Who is pushing this crap?
None of it stands up to any level of rational questions.

I think he was also thought to have been in Fiji at some stage, too.
I'm amazed that this grotty character has evaded capture for so long...
...would he be on a UK pension and could they not have traced him through that?
I feel so sorry for all those who have been molested by him.

But the report clearly says he was temporarily living at one of the parks in 2009 when he indecently assaulted one of the girls but before he faced a court he slipped out of NZ on a stolen passport, how was he involved when he didn't leave NZ until 2 yrs after the McCann case started.BlueBag wrote:Who is pushing this crap?

In Tesco yesterday you couldn't miss the ridiculous headline in the Daily Star about the exploits of the new Maddie suspect. Can we not hit these papers with a sticker saying 'FFS, read the PJ files'?

There is NO new suspects, and there never will be, ask Mccann's where Madeleine is ?Rogue-a-Tory wrote:In Tesco yesterday you couldn't miss the ridiculous headline in the Daily Star about the exploits of the new Maddie suspect. The English government is putting pressure on Portugal, why I really don't know, the Portuguese can not do anything as long they have diplomatic pressure from UK, so the two new prosecutors can also not get anywhere, Him Mitchel is good at cover up, and good as a media guy, wonder how much money the Mccann's pay him ? Not what we know, but in real ? The SY is for sure not on the take, they only follow orders from government, the SY are normally really good, but in this case they are totally blind, and looking the wrong direction, but it is by orders.
The British police should not have anything to do with the case, and should not be allowed to touch any collected evidence, use a totally independent police with absolutely no ties to the UK, Portugal is in the EU and struggling, so it is easy for UK to put pressure on Portugal. I would not trust anything from the British police in this case.
And for Portugal, I think they are under to much pressure from UK to be trusted.
It is already so obvious, and how could the Mccann's escape prosecutions, I have seen people convicted with much less evidence. Do the UK government rule Portugal ? If not then why don't Portugal not make them suspects, and demand a EU arrest and send them back to Portugal. PJ have their hands tied behind their back.
I think Mccann's have a hold over the Mitchel guy, and the Mitchel guy have a hold over some one in high places, this is the only explanation why the Mccann's can escape justices.

Re: Roderick MacDonald, newest suspect in the McCann case (Daily Mail 15/10/14)
We haven't had a sighting for quite a long time, which is odd since there is normally one timed for release whenever SY return to Portugal
Given that they are still claiming Madeleine could be alive
(ignore DNA testing, cadaver dogs searching waste ground, digging holes etc for the moment)
it seems strange that there has been a sighting reported.
Or do the MSM realise that even the most pro would not buy yet another ludicrous story ?

That's why I wanted to know whether there was a message to Maddie or an appeal to her abductor on GMB on Monday?PeterMac wrote:We haven't had a sighting for quite a long time, which is odd since there is normally one timed for release whenever SY return to Portugal

Oh I'm sure there will be something 'interesting' coming up soon - just in time to focus on donating funds to Missing People at 'Christmas-time'.PeterMac wrote:We haven't had a sighting for quite a long time, which is odd since there is normally one timed for release whenever SY return to Portugal

The McCanns will probably be on a telly sofa somewhere to appeal to the masses and show the McCanns tirelessly and selflessly working for other people in a 'bring someone's child home for Christmas' campaign sort of thingy.
Or am I becoming too cynical
It's now about Missing People charity dontcha know! Keep up with the script!
All that stuff about trolls, doorstepping Brenda Leyland to death needs to be ignored!!!
It's doubtful the Winters & Goose book is going to be a Christmas best-seller.

A European state cannot simply issue an EAW on the basis of suspicion, the warrant has to be accompanied by tangible evidence relating to the matter they are seeking extradition for.

Welcome to the forum, Realist, and, yes the statement you've made above about EAWs is a correct summary of what evidence there needs to be before an EAW can be issued.Realist wrote:awto wrote:

No doubt you and everyone here will recall that one of the very first things the McCanns did when they rushed back from Portugal on 9 September 2007 was to consult with top British extradition lawyer, Michael Caplan Q.C. - the man who famously succeeded in preventing General Pinochet from being extradited to Britain.
No doubt the McCanns were very fearful that the Portuguese would use the EAW to bring them back to Portugal - until, that is, the hated Dr Goncalo Amaral was summarily removed from his post after strenuous objections to him from British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
No doubt there would be some who would argue that what with the evidence of Martin Grime, a long list of contradictions and changes of story, and now the 'Last Photo' evidence, there is already sufficient evidence to apply for an EAW for further questioning of the McCanns.
But IMO the Portuguese powers-that-be decided long ago to give up on the case - besides which their judicial system is in crisis...they can't even get round to finishing the case of McCanns v Amaral, which has now been running for 5 years, 4 months and 16 days, with no end in sight

The McCanns held up these same pyjamas at two press conferences on 5 & 7June 2007. How could Madeleine have been abducted?"

As I recall, Baltasar Garzon issued an international arrest warrant which led to the arrest of the Chilean dictator in London and it seems to me that you may have intended to write "Michael Caplan Q.C. - the man who famously succeeded in preventing General Pinochet from being extradited from Britain.to Spain" TB, albeit that a year or so elapsed before the then Home Secretary, Jack Straw, allowed the General to return to his home country on 'health grounds'.

Baltasar Garzon, removed as a judge in the Spanish Tribunals for illegally tapping defence phone calls & now heads up Julian Asange's legal team. Pity he couldn't have intercepted a few phone calls from neighbouring Portugal during May 2007.ultimaThule wrote:As I recall, Baltasar Garzon issued an international arrest warrant which led to the arrest of the Chilean dictator in London and seems to me that you may have intended to write "Michael Caplan Q.C. - the man who famously succeeded in preventing General Pinochet from being extradited from Britain.to Spain" TB, albeit that a year or so elapsed before the then Home Secretary, Jack Straw, allowed the General to return to his home country on 'health grounds'.

The problem with the EAW is that the standard and quantum of proof necessary must in reality be sufficient for someone to "Charged on a denial".
Further questioning under most European systems permits "No comment" answers, and the EAW must be based on enough to charge on arrival in the issuing country.
IN the instant case of the mcCans we have already seen the Kate refused to answer questions which might even have led to the recovery of her daughter.
So the chances of either of them saying anything, when they are protected by a "greed' of lawyers, an 'odium' of politicians, and a 'dishonesty' of PR people, are remote.
Re: Roderick MacDonald, newest suspect in the McCann case (Daily Mail 15/10/14)
Strangely, Mark Williams-Thomas did a television programme where he went to Portugal to track and locate a British paedophile in the Algarve who was under a EAW. It took poor old Mark and his team 4 months to get a result in the struggle with the Portuguese police to allow the UK public to see how crap the Portuguese police are.PeterMac wrote:Tony Bennett wrote:

There's nowt like PR.
Mark Williams-Thomas, paedo finder general went to Portugal.
I'm sure he could have found a few paedophiles in UK he could have concentrated on.
PR!

£700 an hour they paid these guys !!
Only to ignore the advice given by Caplan "he privately told the McCanns that media overexposure will only antagonise the sensitive Portuguese authorities"
On a side note, I've had my own dealings with Kingsley Napley in the past, and their client settled out of court with me
