'unreliable dogs'
I have posted this before, but I think it bears repetition:
sorry to say this but it seems the dogs ARE unreliable. If they were alerting to 'rotting meat, nappies and sweaty flip flops', then they should also have alerted to-
sweaty running shoes in 5a
sweaty sandals
sweaty palms
sweaty armpits
sweaty sports gear
sweaty sports bag(oops maybe not)
sweaty anything anywhere
dirty nappies in the bin
dirty nappies on bums
the wc in 5a
every seat in 5a
every car seat
every seat in every apartment
anyone's bottom in the vicinity
the kitchen bin
the Tapas bin
every bin everywhere
SEE! If they alerted to 'sweaty flip flops, nappies and rotting meat',those dogs should have had sense overload the moment they were let out of the handler's vehicle. They should have been barking, marking and pointing like a dog training video on fast forward. And they didn't. So they must be er,as someone once said 'incredibly unreliable'?
IMO

ShareFacebookTwitter.Caroline Graham murder: New PSNI search in Portadown Caroline Graham went missing from her home in Portadown in 1989
Specially trained victim recovery dogs which can identify traces of human remains are being used in a new search for a missing teenager.
Caroline Graham was 19 and living with her boyfriend at Hanover Street, in Portadown, County Armagh, when she disappeared in March 1989.
A murder inquiry was launched in August 2012 after police said they had a number of new lines of inquiry.
Monday's search has been taking place at the house in Hanover Street.
The search is being conducted with the consent of the current owner who, police believe, has no knowledge of the events of 1989

We are now at a point where it is appropriate to once again begin a planned search operation, primarily to locate Caroline's remains, but also as an important part of the overall investigation into her murder”

Ch Insp Peter Montgomery
Officers have carried out a number of searches in the Portadown area over the years, but Caroline's body has not been found.
The officer leading the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Peter Montgomery, said: "It is more than 25 years since Caroline was last seen and almost two years since the most recent phase of investigative activity resumed.
"Despite all the hurdles posed by the passage of time, I still believe that a form of closure is possible for Caroline and her family.
"Our appeals for information have been productive. In general, people have been very helpful.
"We are now at a point where it is appropriate to once again begin a planned search operation, primarily to locate Caroline's remains, but also as an important part of the overall investigation into her murder."
He said Caroline had been for a night out in Banbridge with a girlfriend and had stayed part of the night in a hostel in Portadown, but was gone in the morning.
Buried in Portadown
Ch Insp Montgomery said police have information that she returned to Hanover Street to get some clothes. She has not been seen since.
"I believe she was murdered some time later and that her remains are somewhere in Portadown," he said.
"All our enquiries lead us to believe there is more than one person who knows exactly where Caroline is buried.
"We need them to come forward and tell us exactly what they know.
"Whoever is responsible for Caroline's murder may have spoken to people and they may know exactly what has happened to Caroline."
The detective added that two men, possibly off-duty soldiers, who gave Caroline a lift in a black Ford XR3i on the night before she disappeared had yet to come forward.
He said the men are not being treated as suspects, but need to come forward.

I wonder if:
Detective Chief Inspector Peter Montgomery, sought out the opinion of the world's greatest EVRD dog 'expert' Gerry M, before deploying the notoriously UNRELIABLE, SPECIALLY TRAINED victim recovery dogs, which can identify traces of human remains, in this latest 'search' for the missing woman.
TWENTY FIVE YEARS after she went missing.

Caroline Graham: Specialists called AFTER search by dogs
Specially trained victim recovery dogs have been brought in to help in the search for Caroline Graham
Police searching for the body of a murdered teenager have called specialist forensic scientists to a house in County Armagh.
Officers have been using dogs trained to find human remains in the search for Caroline Graham, 19.
She had been living in Hanover Street, Portadown, when she vanished in 1989.
A fresh search of the house began on Monday and as a result of "indications" by the dogs, scientists have been asked to examine some items in the property.
It is understood that the items are not body parts.
A police spokesman said the house search was continuing on Tuesday and is expected to run into a third day.

Here is one with Cuddle
Serious answer ?
DEFENCE SOLICITORS.
The investigative and prosecution authorities cannot leave a single stone unturned, nor dogs foot unshod.\
Hence the "ludicrous" suits forensic officers have to don, simply to to pick up a camera (canon ) lying on a table with an incriminating photo . . .
Or to try to get prints or marks off a shutter which has clearly in the sight of the entire world NOT been "jimmied' or smashed
They do it so that no one, not even Carter-Ruck, can allege it was not done properly.
Re: CADAVER DOGS
Ah of course! In hindsight I thought maybe it was so the didn't get splinters lol. My parents dog sometimes gets a sore paw and they pt a funny balloon sock on to stop him biting. Fashion makes sense too though. Do you think red paws is Keela and black paws Eddie...

If the Mccann,s say the evidence of the dogs is unreliable and dismiss it why did K ate Mccann need to explain her ridiculous coming into contact with 6 dead bodies, has any proof of that 6 bodies been examined/dismissed ?

Strange, I just had the same thought. If they mistook fish/nappies/rotten meat in the car, with cadaverine, fred c dobbs wrote:If the Mccann,s say the evidence of the dogs is unreliable and dismiss it why did K ate Mccann need to explain her ridiculous coming into contact with 6 dead bodies, has any proof of that 6 bodies been examined/dismissed
but alerted to the same smell on her clothes, and Kate admits she was in contact with corpses, which would explain the cadaverine scent, then surely that would mean they were reliable after all?

Re: CADAVER DOGS
I don't remember the exact timing of events back then, but why wasn't Kate quizzed extensively by the police about the cadaver odour?
I used to work as a hospital lab technician and I had a fair amount of dealing with the morgue staff. I cannot understand how a GP can come into contact with so many deceased patients. The only way this could happen IMO is when you are a GP attached to a nursing home, but as far as I know Kate wasn't in this situation.
In any case it should have been very easy to find records proving or disproving that she had been in contact with 6 deceased patients. Also who takes their child's favourite soft toy to work? And what exactly did she do with it, rub it over dead bodies? What an unpleasant mental image. How did she get away with this nonsense

Re: CADAVER DOGS
They seem to have superb hygiene habits for a medical couple.....sharing of toothbrushes etc. Would you take your work clothes on holiday? I presume she did wear them at work if she came into contact with said 6 bodies. WHY,why, why aren't they interrogated more on this? As said before it must be really easy to check up on!

Does anyone know what Mark Harrison's theory was? There's a link in a sticky thread, but when I click on it, it says it's no longer available.
