Parents Kate and Gerry McCann have never given up hope that their daughter could still be found alive, even a decade on

MADDIE McCann's mum Kate raked in £84k in book sales in the past year - with every penny poured into the search for her missing daughter.
The book, Madeleine: Our Daughter's Disappearance and the Continuing Search for Her, was written in 2011 but has continued to sell well - with proceeds going directly into the search for Maddie.

Accounts for the firm, run by Kate and husband Gerry, confirmed that £84,096 was donated out of post tax royalties from the book in the latest financial year, ending March 2017.
It comes after a fresh cash grant was approved for cops to continue their investigations this week, with it believed the amount could be as much as £150,000.
A family spokesperson recently revealed that the couple were "incredibly grateful".
Spokesman Clarence Mitchell said: "They are very encouraged that the Met Police still believe there is work left to be done and they are incredibly grateful to the Home Office for providing an extra budget for the investigation."

Madeleine vanished on May 3, 2007, when her family, from Leicestershire, were holidaying in the Algarve, Portugal.
Parents Gerry and Kate left their three children – including toddler twins Sean and Amelie – sleeping in their apartment while they dined at a tapas bar - 120 metres away.
When Kate returned to check on the kids at around 10pm that evening, she discovered that Maddie was not in her bed and was missing.
No arrests have ever been made, with dozens of sightings of the young girl since she vanished.

So far the investigation into her disappearance, launched in May 2011, has cost the taxpayer more than £11.2million.
The inquiry, headed by Detective Chief Inspector Nicola wall, still has “important work to do and focused lines of investigation to be pursued.”
Kate and Gerry have never given up hope that their daughter could still be found alive. She would now be aged 14, nearly 15, with her birthday on May 12.

How so - the bewk's been out of print for years. If you follow Amazon, the leading online bookseller, madeleine by KATE MCCANN was up for grabs in hardback format when first published back in May 2011, coincidentally the same time that Operation Grange was launched. It was later published in paperback, to mark the anniversary of Madeleine's 'disappearance' and then later still a kindle version.

On Amazon alone, sales gradually dwindled until the hard copy bewks were 'hurry while stocks last, only three left on the shelves' (this figure fluctuated between three and fifteen, or thereabouts), that's how it remained for many a month. Now a vestige of the once bestseller is available for purchase through an online 'source' marketed by Amazon. These copies will be jumble sale rejects or left-overs from the bookshelves that didn't sell in it's hayday.

Unless of course it's been re-kindled big grin

for the forthcoming 11th anniversary - or Ms Healy is busily writing a sequel, 'My Years Without madeleine' - or a source close to the family has been flogging copies on ebay at a highly inflated price - limited edition.

£80,000+ quid in bewk sales? Pull the other one - do these back-office journalists ever check their facts?
