DC was certainly part of "Team Rebekka" so I'm sure that was helpful. Sadly he's also part of "Team McCann" which is potentially a major stumbling block for Madeleine.

Verdicts still awaited tomorrow on 2 other charges for Andy Coulson and 2 (I think) for Clive Goodman.

Whatever you may think about other decisions the conviction of Coulson is going to be a VERY serious blow to Cameron.
A simple "apology" to Parliament is not going to be enough.
His entire professional judgement and his ability to select proper advisors and confidants is in question.

And for conspiracy theorists, who believe that government is able to influence evern the judiciary and due process . . .
Why would they find RB NOT guilty but find Coulson Guilty

RM stated his only concern was RB, a definite shot across the bows and so Andy Coulson is the sacrificial lamb

Could it just be that RB, CB & CC have been handed a not guilty verdict merely because they have been given the benefit of any doubt?
 
Interesting that RB and CB are pals and neighbours with DC, and going by the force of expression behind DC`s promise to apologise if AC was found guilty - I reckon it was decided long ago AC would be the fall guy because he dared to deceive the PM.

So am I still allowed to ask what all the 'Danny Boy', 'pizza deliveries' and placing black bin bags in car parks was all about ? Am I?

They say Tony Blair knew the war on Iraq was illegal and he knew they hd no weapons of mass dedtruction.



No doubt Cameron will have a few negAtive headlines and will quit after he loses power at the next general election.


Ultimately Blairs mistakes nver harmed him and nor will Camerons.

There are people who have got away with decades of child abuse because of who they know. Phone hacking is trivial in comparison to their crimes but some people are above the law in this country. How justice is served is dependent on background, influence and wealth, it's no wonder the public have lost faith.  

eta. Libel lawyers seem to have more power than the criminal courts these days but they are only for wealthy criminals.

Andy Coulson has been found guilty of phone hacking.

I think this is very interesting, and it is only my opinion.

1. The 'lesser mortal' is the 'fall guy', Andy Coulson is not the main player here, he hasn't got crinkly red hair.

2. The McCs are the 'lesser mortals' in the bigger game, which they risked exposing with their 'blundering biggest co**up in history'.
The bigger game, was /is IMO being played out in the environs of PdL, and covered up by 'unknown high level elites', who are the main players, and who had the damage limitation guys sent in on 4th May 2007, in profusion, to quell the storm.

3. How could Rebekkah ever be found guilty of 'spying on people' when her bestest friends, Dave of Cameroon and his chosen government, reign supreme over the iniquities of ICU.HQ, spying on every single person making every single communication with whomsoever, including of course this current posting, on an electronic /internet intercepted forum.

How can she, a private individual and member of the public, be guilty of spying, on other private individuals and members of the public, by intercepting their electronic communications, when those at ICU.HQ, at their desks, paid for by 'govt funds' and with a large part of the work co-opted out to private enterprises, which is made up of private individuals and ordinary members of the public, are doing just the same thing.

The latter do it, ignoring all public rage, disbelief and dissent, and continue to fix the laws to continue to do what in any one's terms would be considered 'spying'.

I'm sure her defense would have been, had she needed to resort it, to quote, if it's OK for ICU.HQ, then it's OK for Rebekkah or her private individuals/ members of the public /employees.

I reckon the jury got to a unanimous verdict merely by giving them the benefit of the doubt.

What a perverse verdict!

If Andy Coulson is guilty of conspiring to hack phones, who was he doing it with? At least one other defendant has to be found guilty  - you can't conspire with yourself. Unless, of course, they found that he had conspired with Glenn Mulcare (not on trial here).

Also, are we really expected to believe that this was going on at a newspaper and that the person in absolute control of the paper had no idea what was going on? Where did they think the stories were coming from?

I really can't see the logic of the verdicts so far.
