A Redwood, seeking closure, which means finding out what happened to Madeleine!
Gerry saying police have taken pressure off them. Alan Johnson sympathetic and they are not guilty but victims. PJ disgraceful. Didnt do a proper investigation. Review team sifting the files. A Redwood sifting info from three sources, pj, lp, pis and bring together all those pieces of the jigsaw. Met team identified 195 fresh leads in their review. How much can be achieved though taking into account mistakes in the investigation. All couples left kids unattended but checked regularlt. Kate checked at 10 and found Madeleine gone. One of her friends said she saw a man with a child. Bilton, still full of questions. Case full of mistakes, maddie thought to have wandered off so scene wasnt sealed off. AG and Amaral admit things were got wrong. Five years on easy to reassess investigation with the opening of fikes and some prepared to talk. Murat is focus. Worked as translator, spotlight turned on him 11 days in. Murat believes he was easy scapegoat as PJ under pressure. They didnt care for the truth. I am giving up now, its easy to see where this is going. Slam the PJ. Dos brought in inconclusive evidence, they were made suspects after this. Tavares report quoted. Mccanns involved and five years on many in the police believe this. Someone take over.

Re: ***LIVE*** Discussion and comments thread BBC Panorama tonight 25th April 7.30pm
It's shocking that Alan Johnson can say that the McCanns did not get a proper police investigation. He failed to mention the cooperation between the PJ and the British Police from the beginning, the Police also giving up their holidays to work on the investigation, and one British officer (can't remember his name) saying that Gerry McCann should be looked at more closely, or words to that effect. Johnson also failed to mention the 48 questions K McCann refused to answer.
Why is it always so one side in favour of the McCanns, why doesn't anybody ever query these inaccuracies on these programmes?
Robert Murat now saying he felt that Amaral didn't seem interested in getting to the truth, grrrrrrrrrrrr!
I feel like throwing something at the TV but can't afford to buy a new one!

Alan Johnson now saying that it's about time the McCanns got co-operation from the Portugese Police and for them to get to the bottom of the investigation.
WHAT?? WHAT ABOUT THE MCCANNS CO-OPERATING WITH THE INVESTIGATION MR JOHNSON???
Mr Johnson why didn't you mention that the McCanns didn't ask for the RE-OPENING OF THE CASE YEARS AGO, IT WOULD ONLY HAVE COST THEM THE PRICE OF A STAMP, ACCORDING TO MR AMARAL. You stupid, thick MP.

mccanns and news international put pressure on cameron, maddie was special case, and gave funds for review, a redwood, huge privilege to work on the case, bulton are we nearer? redwood satisfied has best opportunity to solve mustery, anything is possible, redwood hopes to make a difference and bring closure to family, mccann lawyer duarte convinced leads were ignored, had enough now, sandra felgueiras saying its an old story, carlos anjos says chief of police would not reopen investigation, review taking place in portugal, to find out what happened, bilton says pj havebeen reviewing case discreetly for the last year, a redwood said reviewers are engaged, open and collaboratibing with them, what next asks bilton?
Bikton asks redwood wouldnt pj be offenended at his review, he gave no comment but said its up to the PJ to reopen but he hopes he and his team can bring best help and info to them for this. End. Whole programme was about how PJ had failed and SY migt give them a big clue?Sorry for all the spellos and typing fast so couldnt pay attention to grammar and punctuation.

The whole thing was designed to slag off the Portuguese police, and to pretend only the Portuguese believed the parents were respeonsible for Madeleine's disappearance.
I cannot believe that Bilton, the hopeless patsy, said "Dogs found DNA in the apartment...." wilfully refusing to use the words "scent of a dead body."
The whole thing was so incredibly crass and clumsy.
Who is behind it?

So
No 48 questions
No cadaver dogs
No conflicting statements
No dodgy text deletions
No dodgy fund 13% only of which spent on the search
No suing frenzy
What a waste of time then. Pooh.

God, the way Murat talked about the PJ. He was a suspect in the disappearance of a child for god's sake, what did he expect, tea and scones. The British police would be the same, and interogate for hours. Making a fuss of having a mug shot, Doh

Mention of the dogs finding DNA but later proved inconclusive. What about the other dog then Panorama, the cadaver dog, which smelt the scent of death??

Re: ***LIVE*** Discussion and comments thread BBC Panorama tonight 25th April 7.30pm
Without doubt the most shamelful dire peice of shite journalism ive ever seen, ever.
Its starts with Amaral segment saying "i made mistake"
then Robert Murat saying to the effect of Amaral is a bully! who wanted case solved quick!
They made out Murat was made suspect my GA not that the reporter and mccanns friends pointed finger in first place!
They rubbish dogs claims, saying dogs detected DNA!!!! no mention of the indication of Death and blood!!
It was completely Bias with segments of Redwood cut and edited to suit the responses to questions they asked! disgusting! reall really sloppy, bad journalism ! who is this reporter on the show! he looks like shit! tried to show him `researching` on a PC like "hey man im a proper investigative Journalist". What a complete Joke of a reporter!.
At least they stated the fact that the PJ are NOT changing there opinion on the case!, not mention of why that might be! just basically trying to make fun of the PJ!
I dont think this shockingly bad programme will go down well with the Portuguese Police at all!! I hope the new Porto team get chance to watch it! so, so bad its almost laughable!

Yes, the highlight of the programme was 'Dogs found DNA'.juliet wrote:The whole thing was designed to slag off the Portuguese police, and to pretend only the Portuguese believed the parents were respeonsible for Madeleine's disappearance.

Now I am so furious I'm going to watch Real Madrid v Bayern Munich and try to forget about the programme.

Re: ***LIVE*** Discussion and comments thread BBC Panorama tonight 25th April 7.30pm
Bilton missed out the most important facts about the dogs- that they were
blood and cadaver dogs and alerted to both blood and cadaver. Instead,
he says they reacted to DNA. It was at the point I concluded he was
up to no good with this programme. I was willing to give him the benefit
of doubt but it ended with his comment about the dogs.
Very poor showing!

Re: ***LIVE*** Discussion and comments thread BBC Panorama tonight 25th April 7.30pm
As we're getting so many hits. Would it be a good idea to run a topic with just a few selected quotes from the book of Amaral?
Might alert people to the fact that it's now available? In English I mean. Or is that not yet the case.
I'm not too disappointed, because re applying the glue to this Pandora's box is clearly a necessary exercise. So what's in the box, Drs. M?
The effort expended to keep a lid on it must be proportional to the disaster if it does come out.
And it isn't anything to do with the McCanns, we already know all about them.

Re: ***LIVE*** Discussion and comments thread BBC Panorama tonight 25th April 7.30pm
Alan Johnson started off by telling the grinning fool Bilton that the PJ investigation had been "dsigraceful".
So the stage was set for Redwood, Murat, Gomes, Duarte, even the so-called McCann doubter Sandra Fegueleres to make it seem as if the Portuguese police were all useless and/or corrupt and the Portuguese people had been sadly misled into believing in the guilt of the innocent-as-milk McCanns.
The dogs smelling cadaver odour was slimed over by Bilton: "the dogs found DNA in the flat and the car....next thing the parents were suspects."
Redwood was not at all impressive...another grinning fool who added absolutely nothing to the programme.

Yep! hopefully this will be seen by the PJ and there resolve will be stronger than ever!. They should re-open case and say! ok ! we say you did it! mccanns and issue Euro arrest warrant, that would be justice

The Facts??????
Have just calmed myself down having shouted at the TV for last half hour, wasn't expecting it tonight, thought it was next Monday.
The bit that made me really cross was when he said "let's look at the FACTS" and then launched into a list of clearly Mccann approved rubbish....the children were left alone, the shutters were forced, the children were checked on regularly Blah blah blah
Was a little more open than I expected and they even used the word "mystery" on several occasions (quick, someone sue them!!!)
Generally though I felt it was biased, but thought the age advanced photo was at least vaguely believable for a change.
Hope it at least makes a few believers consider the other side of the story......................

I was suprised at that too seeing as it was the British media that dobbed him and his own friends alledgedly and later three of the tapas group. But then again BBC can edit and use as they like, cant they? I have never ever heard him slagging odf the PJ before.
