Did Robert Murat ever meet Clement Freud? The Sun and Daily Mail have both now apologised to Murat for making a false claim (Portugal News, 15 Dec 2016)

Robert Murat is a lucky man to get all these apologies. On top of the 600 grand netted from a High Court settlement in 2008.
After Jane Tanner identified him as the abductor after receiving 'advice' from two senior members of Control Risks Group and Detective Chief Superintendent Bob Small in the afternoon of Sunday 13 May 2007, Murat was pulled in for questioning the day after.
During his initial interview under caution, he made at least 17 false statements to the police about his movements on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 1 to 3 May. When he was forced to change his statements two months later Portuguese police analysed his mobile 'phone records, he claimd he had been 'too tired' to tell the truth when questioned on 14 May. He was being questioned about a missing three-year-old girl! - yet 'too tired to tell the truth' .
It seems Murat was unhappy at reports in the Sun and Daily Mail in June that he had met serial paedophile, the late Sir Clement Freud.

My memory seems to be that Robert Murat had already been chosen by the British press as the guilty party, he was on every front page, so it would be no surprise if he was 'too tired to tell the truth'.
Whether he was involved in the conspiracy or not, he seemed to have some inkling of what was happening judging by his "biggest ****-up" remark, it must have been a massive shock when he found himself thrown under the bus.

I wonder why he didn't sue them - a few thousand more in the bank is preferable to a measly apology isn't it? Besides, the report about Freud/Murat was run six months ago, how long does it take to print a few words of apology - why now?
If I remember correctly, way back in 2008, he also received an undisclosed figure from Sky News following the Lori Campbell (Sunday Mirror journalist) interview and by all accounts, he accepted an invitation to speak at the Cambridge Union Society about the nefarious influence of the tabloids. The"Sun"tried to undermine the Portugal PJ investigations by using a"Voluptuous Blonde" trying to"Hack"into Mr Paul Ruies computer,then they were trying to Blackmail him to stop the investigation into Madeleine McCann,yet their sister paper had a"One Million pound reward"for the Safe return of Madeleine McCann,now as yourself,what did they know of Madeleine McCann's status?
Why haven't these "News Papers"asked about the discrepancies highlighted of the mis-identification of Mr Murat by Jane Tanner,Bob Small and the Control Risk Group involvement of what was their real reason to "Help"this family during there predicament of a"Missing Madeleine"?

Murat seems to be non-stick in all of the investigative avenues.
There was the incident of the two sisters who saw him near the apartment on the fateful night. They invited him in for coffee. He said he was a 'bit sweaty' ( standing around doing nothing at 9 pm on a cooling night) and had to change his clothes first ( nothing more anti social than sweaty DNA ) . He'd already been seen during the afternoon in different clothes....
Murat and Gerry McCann had denied knowing each other. Gerry McCann says as much to a reporter. But, apparently, they'd been busy on their phones to each other most of the day prior to the incident.I think that's covered in Richard Hall's film .
Murat was 'on nodding terms' with Clement Freud. But I think that was admitted prior to the latter's death, then exposure as a paedophile in times past .
Murat's 'too tired to tell the truth ' would never be accepted in any other serious enquiry like this. An innocent man being questioned about a potentially serious crime like abduction of a child or murder would be hyped up due to panic and the adrenaline pumping. A guilty man, on a deeper level is often calm and / or tired as that rush is over once he's arrested or questioned. Any other explanation is basically that he can't think of a better lie so this lie would do. The lie is chosen because the truth would be damaging to the liar..
What of the Murat 'girlfriend' ? She looked remarkably like the e-fit of the long -haired man(?) carrying a child in the fashion of a B-movie zombie. Her alibi was proven to be a lie by the church she claimed to be at that night ( between 9 and 10 pm, conveniently) but she wasn't pressed on why she lied.Neither was Murat .
It's difficult to tell when Murdoch's rags click into threatening mode who is being protected. His daughter,Elisabeth, after being married to an exec Rothschild banker, divorced and then married Matthew Freud, son of Clement Freud.Matthew's earlier marriage had ended in divorce and his ex-wife went on to marry Earl Spencer. We're talking 'high places' here when you look at it.
Is it any wonder so many secret brotherhoods and blood oaths exist among these creatures...

This is as much an apology to friends and family of the now deceased Sir Clement Freud as it is to Murat . They were wrong to stoop low to sell papers and they were right to apologise.It says more about the practices of the papers though rather than the two 'accused'. They weren't drinking buddies after all so Murat can rebuild his life . And the Freuds and inter- married Murdochs can enjoy the holidays with less tension . Everyone's happy .

I saw on a video via you tube today UNEARTHED! Madeline McCanns Final Resting Place REVEALED & How She Got There they were basically demanding that this man Murat should dig up his mothers patio to prove that there is no body hidden there as they are claiming murat is in on all this and he has the body buried and not to let it be known until the twins have grown up or something like that
