The 3 Arguidos Forum - PART RESTORED up to 30 May 2008

There has been, for those who are interested, a part restoration of the old 3 Arguidos forum, here:

It purports to be a complete restoration of the forum up to and including 30 May 2008 - some time before I joined it in late 2008.

But it is just 'read-only'.

I tried to log in, successfully, and was able to use the 'Search' facility.

I must admit to a slight shudder as names like 'Laffin Asassin', 'Tripz' and of course 'Brenda Ryan' flashed before my eyes.

There was such optimism in May 2008 that this case would soon be solved! 


Historical note

The 3As closed in late August 2009. No clear explanation for its closure was ever given, but fears of a possible libel suit was one reason given. It followed considerable publicity and controversy about the distribution of the '10 Reasons' leaflet - which had been produced by an informal committee on the 3As fourm.

Soon after, Joana Morais and Portuguese friends began 'Maddie Case Files'.

CMOMM, though it wasn't called that in the beginnining, was founded on 25 November 2009

Whilst there was some good posters there, there was also some wacko stuff.

Maybe for up and coming finger pointing at nutters?

Up to 30th May 2008... why?

I think it was announced that the McCanns and friends had refused to go back to Portugal for a reconstruction on the 28th May.

That was a day that generated a lot of public reaction against them.

I'm still suspicious about this.

An awful lot of webpages you think are long gone have been archived somewhere online...if you know where to look.

I'm guessing it has been resurrected from there, although it is the first time I have seen the 3A site, being a rather late-coming McCanner. Great name though. But who is the third arguido? It is Cuddle Cat?

I am suspicious too.   The site was hacked before it was closed down.    Posts could easily have been altered.

I used to laugh at LA's posts and I think that BR could well have been threatened with some sort of legal action.  Such a complete turn around.   I remember before the site was closed there were some very nasty online comments made about her family (IIRC) - must have been under a lot of pressure.   I don't really know what happened but adding it all together that's what I think, but we will never know.

 Also Bierwoulf (?) had had enough of the name calling, some nasty things about him too as far as I remember.

I'm pretty sure 3As was CR-ed and that is why there was such a dramatic about face.

And you are right... it was hacked (from within I think) and all the member details went somewhere else.

When was it hacked?

For it to surface now during the current PR "haters" blitz is making me wonder.

Thanks Tony for finding the 3 Arguidos. I've enjoyed looking at some of the posts.

I also think Brenda / family was threatened and had to admit to a change of heart re the McCanns. What a hard pill to swallow! I don't think she really changed her views on the McCanns.

The story about the site being hacked was at the time Beowolf was leaving and I don't think he was involved. There were no complaints re posts being altered that I saw but it is quite possible that the site could have been hacked.

It was either the Mirror or 3A that doobyscoo or scoobydoo did the amusing posts. I have saved quite a few of them.

Fantastic looking back. Some very important info there.
I wonder if the 'fridge' reference and discussion will be able to be re-found.
Just seeing the Church version of the last photo by the pool shows just how early on the questions were flowing.
It has taken us an age in recent times, trying to go back through videos etc. to capture that Church /pool photo that many of us had memory of.

@BlueBag - have to say I agree with your last post.   The site was hacked, so for me, not to be trusted.

I certainly posted at the time that my post had been altered, (swearing added) and at the time a poster, I think it may have been someone called Dutchgirl but not too sure also posted to say that their account had been used and it certainly was not a post they had made.

Just keep in mind, from what I know...there was some 'happenings' at one point but there appeared to be nothing sinister about the ultimate demise, except beowulf chose (for reasons known to him) to not keep it online.

If I am not wrong poster Hicks posted the 3A link on a fresh thread prior to TB.  
That link opens for me without problem.
