Madeleine McCann: Police hunt waitress believed to be mysterious 'woman in purple'
THE “woman in purple” being sought by Scotland Yard detectives in Bulgaria in connection with the Madeleine McCann case worked with her husband at the Ocean Club resort on the Algarve in Portugal.

Waitress Luisa Todorov, 58, is believed to be the mystery woman seen by two witnesses standing outside apartment 5a of the Ocean Club from where Madeleine was taken 10 years ago.
She has become the focus of Yard inquiries for months as officers want to know if she saw anything suspicious on the night of Madeleine’s abduction from Praia da Luz when she was aged just three.
One witness saw her standing by a lamp post just outside the apartment at 8pm on May 3, 2007 and another saw her about half an hour later nearby.
Luisa’s husband Stefan Todorov, 50, was working at the Tapas bar, where the McCanns and their seven holiday friends were dining when Madeleine was abducted.
Detectives working on the £12million Operation Grange inquiry have spent months trying to track down the couple, who are being treated as significant potential witnesses.
Spanish criminologist Heriberto Janosch Gonzalez, who has investigated the case for 10 years, said: “I have been combing through all the police files trying to identify who the woman in purple could be.
“It has been widely reported that Yard officers are in Bulgaria.
“Examining all the known statements it seems highly likely the police are seeking the Todorovs as they are the only known people with a clear link to Bulgaria.
“I have been unable to trace them in Portugal and believe they could have moved away.
“It is widely known that many workers at the Ocean Club were made redundant so it is possible they went to Bulgaria seeking work.”
The couple gave statements to Portuguese police five days after the kidnapping as part of routine Portuguese inquiries.
Luisa’s statement said she worked day shifts at the Millennium restaurant, where the McCann family had gone on the first evening of their holiday with their friends.
Scotland Yard said they could not give a running commentary on investigations carried out by officers working on Operation Grange.
In August 2007 a British woman reported seeing a child who looked mile Madeleine at Varna airport in Bulgaria, but the information was very sketchy and did not check out.

Witness Statement Luisa Maria Camara Todorov Date: 2007/05/08 Occupation: Waitress Place of Work: OC Millenium Restaurant. She works as a waitress in the Millenium Restaurant at the OC, commonly known as the "Club". She says that this place is about 500 metres away from the apartment block where the events occurred. She works from 10.00 to 18.00 except for Sundays and Mondays, her functions include washing up, tidying up and other kitchen duties. Most of the clients who frequent the restaurant are foreigners, especially British guests who stay at the OC: When questioned she says that she does not have a clear image of the girl's parents, only having briefly caught sight of them inside the restaurant. She did not see any suspicious behaviour on the part of anyone that would indicate that a criminal act was being prepared. She heard about the events on the night in question, when her husband - who works in the same restaurant as the witness – told her that he had heard that a small girl had disappeared from the resort. On the following day in the restaurant, she was informed by colleagues about the events as well as from television news, which confirmed that it was the girl whom she had seen in the restaurant. She has nothing to say about the disappearance. Reads, ratifies, signs. |

A source close to Operation Grange, (lol) said, "After we tried to fit up 'not long for this world' Raymond Hewlett and thereafter Euclides 'Death by Tractor' Monteiro we have decided to give Jane 'Synonymous with a woman wearing purple 24/7' Tanner payback for inventing Bundleman by focussing on PURPLE Woman. Who also appears to be wobbly. We thought that might shake her and she'd finally tell us the truth. Except this 'witness' is Bulgarian. Damn! We've not really thought this through, have we?"

Funny this article doesn't mention that the witness who claimed to see the woman is the third suspects mother, Jenny Murat.

Re: Police hunt waitress believed to be mysterious 'woman in purple'
The article doesn't say she is Bulgarian. The article says SY are in Bulgaria because this woman has "a clear link to Bulgaria".
Nothing about her being Bulgarian. Or have I missed something?
If not, then McFadden needs to stick to colluding with her mate Brian Kennedy. Now that is a mystery!

Re: Police hunt waitress believed to be mysterious 'woman in purple'
The original (re-hashed) Mail article from 3rd November stated:
‘The suspect is believed to be Bulgarian and was living in Praia da Luz with her partner, a man of German or Eastern European descent (now believed to be dead) at the time of Madeleine’s disappearance. It is thought that police interest is linked to discoveries about her late partner’s history.
In the past few months, the Grange team — now down to four detectives from a peak of 31 — has been criss-crossing Europe trying to locate the woman.’

Re: Police hunt waitress believed to be mysterious 'woman in purple'
The Mail are accepting comments but none of mine have been allowed. I only mentioned the files and that there is a woman in purple and she was not from Bulgaria.
I also tried commenting that the wasting of funds on this is deliberate so the public will call for it to be shut down. That's not allowed by the DM..... They are more than happy to allow 100s of comments that are calling for an end to the invesigation..... things that make you go hmmmmm!
"This has got be the most expensive investigation in history for a missing person.Time to get these officers detecting crimes they can solve.I thought we had a shortage of Detectives.

Do they think she'll still be wearing purple? Such a waste of money.

To make an international laughing stock of the UK police force for years on end, whatever is really going on here can only be huge and ugly.

Re: Police hunt waitress believed to be mysterious 'woman in purple'
Hold up a minute - this Daily Mail article is a joke! Snipped..
Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have gone to Bulgaria in search of the 'woman in purple' - a figure who is keeping the operation alive.
Gone to Bulgaria in search of a 'woman in purple' ??? How exactly does that work..
Correct me if I'm wrong, isn't it normal policing to notify the police of the country concerned and let them do the job?

Isn't that the same person who initiated the 'The Great Luz Challenge' better known as 'The Sick [sic] Maddie McCann Tour'?
Whatever, I think this latest news report (well, let's say the latest version) is just more UK media tripe. They seem to be running out of originality.

If you want to see something completely bonkers take a look at the image below where Shining in Luz discusses and agonizes over the difficulties of digging in his own garden in Portugal (raise my eyes to the heavens emoji) but is careful to show the partial success of digging for an irrigation system. Note the sign of the cross and the pink shovel. I have no words.

Re: Police hunt waitress believed to be mysterious 'woman in purple'
Is it not also one and the same Olca Craig - ex-member of CMoMM?
I recall long ago suggesting that Olca Craig might be Olga Craig, a journalist who was actively reporting on the case of Madeleine McCann for the Telegraph back in 2007.
CMoMM member Olca Craig denied all knowledge, I have no way of proving otherwise but the name is rather a coincidence.
Still, I guess coincidences do happen, particularly as regards to the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Sorry to say, Olca 'shininginluz' Craig appears to be a trifle off-balance - if you get me drift . Such extraordinary theories, comparable to the likes of Textusa and one or two others I can think of.
