is reportedly being investigated by the GMC in relation to a post mortem conducted last year.
The GMC confirmed to Essex Live that Dr Michael Heath is currently subject to interim conditions while a full investigation is carried out.
The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service imposed this temporary measure following an interim hearing on March 10, 2021.
These hearings make independent decisions about whether restrictions are necessary to protect patients or doctors while we assess the evidence. If a referral is made for a full hearing it will usually be heard in public and full details will be published by the MPTS.
Terry Lubbock, the father of Stuart Lubbock, had said he was "concerned" that Dr Heath was still registered and that he should have been "struck off years ago," the reports say.
Previously, questions over the reliability of Dr Heath's evidence led to the convictions for two murders being quashed and an appeal granted for 'road rage killer' Kenneth Noye, which later failed, reports The Mirror.
