On 03/05/2007, then 3-year-old Madeleine (Maddie) Beth McCANN disappeared without a trace from a hotel complex in Praia da Luz, Portugal. 
In this connection, on behalf of Braunschweig Public Prosecutor's Office, the Bundeskriminalamt is conducting investigative proceedings for suspected murder against a 43-year-old German na-tional currently in detention in a different matter. 
The suspect lived more or less permanently in the Algarve between 1995 and 2007. For several years, he lived in a house between Lagos and Praia da Luz, among other places. He had several oc-casional jobs, among other things in the gastronomy business, in the Lagos area in this time period. In addition, there is information suggesting that he also earned his living by committing criminal offences, such as burglaries of hotel complexes and holiday flats as well as trafficking in narcotic drugs.

There is information suggesting that he may have used one of these vehicles to commit the offence. 
In addition, he almost certainly used the Portuguese mobile phone number + 351 912 730 680 in the time period in question. On 03/05/2007, there was a phone call with a so far unidentified per-son in the area of Praia da Luz at the material time. The conversation partner used the Portuguese phone number + 351 916 510 683. The user of this number is considered an important witness, but was not staying in the area at the time of the call.

Pretty serious it seems. There are asking the public for help to “clarify the circumstance of the offence”, sounds like they are pretty certain this man has done it (in their eyes)

We are going back to 2007, 13 years ago.  These two vehicles were bangers then, where are they likely to be now? Especially as he buys and sells and has been convicted for some time.  Not to mention that these vehicles are not in the UK and the our so called cops here, only have jurisdiction in the UK.  My guess would be that they were scrapped long ago.

Brunswick. On Thursday, the trial of a 43-year-old, who was accused of rape and robbery, began in front of the Braunschweig district court. As reported by the regional judge, the crime is said to have occurred in Portugal on September 2, 2005. The perpetrator is said to have been extremely brutal.

In the rape trial in Portugal, the last defendant living in Braunschweig denied raping the then 72-year-old American in her house in September 2005, raping her and subsequently robbing her of money and a notebook.

The accused had been suspected of testimony in another trial years after the crime. According to a DNA analyst, a body hair on the victim's bed definitely comes from the 43-year-old.

The German lived in a house about a kilometer from the scene. On his way to the beach, he regularly passed the victim's home. In front of the house he was often greeted by trusting cats, for whom he had treats. Therefore, according to him, it should be considered that his body hair could have entered the victim's house via a cat.

However, the expert had declared this unlikely in the case of body hair in court.

Like many people I have long had my own theories about this case pointing in another direction (!!), but with an open mind I have to say there is considerable circumstantial evidence here....

....a pretty sadistic convicted sex offender in the right place a the right time who engaged in some potentially suspicious activity right after the disappearance. Reading the info about his bags of wigs etc, I can speculate that he had a range of fantasies that he acted out potentially with another.

It looks to me as if the police have been missing the final pieces of evidence for some time that would enable charges to be brought and have had to go public with what they have.
