2ND HOAX ON MF BY MCCANN-SUPPORTERS
Once again we have to respond to a second hoax press release, which purports to have been issued by us.
We can categorically state that this hoax press release has not been released by The Madeleine Foundation, nor by any of our members and supporters. The person who placed this hoax press release on Free-Press-Release is a professed and prolific supporter of Dr Gerald and Dr Kate McCann who has for the past two years run a particularly nasty internet campaign involving serial lies and impersonations about ourselves and about some of our Committee members.
It is a pitiful attempt by one of the McCanns' vociferous supporters to try persuade the public to believe that we are carrying out or intending to carry out certain actions.
In the light of the contents of this latest hoax press release, which we reproduce below together with the link, we are compelled to state the following unequivocally on the record:
* We do not and have never said that either of the McCanns killed Madeleine
* One of us in the past (November 2007) did attempt to issue a summons for child neglect against the McCanns. This was unsuccessful -as the court was unsure whether it had jurisdiction, since the alleged neglect occurred in Portugal. We have no plans at all to renew such an attempt
* We do not in any way whatsoever believe that the McCanns should be prosecuted for manslaughter
* We do not urge, nor have we ever urged, Leicestershire Social Serivices to remove the McCanns' other children from their care.
The only thing that is of any value in this hoax press release is that it gives links to our website ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) and to an excellent discussion forum on Madeleine McCann ([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) where there is much valuable source information and analysis about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
The people who perpetrate these hoaxes, which consist of outright lies about the work of The Madeleine Foundation, vigorously back and support the McCanns and, as is crystal clear from the McCanns' own Facebook pages, the McCanns class such people as their 'friends' (direct quote from Dr Kate McCann).
We beloeve we know the person responsible for this latest hoax press release and the previous one issued three days ago.
Our final comment is that those who tell outright lies and perpetrate hoaxes such as this will for certain find out, sooner or later, that such action will rebound on them.
That these hoaxes are made at all is a tribute (though not one which we wlecome) to the ongoing work of The Madeleine Foundation in continuing to ask questions about the McCanns' claim (which they admit is only an 'assumption' or 'hypothesis') that Madeleine McCann was abducted.

THE HOAX PRESS RELEASE
Members of the Madeleine Foundation are attempting to persuade courts to act against the McCanns and make their children subject to Social Services intervention
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
([You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) March 2, 2011 --
We, at The Madeleine Foundation seek to persuade the courts that Kate and Gerry McCann, the parents of missing, believed killed, Madeleine McCann should be prosecuted for neglect and manslaughter of Madeleine McCann.
Also we urge the Leicestershire Social Services to remove the remaining children from the McCann's household to secure their safety until a time when it is clear if the McCann's were, or were not involved in Madeleine McCann's death.

Sorry to hear about this Tony, they clearly must be very disturbed
to do something like that. As we said before though all they are
doing is giving more publicity to the MF and the important work
it is doing.

This is an act of desperation, but misjudged and mistimed.
Paradoxically, it might even cause some people to reflect on the undoubted child negligence aspects of the case.

should be prosecuted for neglect and manslaughter of Madeleine McCann.
Rainbow, Harrison and Amaral wanted to prosecute the McCanns for far more serious crimes than the above. So by comparison, The Madeleine Foundation would look like a bunch of pussycats had any of them had the time or inclination to write this press release.
Do the people who write these ridiculous things believe they are so far above the law that they cannot be prosecuted? If so, one can easily think of another doxen people with whom they would feel at home..

Good point, Petermac. One was also contemplating as to whether one of the personalities within this person may now be a closet supporter of Madeleine McCann, yet still have a personal hatred of Tony Bennett, which is forcing them to continue presenting such great danger to Tony Bennett and his family and friends.
The police have the power and the technology to put a stop to this, and they should now be forced to act. What we are seeing here, is not at all dissimilar to the persecution of Salman Rushdie. Shame on Team McCann for not standing up and asking their more deranged fans to stop what they are doing.
Football managers had to ask their hooligans to behave after Hillsborough. The McCanns should be doing the same.

Re: 2ND HOAX ON MF BY MCCANN-SUPPORTERS
The behaviour currently being exhibited by those who believe the tale of abduction is an act of terrorism:
•A radical who employs terror as a political weapon; usually organizes with other terrorists in small cells; often uses religion as a cover for terrorist activities
•Terrorism is the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion.
•terror - panic: an overwhelming feeling of fear and anxiety
•terror - a person who inspires fear or dread; "he was the terror of the neighborhood"
•terror - a very troublesome child
•terror - the use of extreme fear in order to coerce people (especially for political reasons); "he used terror to make them confess"
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
•terrorism - the calculated use of violence (or the threat of violence) against civilians in order to attain goals that are political or religious or ideological in nature; this is done through intimidation or coercion or instilling fear

But the difference was that hooligans were costing the clubs money. The McCanns may feel that overall this mob is probably making money, by publicity. Hence their silence. And the silence of Mitchell, and of the Tapas7 and of Carter-Ruck and of the Trustees. Not one will speak.Judge Mental wrote:

A deal that David Cameron stitched up in advance with Rupert Murdoch, in exchange for Murdoch's news media backing the Conservatives in the General Election. Murdoch decides who governs the U.K.

Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation has been given government approval for its controversial takeover of BSkyB.
The green light follows News Corp's offer to spin-off Sky News as an independent company.
The decision follows concerns about the concentration of media outlets in the hands of one organisation. News Corp, which owns the Sun, the News of the World, the Times and the Sunday Times, is looking to take over the 61% of BSkyB that it does not own.
Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt said he intended to accept News Corp's offer rather than refer the takeover to the Competition Commission.
Ofcom, the UK media regulator, had said the deal should be referred to the commission. The European Commission has already ruled there is no reason to oppose the takeover on competition grounds.
News Corp said it welcomed Mr Hunt's decision.
It said it noted Ofcom's opinion to the culture secretary that it considered that "the revised proposed undertakings would address [its] plurality concerns".
Opponents will have until 21 March to lodge any complaints.
A number of media groups have opposed the takeover, including the Guardian, Associated Newspapers, Trinity Mirror and the Telegraph.
"We shall be vigorously contesting this whitewash of a proposal during the consultation period, as well examining all legal options," they said in a joint statement.
'More independence'
Mr Hunt, responsible for deciding whether to allow the takeover, said he believed News Corp's offer to hive off Sky News would "address concerns about media plurality".
QUOTE: "Correspondence published today between Mr Hunt and News Corp indicates that News Corp has - under pressure - made greater concessions than it wanted to”
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Robert Peston Business editor, BBC News - [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
"The undertakings offered would ensure that shareholdings in Sky News would remain unchanged, and indeed offer it more independence from New Corporation than it currently has," he said.
Under the terms of News Corp's proposals, the board of Sky News would have a non-executive, independent chairman and a majority of non-executive, independent directors.
News Corp has proposed that shares in Sky News be distributed among existing shareholders, with Mr Murdoch's company maintaining its 39% holding.
It would not be allowed to increase its shareholding without the permission of the culture secretary for 10 years.
It has also offered to provide funding in the form of "a substantial revenue stream" to Sky News for 10 years.
Media analyst Steve Hewlett told the BBC the offer "rolls forward the status quo, but with an independent chairman and board".
The funding commitment and continued shareholding ensures that News Corp "has a long-term interest in Sky News prospering," he added.
BBC business editor Robert Peston said Mr Hunt's decision heralded "huge changes to the landscape of the British media industry".
A combined News Corp and BSkyB would generate revenues that would "dwarf all rivals, even the BBC", he said.
Global interests
Mr Murdoch has made no secret of his desire to gain control of BSkyB.
The broadcaster made a pre-tax profit of £465m in the last six months of 2010, with revenues of £3.2bn.
"BSkyB is doing very well, and News Corp considers Sky's pay-TV service as the best in the world," said Mr Hewlett.
News Corp has many interests outside the UK, including the Fox broadcast and cable networks, 20th Century Fox film studios, Harper Collins book publisher, and newspapers such as the Wall Street Journal.

Once again, you make a damned good point, Petermac. It is simply outrageous to see the depths to which these people will sink to generate money. Yet they are seemingly allowing Halligen to get away with hundreds of thousands of pounds.

At first my thoughts on this were the point of these hoaxes were to discredit the reputation of the MF and Tony Bennett in particular. But, following the second hoax press release, im wondering also, if this may be the handywork of a closet Madeleine supporter who has a hatred for Tony Bennett. Anyone followig the link to the MF Website would see for themselves what they stand for and that the press releases were hoaxes. Would it be possible to find out who is behind them, could one of the pros be having doubts - the McCanns should be worried as it would appear they have a loose cannon in their midst.

Re: 2ND HOAX ON MF BY MCCANN-SUPPORTERS
I wonder if Halligen really did get away with hundreds of thousands of pounds, or if his inactivity was simply evidence of his being used to move it around.Judge Mental wrote: It is simply outrageous to see the depths to which these people will sink to generate money. Yet they are seemingly allowing Halligen to get away with hundreds of thousands of pounds.
This is not a new theory, but one which the passage of time and the inaction by, and silence of, the McCanns' lawyers and their spokesperson make more plausible.
Just to re-cap, the principle theories were -
1 Halligen was used to move a lot of money from the "Fund" offshore, to the USA in particular, where it would be available for whoever was named on the account
2 Halligen was used to move a lot of money from the "Fund" back to one of the main sponsors of the McCanns (name known to all) who was fed up with constantly spending and receiving no publicity for his efforts. In that way he could even 'donate' it again, and be seen to be even more generous.
I hasten to point out that I have no evidence for either of those scenarios, but
1 the failure by the Trustees to do "due diligence' on Halligen before paying him an extraordinary amount of money up front and
2 the failure of the Trustees, including the McCanns, to sue for the return of the money and even possibly -
3 the failure or negligence of Mrs Justice Hogg, who is in law Madeleine's guardian, in failing to sue for the return of the money which was supposedly donated for Madeleine's ultimate good...
leave me strangely suspicious about the whole thing.
They all have Halligen in their hands. At the moment he is going nowhere, he may be interviewed by Fraud squad officers, and legal documents may be served on him. Once he is extradited they will all be able to say he is outside the jurisdiction, but for the moment their collective silence is deafening.
(Is there an emoticon for a smelly rat ?)
